A very sad day when we woke to the news. I admit I cried. While he was alive there was hope for good Russians to cling too. Putin is a very, very small but evil man. When his time comes I hope it will be eternally painful. He deserves no less. I hope eventually the good Russians win. But right now it’s hard to see how.

Such bravery needs to be remembered. People who stand up against oppression and tyranny and with no thought for themselves are special. A beautiful response to a horrific tragedy. We need to be braver too, even when the odds seem impossible, to take a stand against injustice, hatred and oppression. It’s hard to leave our comfort zones but nothing will get better anywhere if we don’t. Real change always starts with our own decision to try and make a difference for the good of others.

Thank you for the song! Very touching indeed. I have been following Navalny’s work since 2010 and have been to a few events that he organised. His death is a huge loss to many people of Russia who do not believe that the countries fate is an oppressive autocracy. And it is really moving to realize that Alexey’s message reached across to the western world as well.
I wish I could like this a million times. And what it is important to remember is that not all Russians are supporting Putin, and those that do are maybe misinformed. Most people are good people.
This is why Alexei lived, and was martyred: for that road out of dictatorship and into justice. As the shadow of Russian tyranny looms over my country, I pray that Navalny's road is cleared of vegetation and violence, is paved with peace and security, and the "Road Closed" sign torn down and replaced with giant signs and lights pointing at the entrance. Much love from across the pond, with admiration for how well y'all play and sing.
