    Excellent video! Thanks very much from a non-keyboardist who had not idea the right technique to achieve that type of sound.

    Do not try this at home if your hand is limp or flaccid
    Symptoms may include:
    Lighting candles to Keith Emerson or Jon Lord
    An urge to stab the keyboard with knives
    Growing a beard or mustache or wear a metallic jacket
    Ask your doctor if a Hammond is right for you

    What are you using to achieve that smooth overdrive? And what kind of mics are you using to capture the Leslie? It sounds amazing!!

      Everyone asks that lol Its just an LED light cut into an adapter. Amazon purchase! I do it will all my Leslies, makes for a good talking point.

    Yeah im always afraid to hurt the keybed trying glissando in my keyboard, although it has great hammond sounds i should get an actual organ keybed cause i love the sound

    • @nickfoleyuk

      Start slowly and get your skills up and then speed up. Try with your right hand in place and glide up with the left. get the feel fot it. Later use your right hand to slide up to a chord, slowly. Notice the angle you need, its almost like polishing the keys isn't it? then work on getting slowly faster each time

    I playing with YAMAHA MOTIF XS6, will this fast palm glissando break my keyboard?

    • @nickfoley7348
      @nickfoley7348 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s hard to say. Start slowly. You can use a different type of gliss if you are worries, slip up left to right with your left hand upside down leading with you first finger.
      It’s a lot less violent and a little slower but it’s a good place to start. I have broken a few clonewheel keys in my time!

    All of this was easily accomplished on the X66 (as it had an accessory for this purpose) without cutting your fingers..... ;)

    Probably Hammonds popularized that thing so much because it's light unweighted action keys. On the piano glissando is a bit risky for fingers and not used very often
