This was a true UPT legendary DC time. We rocked wit UCB to the fullest. I’m from off da Ave (Georgia Ave) myself. Living in NC now this bought back some good memories… Keep the videos coming. They make me feel like I’m back home. Dan ‘JuiceMan’
UCB a legendary band , I’m a 90s baby from PG Maryland who experienced they come up as a youngin and seen how out of towners love when sexy lady come on in the parties during my college time
I'm born and raised Inglewood california.a friend from DC just hip me to UCB. He played Sexy Lady. I was surprised and told him didn't know Gogo mixed other rap songs in them.I immediately became a fan of UCB. Too dope,so glad they are still performing. Hopefully they can get on a stage at one of these HBCU homecoming's. Rare Essence was at HU's last year. Was off the chain. ❤❤❤
Definitely keep going with the go-go joints. Its a deep bag. I use to hear stories from late 70s early 80s when my parents watched the genesis of go-go performed @school playgrounds & parks. History from when the District was 🍫 City
I feel like certain members past & present of UCB should’ve been also interviewed, just like “VH1 behind the Music” does. Members like, Big Marcus, G-money, Bo, Slump, Rashard, J.R., Moolie, and previous managers should have also been a part of this as well.
UCB cranked so hard, niggaz just don't understand. 2000 through like 2007 era was crazy. Really from 98 but I started listening in 2000. Them niggaz made me fall in love with the music, the instruments. I taught myself how to play keyboard and toms and timbales just because I loved the shit. Thank yall niggaz for the Denos nights and the hot shoppes nights. Shit was legendary! 💪🏿💯💪🏿
I’m originally from DC, in the Military and left DC in 2005. U really do great job! I’m dying to found out what happened to NEG!!! U continue pursuing being the best u!
I first caught wind of UCB when i was living uptown back in 2000. I would see Trey and Roc Mikey at the Madness shop and across the street at Inna City Sounds with Woody and Ty. That dude Ty turned me onto them. Good times back then.
Do a documentary on "The Huck-a-bucks" aka young junkyard band. They definitely was ahead of their time because they use to crank on JY's level as a young band...Se'quan was definitely was one helluva percussionist
Good shit! Them boys used to could ball 🏀 too. I remember they used to have the “PVC Ballers” Madness shirts back in the day. RIP to my man Chris Rock from up that way. Love & miss you, homie.
It was also a band named THE MIGHTY YOUNG ONES that formed around 640 and the drummer lived on Quebec street Nw where the band practiced at also it was the first band he started with for a brief time it was a big show that was going to take the Mighty Young Ones to the top at the finale practice before the biggest show in the band lives the drummer was late and the band members were told that the drummer was locked up for a homicide which crushed the hearts of the band members they could never find a drummer good enough to replace Tank he's home now after serving about 20 years the band started in the mid 80s and ended in the early 90s
Ain't nothing like coming on TH-cam and it's a new DC Raw & Uncut Video posted... 💯

That synthesized riff from Sexy Ladies was inspired by "Don't Disturb this Groove" by The System.

Keep going with these gogo joints. Gogo history needs to continue to be documented. These interviews by old / original band members are gold.
Once again, an AMAZING documentary.
Thanks 👍🏽
And the original song sexy lady come from was Dont disturb this groove. Gotta include that
That beat comes a group called The System. Don't disturb this groove is the song.

Marcus “Big Marcus“ Heath is the brains behind the sound of UCB. He should get way MORE respect than what people give him!
