start at beginning of the year once snow is gone, new budding/growing grass takes hold better then stuff that over 3 inches and planted into tank, also submerge grass roots in a bowl of tank water for 24 hours to decreese root shock.

I'm doing the same experiment with a houseplant fern.
One full month submerged and still green.
I'm monitoring it very closely because some new branches seem to be growing (very very slowly).

I wondered this, I have crabgrass and bermuda. Add it grows so quick that I just take patches out. I'm also trying to find a way to filter out my tank without the need of constant filter Replacements or emptying the tank so often because my fish don't like it. And if I can use lawn grass to filter my tank and clean it, that sounds perfect. I'm wondering even if weed dandelions will grow underwater for the same purpose.

You are a madman. I really don't think this will work in the long run. Terrestrial plants typically survive in a waterlogged state for a little while, but ultimately I think it will drown/suffocate. It certainly won't hurt your fish though. Good luck on the experiment. Guess we'll see in a few weeks.

Not all. You can do an adventure (like me) in marshy lands and look for the plants that grow in there. There's a higher chance that marsh plants can live in submerged condition because marshy lands are always wet (though not flooded) but maybe sometimes areas for floods.

Hey, Mike. I'm currently working on planting jungle val in my 20 gallon long tank. My gravel is standard (not meant for planting) but from what I've heard, jungle val is not picky. To help with the growth of all my other live plants, I've been wanting to add supplements to 'feed' them, like seachem flourish; according to research, this additive melts jungle val. What would you recommend? Nice job with your lawn grass in your tank by the way. It looks awesome.

It ended up dying. Not water hardy but they’re might be varieties that work

It may work because they grow in rice paddies (of course, LOL) which is flooded and young plants stay submerged until they grow emerged.

I have a feeling it won't like being submerged for very long and eventually melt back. We'll see tho, keep us posted.
