The batshit crazy Nicolas Roeg film TRACK 29 (1987), with Theresa Russell, Gary Oldman and Christopher Lloyd, was filmed primarily at the house located to the immediate right of the water tower in Wrightsville Beach and at the Cape Fear river, which there are several references to (as well as also to the two films of the same name.) That's the only thing that brought me to this video.
Road through there the afternoon of Saturday, 6/26/21, jam-packed with wall to wall people, houses all the way up to the curb, no parking available to just day visitors. Not impressed with so many people. liked how spread out Carolina Beach was more than the hustle and bustle of Wrightsville. If you like wall to wall people, Wrightsville’s for you. Would’ve had to park 2-3 blocks away then walk another 100 feet to the beach. Not good for people with bad knees.
Thank you for posting this. We are trying to decide between Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. We are a middle-aged couple and looking for a quiet vacation.
I haven't watched this yet, My Family has gone at least once every year for 22 years and me for 9 (I am 10 if you are wondering), Also, we go to the sandpeddler as a hotel, It's small but has some real Character. We always go in front of sandpeddler and on the side of the oceanic, a restaurant We also always go there.
wrightsville out priced itself.its really only for people who live there or the tourist which is probly whast they want.used to people from areas close by could come and not get priced out with parking and things.
