Even as a longtime Final Fantasy fan, Clive quickly became one of my favorite protagonists in the series. He really is cool and has a great fighting style and abilities, but also has a very emotional and human core to his character that I appreciate, and his voice actor, Ben Starr, absolutely crushed it. Really hope you guys play Final Fantasy XVI at some point soon.
The part where Clive has the things sticking out of his arms and he's glowing is what they call in FF16 "semi-primed". The people who have the powers in the game are called Dominants and they can half transform into their Eikons. The 2nd part of the stage is from one of the coolest parts of the game where a song called Find the Flame plays. Really great song. Its one of the most hype parts of the game overall
They teased the next DLC fighter. It's gonna be Anna Williams. How do I know? One of those missiles had a lipstick stain on it. Just like when she fought Nina in Tekken 5's opening.
God ff16 was a breath of fresh air, Clive is such an amazing character, and my best friend gav and cid definitely deserves a prequel game about him and Benedicta

a third hoped for Tifa and are disappointed, a third thought Clive takes Tekken further away from the martial arts roots, and a third dread that Clive is the next Noctis and a pain to fight. the last of these three fears has calmed, and in regards to Tifa: Why not have her as a collab right before or right after FF7 Remake series' third installment?

Personally, I was waiting for a Virtua Fighter character. I'm not disappointed that we got Clive; I'm disappointed that we got him in Tekken and not Soul Calibur. I never liked Yoshimitsu nor Victor, as the whole sword thing just didn't fit into the game. At least, originally, Yoshimitsu's sword's reach was relatively short until Tekken 7, but in 8 they really went all out with him. I hate his mix-ups, but I would have been willing to tolerate his existence had he been the only one - but then we got Victor. And now Clive. He does not fit into the game not just because of his aesthetics, fighting style and his stage. Now don't get me wrong; he's amazing to look at - his design is spot on and animations look great - but he really, really should have been put into Soul Calibur. I would have much more preferred to get VF's Akira, Kage, Jean, Goh or Vanessa - those would have gotten me genuinely excited again for this game. Now, instead I'm really, really hyped up about the next Virtua Fighter - that game can't come out soon enough. I suspected I'll be dropping out of Tekken 8 like a hot potato by the time that game is released.
Tekken seems to be dipping their toes more into crossovers since 7. They had 4 guest characters in that one, one of them being Neagan from the Walking Dead oddly enough
In case you guys didn’t know, Clive Rosfield is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy 16. It’s a highly underrated game. When Clive’s father, the king of Rosaria, is betrayed by someone on the inside, Clive is forced to enroll in the Imperial army as a slave for 13 years before being freed by a stranger named Cid. Cid offers Clive his help in discovering the truth behind his father’s betrayal on the condition that Clive help Cid with destroying the Mothercrystals, large crystalline structures that provide man with magic. There’s a lot more to it, but I think that’s a basic enough synopsis. I highly recommend you check the game out and play it for yourselves, or even just watch all the cutscenes so you can experience the story. It’s an amazing experience.
What excites me a lot for Tekken 8 is Season 2, that helicopter that has the rose, dagger, & kiss mark? I knew it was Anna. My favorite Williams sister is coming back. It was incomplete for me if Nina was not fighting Anna 🥹 Even though I’m not hyping for Clive, he was pretty alright to be a guest character though. My friend was even happy when Clive was revealed as the last DLC for Season 1

But the pipe dream of Tifa in Tekken isn't completely dead since the chief director of Tekken said "It could be cool to have multiple Final Fantasy characters." So patience and hold out hope around the 3rd and final FF7 Remake game to drop... Would be funny if this did happen and they picked Cloud though XD
Guys When I tell you that they are gonna have to nerf the hell out of my boy Clive at least 16 TIMES!!! It’s because he’s just THAT overpowered!!! Now he’s literally gonna be my Main in the game now!!!
all jokes aside, judging by community oppinion Clive seems to have been very well balanced. He doesn't do as much oppressive damage as Heihachi and Bryan, some of his moves are made deliberately weaker than the same moves on other characters, but in exchange he is a mid-range monster
Everything I want to say about Clive is a spoiler. Check out the Phoenix Gate prologue, either by playing or watching someone play the Demo. Tekken 3 has the OG guest character: Gon. But aside from that they haven’t used them too much. 7 had Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, Geese from King of Fighters, Akuma from Street Fighter and friggin’ Negan from Walking Dead for some reason, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s likeness and everything.
Enjoy play as him so far, clive does remind me of dante from devil may cry. all the flames, phoenix wings and stances, he really ensue such incredible feats of strength. the hound assist was pretty cool too. he could fit in a soul caliber game and rival maybe siegerfield.

as you guys said....he is like a combo of Kazuya(flame demon form in heat), Jin seeking atonment & Leroy for summoning a wolf(though more destructive), but i wonder if he is from Final Fantasy...what class is he....red mage or something i dont know since i have not played FF since FF 6....after and saw story of ff 7.....afterwards....nothing....looks cool as hell....with a bit of guts from berserk feeling
Well sir Ken miss Bethany it's not a first time a final fantasy character guest in the Tekken franchise. He's name was Noctis in Final Fantasy XV so adding Clive on this is mildy surprising because correct me if I'm wrong the development team behind Tekken said there will no guest characters in tekken 8 if I recalled on the earlier interviews so yeah it sums it up that clive is added to this roster of guest characters in final fantasy so ❤❤❤.
Not entirely correct. They said at the start from T8 that right now we should not think of any guests. They always wanted guest but it is super hard to get a successful collab with other devs. THis collab started before even FF16 came out. So they created Clive, before Clive was even finished for FF16. And even if someone does not like him in Tekken, no one can deny that the Tekken Team did not took care of the implementation. You'll notice so many details, especially when you played FF16 too. :)
