This just show's how incredible a musician and singer Kurt was. Even great singers struggle with his unique style. What Kurt brought, unknowingly, to the world was truly an irreplaceable gift that will forever resonate until this tiny blue marble implodes millions and millions of years from now. Thank you Kurt and Nirvana for everything you gave to us! There will never be another....

Totally agree. I was 14 going on 15 when he died . I remember the day MTV announced he was dead I was out of school for three days all that you could watch on MTV was Nirvana videos live performances.I also mourned listening to my tape collection of Nirvana recorded everything MTV showed cuz it was now a part of my history. He was the John Lennon of the early 90's.

If I was going to a Nirvana reunion I would still sneak on stage and throw myself off into the crowd, but these days I feel like people would try and stop the gig and call me an idiot for risking mine & their safety and ruining their smartphone video because I landed on top of them.

Kurt did what he did. My best friend and band member of 15 years killed himself same way shot gun to the head. The most real thing krist noveseluc ever said was " he should have never did that" me and my buddy stuggled with monster heroin addictions just as big as kurts if not more and for alot more years. We both got clean but my buddy ran into some health issues that were causing him pain so he decided to end it. Its such a stupid thing to do. Me and others miss him so much. Rest in peace Joey, but yeah suicide is the wrong ansewer. Its easy to die. Living is the hard part at times. But regardless kurt made his choice. People usually care about suicide for selfish reasons like they wanted more nirvana albums. The only one i really feel for is kurts aunt his band members and his daughter these are the people that were robbed by kurts selfish choice. He should have never done that.

I saw Nirvana when they had just added Pat to the band. They became even MORE powerful as a 4 piece. I had never before witnessed such an audio assault from another dimension, or after. And I've been to hundreds of concerts now. It was at the old Maple leaf gardens in toronto, I can't remember the exact date but it must have been late 93 early 94, just before he died. People were saying they were worn out and washed up at that point but I disagree. The minute they added Pat to the band it brought a new flame to the fire. That show was so unbelievable, I am convinced they are responsible for adding cracks to the foundation in the building and the reason they had to tear it down and build a new one. There was something happening that was undescribable, an energy that was coming from another dimension I swear. That was the first time I ever crowd surfed. Security was so awesome too, they would only grab people when they were crowd surfing too close to the stage and pull them down so they wouldn't get hit by the fence, and then they would show them how to go around the hall to the back of the crowd and come back in and work their way up to the front. Nobody got thrown out for anything unless they were being violent. I remember I was crowd surfing smoking a doobie and one of the security guards grabbed me when I got close to the stage and pulled me down and pointed the direction for me to head to the hallway, and he didn't even ask me to put out my joint. Those were the days man. And I'm telling you there was something there, an energy that Kurt conjured Up from another dimension. They were magic to begin with but once they added Pat to the band to thicken up the guitars a bit, it was like pouring pure alcohol on an already out of control fire. Pure awesomeness.

While I've never seen them live, I grew up with them being in high school in the mid 90s. And I still watch all the "new" show uploads on youtube as they come. I used to spend 40 bucks a pop on the bootleg CDs too like outcesticide... Lol anyway, it was obvious to me, and ANYONE especially if you show them the MTV live and loud performance with Pat, that he really helped augment their sound. Some of the songs, on Nevermind especially, due to butch vigs clean pristine production and insistence on double tracked vocals, really called for two guitars, and imo, when compared to some of the (even officially released, like the muddy banks of wishkah... Ick) performances of nevermind tracks before they added Pat- it's like night and day. And if I'm really honest, sometimes they're cringe to me and I cant even or don't even wanna listen.
In utero was a different beast all together, but hey, what band ever sounded WORSE with another 🪓 axeman plugged in 🎸???
plus, which is the big plus I think you were alluding to, Pat Smear was a legend in his own right, not just because of fucking house of style or whatever but because he's a genuine punk rocker, living in infamy and just exuding rock and roll wherever he goes, sure he's a bit like a puffy uber driver now but back then it was just raw primal fashionable barefooted jumping up and down and thrashing til your fingers bled enegery!!!
You watch them all on stage and it's legit lookin like they're going to be levitating any moment...

In 1991 I was 9 years old and my brother bought never mind on tape cassette and pretty much changed my life because within another year he bought helmet meantime and then because of those two bands I progressed on to punk rock fairly quickly and then became a fugazi fan and went to the store to buy really old Circle jerks records from 1980 after hearing and watching Kurt Cobain talk about the Sex Pistols I went and bought Sex Pistols never mind the bollocks it just steam road from that point and it's all thanks to this band.

Dude I’m sorry but your 🤥 . That was the defining moment of my forrmative years, and that news was revealed on a Friday morning. Everyone knew about it by noon. You would’ve seen it on TV or heard it from a friend way before seeing it in a newspaper the next day. It was all over the television for the entire day the second they found him. My dad even knew about it before me because I was in the shower when the news hit. I just don’t think you could’ve gone all day on April 8, 1994 and not knowing that Kurt Cobain was dead till the next day when you walked past a newspaper machine.

I used to see Nirvana at Al's Bar in Los Angeles before Nevermind and grunge became mainstream popular culture. Before Courtney Love met Kurt she was working as a skanky stripper at Jumbos in Hollywood then got a cameo (camel toe) role in the movie "Sid and Nancy." She emulated Nancy's look after that and borrowed Kat Bjelland vocal style from Babes in Toyland. Without help from Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon Courtney's band Hole would never had reached the success it had. I just wish Courtney stood away from Kurt, she literally emulated the dysfunctional relationship Sid and Nancy had into thier relationship and rode the coat tails of Kurt's success until his demise.

good performance. sad obviously. Especially All Apologies w/ Krist on accordion. Scott Lucas of Local H would be a good one to sing on one of these if they did it again. Local H have done Nirvana tribute shows a few times. Obviously one of their main [if not their main] influence. Maybe Daniel Johns of Silverchair? IDK if he still does but he used to do a pretty good Kurt-esque grunge gravel vocal. I'm sure there are others. It was just good to see Krist performing again.

When I saw them with Chili peppers and pearl jam - they were tight as f#ck and sounded like the record but you could feel that comment of "being an animal in a zoo" they didn't feel like they wanted to be there
Certainly compared to PJ with Vedder climbing the metal girders, dangling 40 feet above us and letting go.... Dropping to catching arms... Or RHCP and their Schick shdick... I'm rambling... The mustache kat kicked serious ass
