As an Iranian woman, currently living in Iran, I must say I am very thankful.. Thank you so so much for being our voice and singing about our revolution and cries for freedom so beautifully. May you live a happy, healthy and free life with your loved ones. Again, thank you..
As an Australian I am proud to hear the tune of Waltzing Matilda being used to memorialise Mahsa Amini a young woman who died. (was murdered) for no reason that can be condoned by anyone who believes in freedom for all people. Thank you for using your talents and skills to bring light to the world and stand up for those who cannot do so for themselves without risking their lives. Once again The Marsh Family gives a gift to the world.
The maturity of your children, and the way in which you're raising them to be socially, and politically, aware and to have empathy and be willing to raise their voices in protest, is a parenting model for families worldwide.
Hello from Iran, we have shed many tears these past few months and for 200 days our life has become three words: woman, life, freedom. Even if women's legs are cut off from running towards freedom, we will give birth to girls who have wings to fly. for Iran and a free world.
A family from a home county, adapting a song from the antipodes, featuring an instrument developed by enslaved Africans in the American South, singing about struggle for female equality in a Farsi-speaking Muslim nation. In a world in which I as a person of a certain age often currently border on despair for the future of humanity, this image buoys me with hope. Thank you all from Colorado.
According to GAMAAN research institue's 2020 online survey, in contrast with state propaganda that portrays Iran as a Shia nation, only 32% explicitly identified as such, while 5% said they were Sunni Muslim and 3% Sufi Muslim. Another 9% said they were atheists, along with 7% who prefer the label of spirituality. Among the other selected religions, 8% said they were Zoroastrians - which GAMAAN interprets as a reflection of Persian nationalism and a desire for an alternative to Islam, rather than strict adherence to the Zoroastrian faith - while 1.5% said they were Christian. Most Iranians, 78%, believe in God, but only 37% believe in life after death and only 30% believe in heaven and hell. Around 20% said they did not believe in any of the options, including God.
This made me cry. Thank you. Thank you for supporting justice and freedom for your daughters and our sisters around the world. Thank you for teaching your sons to do the same. Thank you for this hauntingly beautiful song of hope.
Omg! I’m in tears guys! Your beautiful narrative about the Iranian revolution touched my heart. You are a beautiful family. “Faith’s not a veil but the choice to wear it willfully”: wonderful phrase that captures not just this situation but so much other that is happening around the world.
You made me cry guys. I'm Iranian currently living in Australia. Fith my heart all in pain and teeth grinding and fists clenching for what these brutal beasts are doing to my people. Thank you all for being so kind and caring souls. Can I publish the videos with reference on my social media please? To help the word spread?
Hello there. Wow, that was one of the most beautiful and amazing songs I've ever listened to. Thx for standing for us! God bless you all!🙂 #womanlifefreedom #mahsaamini #zan_zendegi_azadi
It warms my heart and fills me with a joy that only such beautiful display of creativity mixed with humanity can produce. Thank you guys for being such amazingly beautiful people. I sincerely hope once Iran is free your entire family can sign this song in various cities and towns throughout Iran. Zan Zendegi Azadi.
I am crying. Thank you, Marsh family, for the the sensitivity to sing a sad song where sadness and anger are overwhelming. Since I was a student in the 80ies I follow the Iranian current history with a special interest - many of my friends came from this beautiful country. And I pray so hard, that this protest will not be smothered and killed like so many before. Thank you again for giving the gift of your voices and talents to this cause.
Your most impacting song yet. I feel that I must put it out there for even more to see. May God bless the will to be free and may we show respect for all women.
As an Iranian grown up in Australia, I appreciate everything about this song. What a talented and kind hearted family. Amazing voices, especially the young ladies!! Good on ya !

Goosebumps all over... This may be the most important song you've done yet, and you've hit precisely the right tone ... "Faiths not just a veil, its a choice to wear it willingly." Why is that water running down my face?
As an Iranian woman I thank you for your kind consideration and support. It brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with hope. Thank you again 💗🕊️
Thank You for your oneness, integrity, courage and musical gifts. I am so grateful that you are capable of creating this love-song and offering it to the world. It expresses the emotions that so many millions in Iran and all around the world are feeling. Faith indeed is not a veil - but the choice to wear it willingly. Such a simple statement but it cuts right to the heart of the issue.
This made me cry. Such a haunting song with such powerful lyrics. Especially felt the “faiths not just a veil, it’s the choice to wear it willingly” line. Zan, Zendegi, Azadi!
Very beautiful and creative song!Thank you so much for supporting Iranians for our fights for having basic human rights and dignity. I am grateful to your family to be awake and spreading the word of Iranians with your beautiful voices while most media are silent. May you always be healthy, happy and conscious. Much love.♡♡♡
Thank you so much for doing this guys! I've shed so many tears the last 6 weeks or so. It just hurts. As a half persian that has never visited the country I still feel like it's my country in a way. Zan, zendegi, azadi ✊
Wow thank you so much guys. Seeing how much effort has been put into this for our voice to be heard is so empowering. I am proud to be living in the same planet as you guys. Everyday Iranians are at war in the street so many lives are lost and at stake now. Please don't let these protests be forgotten.
Thanks for singing this beautiful song for all those women persecuted in Iran. I don't think we know how lucky we are. When we fear about heating our homes and food, there are others worried if they will Live through the next day.
Hopefully it is not just my opinion that this song is about justice and freedom for all girls and women, not only those in the Middle East, though they do face cruelties I in the US can't imagine. What I also think of though, is the ingrained attitude of too many men that allows them to hate and disrespect, often publicly, any woman they disagree with, on any level, and diminishing them to nothing more than scorned sexual objects. Too often that attitude leads to violence against girls and women. Having to live with that as a fact of life is not being "lucky."
. I can't listen to this without tears streaming down my cheeks - the people of Iran, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Ukraine, Belarus and many other countries around the world need our support, and in particular women and girls who need freedom and choice. #MahsaAmini #WomanLifeFreedom
This needs to be played on every radio station, but maybe just a couple of times a day or I’ll run out of tears. Beautiful song, beautiful performance.
Heartbreaking and wonderful. A far cry from my first - a pandemic trip to the barricades of Les Mis. Unison, harmonies, solos - all fantastic. You even made the banjo seem apt. Tears from the first line.
I am from Iran and always enjoyed country music, but never even thought one of my favorite ones would have been about this revolution thank you a lot #MahsaAmini
Beyond grateful for what you did. You could not capture the spirit of this movement more gracefully and accurately. Much love from almost all of Iranians

In a world seemingly full of cruelty, hatred and division and with the rise of sexism and fear of women, your politics, your voices, your humanity shines through. You are amazing parents with amazing kids.
I'm so moved by this family. What talented, creative people they are. Their lyrics to "Waltzing, Matilda" tell of this woman's death through the pathos of the ballad. A spot-on selection, and a gift of hope for all who struggle to be free.
As an Iranian woman, currently living in Iran, I must say I am very thankful.. Thank you so so much for being our voice and singing about our revolution and cries for freedom so beautifully. May you live a happy, healthy and free life with your loved ones. Again, thank you..

The sooner the mad mullars are gone the better, then Iran can take its rightful place in the world as a free nation where freedom of choice prevails.
As another Australian, your comments took the words out of my heart 💔
