    I know videos like these take time and effort to put together so thank you so much for doing it. Tremendously helpful.

      Glad it was helpful.
      I'm trying to make the process easier for newcomers to the hobby or to prove I exist XD.

      @@deadio1361 You can make a series for Mesa cards and how to configure them and what each pins can do. That would be great, because many CNC followers want to know how LinuxCNC work including me. Best Wishes :)

    Thanx man.
    This information are gold for me. It is not that clear where to find the information.
    As you said the information is not in one place 😃.

    Nice,
    Looking forward to the further videos.
    Also if you are connecting the ethernet cable directly, don't you need to use crossover cable?

    • @deadio1361
      @deadio1361  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed it,
      I used a normal ethernet cable that came with my old router, no crossover cable needed.

      Crossover cables are a thing of the past, only needed if the cards on both ends are "dumb", I haven't seen one "NEEDED" (certainly seen them used) for about 10 years now.

      I would like to do it but sadly I only have a 3-axis CNC mill wired up to the 7i96. Hopefully, I can cover the connections for my mill in the upcoming video.

    When I ping the Mesa board it says “92 bytes from debian (10.10.10.11) : Destination Host Unreachable” along whit that when I type 7i96 in the terminal it says command not found

    Just to make sure, what is different between 7i76 and 7i96 ? If I use linuxcnc 2.8 above then I can use 7i96, is this right ? So for linuxcnc 2.8 user, it is better to use 7i96, for older 2.7 then we can not use 7i96 ? Thanks.

    When I connect my 7i96 board to 5V power I get a red blinking INIT led, and I can't get it to ping. Any idea on what could be the issue?

    • @deadio1361
      @deadio1361  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't encounter it myself but after a little googling I found if you have a blinking INIT led and solid /Done likely you have a problem with 5v supply (high ripple or voltage drops out with load), if you are sure you have a good PSU, the blinking INIT led could be an indication that you are in the fallback config and honestly I don't know much about that, ask the forum (forum.linuxcnc.org) they should know much more than me.
      Sorry for the late reply hope you get the problem solved :)

      nano is just a terminal text editor you can use others like leafpad or vim.
      you could also install nano if you don't have it with this command " sudo apt-get install nano"

      I'm not familiar with zotac computers or 7i92 , but if i had to guess, it could be a Ethernet driver problem.
