    Nice review of the GeoCity’s. Just ordered a pair yesterday and no idea they had the lights. That’s a plus. Night Road/City rider. Can’t wait.
    Appreciate the vid. Cheers! 🎩

    "Looks" nice ;)
    So is it possible to change the Vibram pad from the city version with the trail version?

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Dennis, It sure is! you could even have one side with a City Grip and one with a Trail Grip 👍Hope that helps

      @@wiggle Is it possible to have one color of Vibram pad city version and one color Trail grip on the Vision light version pedal? Thanks.

    They look cool but the cost doesn't justify for different inserts or extra cost for vision led lights.
    Cost would be justified as a bundle deal being a new bike product. Guess we will have to wait and see if the price comes down as well as availablity under the pandemic.
    Unless Wiggle or CRC already have them in stock....

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mills, 100% agree. a package with different inserts / vision setups would be the way to go with these. We have stock of most of the options available...just not as a bundle yet!

      Rei just clearanced them out for $40usd. I bought a pair. Haven’t used them yet but battery was decently charged out of the box and installation was easy.

    I was expecting Will Farrell to finally rip the beard & cap off. BTW, nice solution to my commuting dilemma. Clipless, full blown race gear, or flats just save time. I think this is my ticket.

    Wish they were a 1/4 of the size, just enough to give the balls of the feet a good lockdown. They'd be perfect on an all road bike!

      Yeah that would be a nice option for another set! Would look pretty nice too

    A problem with the rubber is that it will lose grip as the rubber dries out.

    • @TPITEOTG
      @TPITEOTG ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with all good pedals is that they need servicing after 150-200 hours of riding; for example, “refresh kit” costs $25 (Crank Brothers pedals). Considering that I paid only $50 for pedals on sale… I’ll buy new one instead of servicing.
      Same with rubber pedals. Maybe even more expenses. They sell replacement pads for example. But I need “rubber” just to start & learn, spiky pedals look scary.

      @@TPITEOTG naw, I used canfield crampons since 2016 and only serviced them once. That 150/200 mile service is pure marketing to buy parts.

    These Look City pedals seem slippery when using with Vibram-soled hiking trainers. Is there something I'm missing? Straight out of the box and my feet feel like they're on bars of soap. Please convince me that these are not an over-rated gimmick. Do they work best with particular soles?

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The city pedals are best for use with casual flat soled trainers/shoes. The Trail grip pedals work best with a vibram soled shoe. Hope that helps a little

  • @ryanp5052
    @ryanp5052 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the pedals alot and the cost is ok for what it is BUT I noticed it cost alot to even replace the inserts which I’d hope you would never need being a more expensive pedal. I may purchase haha

    If you have the geocity and wear crocs that are wet your feet will slip. I have not tried the other 2 styles yet.

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmmmnnnn I've not tried them in crocs but i'd imagine in the wet they wouldn't be much good! fine for just pottering around on tarmac tho 👍

    Might look cool, but as with all rubber pedals, the surface has almost no grip.

    How well does the city version grip if it becomes dusty or slightly dirty?

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah they work really well in the dust and dry mud...the only time they noticeably lose some grip is in the real wet...but they still work really well👍

      @@wiggle thnx though. Would you be able to use the 1st two version on 1pedal? Say the totally flat ones on 1side and the ones with moderate pins on the other side. That way you wont have to switch out pedals when swithing terrain you just switch side...

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not the lightest by any means, but for urban or light trail use it shouldn't be a problem 👍
