This is like a time capsule. Interesting to hear Bud Collyer use the word apothecary and for the sponsor Geritol mentioned by the host which was always the case with game shows in the 50s and early 60s. Classic television. To Tell the Truth had an awesome spontaneity to it that you would never see today.
It's so surreal to watch what life was like 50 years ago and I shutter to think how our world (now) will be perceived 50 years from now. I can't imagine anything being regarded as THAT great but if I do.... that can only mean....things got a lot worse. Quite a complex conundrum.
Kitty Carlisle and husband Moss Hart, along with Bennett Cerf and wife Phyllis, were among# the dozen judges who selected Miss America 1959, Mary Ann Mobley--and her second runner-up, Anita Bryant. #3 was wrong---Miss America 1955 was also one of the very few to remain known after her reign...Lee Meriwether.(in fact, she co-hosted the broadcast that Saturday night).

1958? What I had in store for me! Now the year 2015. Much has changed.
Thank you for this episode, excuseyou77. RIP Dick Clark 1929-2012.
Looking back. How things have changed.

I don't have that episode unfortunately, but I do remember seeing that moment on a game show blooper special.
i did not think it would be number 3 as his slacks were too short, as if they were borrowed.
Good observation...
So, obviously, you voted for Number One.
@@paultheaudaciousbradford6772 : you clown! this was 5 freaking years ago. "obviously" i don't even remember the scenario at this point.
Dick Clark's CBS debut.
is that bud collier
Even in 1958, Dick made fun of his ability to play the games.
My! Everyone gets a complimentary jar of Geritol !
Geritol was fined over $800,000 for misleading health claims
Um...that's Hy Gardner.
The stockbroker/ZORRO creator fake looks like the Richard Kiel created Kanamit in the TWILIGHT ZONE episode "To Serve Man"
I think I need some Geritol..
