"this is your house, no more changes", that sentence makes me cry many times. thank you for giving naomi a complete home. you americans help a lot of chinese orphans, thank you.
Ronby Sanlacwa theres videos on that. It is so sad, and I never blame the mother, bc the situation in other countries is extremely difficult and different from America.
Ronby Sanlacwa Because there are lots of families prefer boys than girls, but there are still many Chinese families waiting for adopting babies. And I heard it’s a very difficult process.
I’m a Chinese adoptee adopted by a white, Canadian family back in 1999 and watching your little Chinese New Year party made me emotional. Being of colour in a white home and in a predominantly white community was complex growing up, but it also enriched my identity in so many ways too. I love how you encourage her to be proud of who she is and where she is from. She is surrounded by so much love. She is truly home.
@drag0nfly_girl Hey thanks for your comment. Personally, I do identify as someone of colour. It is something that my family and I use openly and lovingly. In fact my mother is keenly aware of this and we have had many conversations as jewish people about the ways I have felt within predominantly white, jewish spaces, both positive and negative. I am a person who is visually of a different race than my family. That brings with it it’s own joys and challenges. To ignore that fact is to erase the experiences I have and will continue to have as someone who is a different race than those I often travel with. Everyone is colourful and moves through life on their own path. But it is not a bad thing to identify the ways in which we are different! I would also add that I don’t feel at all that I am excluding myself from my home or my family when I use this language in this context. Of course, when I talk about my family, I don’t say my white family. They are simply my family. But in the context of my comment, which is directly addressing the embracing of culture, it’s important to identify that my family is white, and that I was culturally brought up as “white”, and that I am profoundly touched when “white” families like my own go out of their way to incorporate their child’s culture as a way of showing their love.
@@jennybassam5515 hey! Just so yk, having white skin doesn't make u white racially. Chinese and Japanese people are Asian which makes them people of color.
As an adopted child from China, I love that you and your family are continuing to educate her on her heritage. I remember my mother doing the same for my sister and I and it's something I cherise. Also, please continue to teach her Chinese, that is one thing I wished my mother would have continued to do for me when I was little as I plan to travel to China one day and would love to be able to speak it. It's so beautiful that you embrace Naomi's heritage (and continue to do so) and use it to educate your boys about another culture. I think it is easy for a child who is adopted by foreigners to lose touch with their heritage. The fact that you are teaching her Chinese is just beautiful. I really love how you put a lot of effort into teaching her Chinese words. You were even taking care to pronounce the tones, that shows how much you truly care ❤️
As I watched her adoption video and then this one I was thinking of how lucky Naomi is. Then I realized I had it backwards, Naomi is simply finally getting the loving family that she deserves, your family was lucky to have searched for and found such a wonderful treasure. Many prayers and loving vibes to the entire Lewis family.

It's amazing to see how you changed her life forever! And now she has 3 big brothers protecting her. God bless you folks! Can you please do a quick update on Naomi?
I'm an Asian, but you celebrate more Chinese New Year than I'm. I grew up to see all the Chinese red papers all over the houses in my country, but my house never decorate with these types of papers. Even my parents celebrate Chinese New Year every year. I celebrated 3 New Years in America: Chinese, American and SouthEast Asian. Every Chinese New Year, I got a red envelope from my born Chinese uncle who immigrated to my country when he was young. But, I admired you and your family who make your daughter feel at home by celebrating her New Year and eat Chinese food. She will remember you for the rest of her life. I hope to see her growing up with success and respect tour her parents and elders as Asian culture does. I had 3 kids born in the US and so far they listen and follow my advise. Two in college and one in middle school. As a parent, we only want to see our kids grow and be a good and successful persons. We, then, are happy.
This beautiful little girl is very lucky and blessed, but ofcourse DESERVING of a family like the one she now has. One which celebrates her heritage, while still making sure that she knows that she is no different from those around her.

Thanks for the update. You have a beautiful family. Naomi looks so cute and so happy. I think it is great you keep her heritage going in her life. She may not understand nothing but it will benefit her later in life.
温馨的家庭!善良的父母!可爱的妹妹!她好幸运,祝福这个有爱的家庭永远幸福快乐!
I love how much you guys love her. And it’s so genuine 🫠 thank you for providing her with a happy safe loving home. May you and your family be blessed beyond blessed! Happy thanksgiving!
Single handedly one of the sweetest Chinese adoptions ever! It’s so nice to see her truly loving her new family for who they are! I’ve seen other babies be ok but not like her! Lol this is so sweet! How long ago did you adopt?
She fits in with your family beautifully🌹❤️
This is 5 years old. I’d love to see another update. She looks so happy.
