My echo teacher, when I was in school, let us all take a wireless probe called Butterfly home to practice scanning over the summer. The only issue with it was it would overheat pretty easily.
I pay $50 to the local girl who does dog ultrasounds for $50 she’s always spot on in counting puppies with her Butterfly and sends me the video very very cool machine. Her device is completely wireless. But I hear what your saying (somewhat)

Im going to be picking ip the probe with linear side only as its all I really need in my Family Practice/Sports Medicine Clinic. I currently own a Behemoth I picked up for a few thousand 7 years ago that still works but takes up too much space. Found the imaging for musculoskeletal and other parts was not very great. Other aspects of linking to phone, charging and not over heating were good...but I need better resolution in imaging
I hear ya! I don’t scan MSK with this probe. It’s a bit bulky for some things. Def room for growth in resolution. It’s a great probe for certain exams for sure but nothing quite beats a true ultrasound machine. Thanks for your input! 🤗
The vscan is very similar- great image quality but gets hot and battery runs out if on for more than an hour. How long can the eagle probe last continuously?

As a complete novice to ultrasound is there a better user manual than the booklet that comes with the unit? What comes with unit is painfully inadequate.

Yeah, I have some stock in the butterfly company. Lol. I wanted it but never got it. Seems like a cool thing though.
Butterfly doesn’t have wireless connectivity. Butterfly probe connects by cable to your smartphone/tablet

Yes it has the color option however I've never heard of facial injections. That's pretty cool!

Mostly doctors and PAs/NPs do POCUS.

I'm not too sure, however the probe is definitely hard to use if you are not quite familiar with ultrasound machines.
Can you actually hear the CW/PW or HR, like is there audio that comes with the prob?
yes you can hear the sound! I'll post a video of this for you -- and the audio plays off the iPhone or iPad.

i have the red steven penny book that has both OB and abdomen. is there any other study material you recommend?
If you want to choose, I say pick the one you understand more. They are all challenging in their own ways. :)
Any Edelman book from seminars are great to use for studying as well as Davies review books!
