    one of the best videos I've seen on rotting a pumpkin! one suggestion, instead of spray foam, which is difficult to control, you can use water and gorilla glue, which has the same effect but its easier to control.

    Fantastic pumpkin king head!!! Really enjoyed watching it come to life. You know, you can use a spray bottle with regular water in it and lightly mist the spray foam immediately after you apply it and then wet your hands and actually shape it with your hands, smooth it and use the back end of a paint brush as wekk to further "sculpt" your spray foam before it dries completely. I watched a few other people use this method, it saves you from having to shave it off and it will continue to expand after you shape it which makes it look natural and still puffs up. Also, If you use Lock Tight, you can do the same as I mentioned above, nut you can also use the heat gun to make it soft again and re shape it after it dries! It allows you to really sculpt ANY shape with the foam! I even saw one guy take clear wrap and put that down then trace out wolf ear shapes and fill them in like 3D printing and let them dry then hot glue them to the pumpkin or mask, You need to wet down the plastic sheeting on your table first to avoid sticking and wet your hands as well often while shaping. The guy I saw do this is on a channel called Stiltbeaststudios. Great work!!

    That white fuzzy stuff that grows on rotting pumpkins is actually mold btw! I also grow pumpkins and other plants every year and sometimes... You get mold which ain't good! And moss... Last I checked doesn't actually grow on pumpkins, it usually takes much longer to grow than the pumpkin itself lasts. I live in the woods as well and studies a lot of different things.

      Well, I would not recommend eating it 😜 But as with any other material including paint and even some glue...make sure you have plenty of ventilation. These are such small quantities of foam...it's not like filling an entire attic.

    So if I can't use the latex how bout Elmer's school glue or wood glue ???

    • @crazyspookscreations
      @crazyspookscreations  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Elmer's glue or white glue is your best alternative. Wood glue may dry yellowish as opposed to clear, but when it comes to Halloween props...that is not necessarily a bad thing! It is really just to keep the weaker points in the plastic from snapping off. And it does help protect it from the weather elements a bit. Where I live, Fall months can be anything from beautiful, to windy, rainy and even snow some years!

  • @craftydemon529
    @craftydemon529 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Is there anything that can be used instead of the latex for people who can't use it?

    • @crazyspookscreations
      @crazyspookscreations  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That is a fantastic question and perhaps one I should cover in the future!! Latex can definitely have its drawbacks especially when allergies are involved. A few alternatives may include
      - Elmer's glue or a white glue. It's not quite as durable as liquid latex but still very useful. Your best alternative for sure!
      - There are makeup type waxes that can be liquefied using water warmed over 40 degrees, I have never personally used a wax but I have heard they can be quite useful, however they may be messy
      - spirit gum could also work, but it's extremely sticky.
      I will have to check out a few other alternatives.

    • @crazyspookscreations
      @crazyspookscreations  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes mod podge works amazing! I did a whole separate video on latex alternatives. It's mostly to strengthen the plastic so it stays in place even with the weather hitting it
