Well let’s think about this 1) zero build was only made for the CASUAL people who could not compete against build players 2) the core mechanic of the game is building so removing that takes the heart of the game out and is just a reskinned cod 3) most zero build cups are won by build pros or cheaters 4) when looking at it at a different perspective the core of zero build is more CASUAL and build mode is more COMPETITIVE because their is skill gaps thus making it actually competitive

Second, building isn't the only core mechanic of the game, aim and positioning are 2 huge parts of the game and any typical shooter (in builds but more so in zb). Also when you look at it from another perspective, zb requires much more skill to do certain things. (aim, movement, cover, ect.) so to say that builds requires more skill isn't true. As a competitive Zero Build player I find it very demotivating. To see players that download cheats on an account that has only logged four hours is so infuriating. I have been robbed of multiple chances of earning because of how many cheaters there are. I hope this new season will truly fix this outrageous problem.

Amazing video. I’m sad to see ZB go down this path but it makes sense, I’ve died to countless hackers in the victory cups and the most competitive part of ZB is how well you can camp.
Played Fortnite with a friend back in 2019. The game left horrible impression, so much that I became a hater. I hated building and this resulted in miserable experience. 3 days ago the same friend convinced me to try it out again as apparently there is now a zero-build mode... And well... I CAN'T STOP PLAYING. Seriously this game is so fire without building.
Honestly I will never play build mode. Feels like a kid who drank a red bull an espresso and then took an entire pixie stick with some dr pepper all in one go is going against me building excessively against me. Nah thanks ill stick to ZB. I dont care about botters hackers etc I play enough games where they are already a nuisance lol.

I think its good they are doing away with it and focusing on Reload. Zero Build deserves to remain casual, it works very well as a casual mode.

I really don't care about Competivive Zero Build I play the game casually so if competitive Dies for Zero Build I don't Care as long as fortnite doesn't get rid of it for Normal Modes
The real problem with comp ZB is that all the top ranked players are the build pros. What’s the point in these tournaments if the winners don’t even think they should exist?

I only play zero build. I stopped playing fortnite in 2018 and did not start until 2023 because of zero build. I enjoy reload but I only play the zero build version. I don’t see build mode competitive since each gun fight is the same exact thing since 2018.
The cheating is too much, it’s far past out of control. It’s not fun, and as far as I’m concerned at some point people will just stop playing games period. Like, let the cheaters have it

A thing I think you forgot to point out is that viewership plays an important part in fortnite competitive as a whole. So if casual builds have more players and viewership than casual zero builds that means there's a lack of interest in zero build competitive cause zero build competitive as a genre is an oxymoron. If zero builds comp had a similar amount of viewership as builds I can guarantee that epic wouldn't try to solve the issues but would still try to fund zero builds and makeup more tournaments for it. It doesn't also help that a zero build Lan with some of the biggest creators attending doesn't get much viewership then why would they makes a zero build fncs.
I’m an extremely casual player and generally i only really play to have fun with my friends, but every now and then i do fill squads. I’m always told how good of a player i am in zero build, and how i should start playing ranked and try and get earnings. I’ve tried for a bit, but this was a long time before the new level 350 requirement when zero build comp was filled with dma cheaters and aimbotters. Honestly, the competitive zero build nature should be moved over to reload mode. It’s a lot more orientated and logical, since before playground mode basically nobody got into actual build fights and the only point of building was to temporarily protect yourself, rest for heals, gaining slight height, those small things.
If youre really that good than its a no-brainer to play Comp, I'm wanting to, but you really can't be if you that casual. Game with mandatory crossplay should never have "competitive" mode in the first place. But still I love the fact that big portion of sweats who seek some form of accomplishment by playing 20 hours a day will move to build mode. Zero build is for chill dudes who want to shoot some other chill dudes and dont give a flying F about rank/mmr or whatever that thing is.

Zero build is casual and was always meant to be that way. It s motto: ADAPT or FALL! and it is still great! Also that is why zero build reload has half the players than reload battle royale. I don t think zero build requires a competitive mode at all. Will it replace build mode at some point ? probably. The skill gap is still great and new players will certainly go to zero build while old players will at some point move to ZB as they grow up or to other games.

Bro talks about certain problems as if they’re unchangeable. Was Fortnite originally designed for competitive play or for casual gamers who bring in revenue? Over time, it has evolved into the competitive game we all know, driven by the law of supply and demand. The same thing is happening to the zb mode, so If they’re interested in making a lot of money, they won’t scrap the mode, as long as the playerbase doesnt shrink
Nintendo never forced Smash to become competitive though. The competitive scene sprouted organically. Also, Smash games arent live service afaik (correct me if I'm wrong though), so there is no casual vs comp community issues. Trying to balance a live service game for both casual and competitive players is always disastrous. Both Valve and Epic tried forcing their respective products (TF2 and Zero Build Fortnite) to become competitive, and both just flopped because they aren't built in a way that can play competitively.

Just because Epic isn’t supporting it (like Nintendo doesn’t support Smash) doesn’t mean there can’t be a competitive scene. I agree there are some really good top ZB players with amazing AIM! Evolve Jake, Zaxarus to name two who DONT cheat! I think ZB could have better shooters because they don't waste their time on building and spend 80-90% of their time fighting instead, its bound to happen, but so does cheating..so EPIC needs to deal with that for ALL Comp, not sweep it under the rug!

Amazing video. I’m sad to see ZB go down this path but it makes sense, I’ve died to countless hackers in the victory cups and the most competitive part of ZB is how well you can camp.
Played Fortnite with a friend back in 2019. The game left horrible impression, so much that I became a hater. I hated building and this resulted in miserable experience.
3 days ago the same friend convinced me to try it out again as apparently there is now a zero-build mode... And well... I CAN'T STOP PLAYING.
Seriously this game is so fire without building.
If you're decent in zero build, do builds when you're bored you'll get in lower elo lobbies and stack kos with the 100 less hp
In other words this game is fire when you take the biggest skill demanding aspect out of it.

Honestly I will never play build mode. Feels like a kid who drank a red bull an espresso and then took an entire pixie stick with some dr pepper all in one go is going against me building excessively against me. But, zbm tourneys (in terms of playability) have been saved because of the 350 account level requirements for cash cups.

I think its good they are doing away with it and focusing on Reload. Zero Build deserves to remain casual, it works very well as a casual mode.
@@MiningJack777 “Saved” is not a word I would use. These cheaters buy something called a DMA and they run for a few hundred dollars. If they are willing to spend the money on that they will certainly buy an account that has an account level of 350.
I really don't care about Competivive Zero Build I play the game casually so if competitive Dies for Zero Build I don't Care as long as fortnite doesn't get rid of it for Normal Modes

I think competitive zero build (more acuratly ranked zero build) is a great place for teams to master the basics and add building in on top of that
i played a cash sup the other day i was first with 16 points, one game later everyone has over 90 points and every person i watched was aimbotting

I only play zero build. I stopped playing fortnite in 2018 and did not start until 2023 because of zero build. I enjoy reload but I only play the zero build version. I don’t see build mode competitive since each gun fight is the same exact thing since 2018.
The cheating is too much, it’s far past out of control. It’s not fun, and as far as I’m concerned at some point people will just stop playing games period. Like, let the cheaters have it

Well let’s think about this 1) zero build was only made for the CASUAL people who could not compete against build players 2) the core mechanic of the game is building so removing that takes the heart of the game out and is just a reskinned cod 3) most zero build cups are won by build pros or cheaters 4) when looking at it at a different perspective the core of zero build is more CASUAL and build mode is more COMPETITIVE because their is skill gaps thus making it actually competitive

A thing I think you forgot to point out is that viewership plays an important part in fortnite competitive as a whole. So if casual builds have more players and viewership than casual zero builds that means there's a lack of interest in zero build competitive cause zero build competitive as a genre is an oxymoron. If zero builds comp had a similar amount of viewership as builds I can guarantee that epic wouldn't try to solve the issues but would still try to fund zero builds and makeup more tournaments for it.
It doesn't also help that a zero build Lan with some of the biggest creators attending doesn't get much viewership then why would they makes a zero build fncs.

I’m an extremely casual player and generally i only really play to have fun with my friends, but every now and then i do fill squads. I’m always told how good of a player i am in zero build, and how i should start playing ranked and try and get earnings. I’ve tried for a bit, but this was a long time before the new level 350 requirement when zero build comp was filled with dma cheaters and aimbotters. Honestly, the competitive zero build nature should be moved over to reload mode. It’s a lot more orientated and logical, since before playground mode basically nobody got into actual build fights and the only point of building was to temporarily protect yourself, rest for heals, gaining slight height, those small things.
If youre really that good than its a no-brainer to play Comp, I'm wanting to, but you really can't be if you that casual. Too many good players, but level 350 is ridiculously high! 😆 Like wtf are they just reserving it only for the YT/Twitch streamers with their bot lobbies?! 🚩 Screw Rebuild is such a 💩show sweatbox with Squads, TOO many players, TOO crowded AND SOO SWEATY! 🤪💦 Forget playing with strangers who think team is spelled ME.

Zero build is casual and was always meant to be that way. It s motto: ADAPT or FALL! and it is still great! Also that is why zero build reload has half the players than reload battle royale. I don t think zero build requires a competitive mode at all. Will it replace build mode at some point ? probably. The skill gap is still great and new players will certainly go to zero build while old players will at some point move to ZB as they grow up or to other games.

i made earnings in builds and played zb last year and frm both prespectives and from somoene who used to say fornite isnt meant for zb, is not true and is nowhere a paradox, i dont think this video comes from somoene who actually played zb competetive. first the only reason zb died is because of absurd number of cheaters in fortnite and lack of competetive support just like anygame, fortnite doesnt need to be build for zb neither is pubg since most of late fights end in open with smokes, it is skilled and the main reason of its downfall is never being rly supported like builds, and since 1/4 of player base is zb saying the removel of it is bettor for builds is just a lack of wisdom comment

Great synopsis. However i dont agree. Zero build might be made for casual. But the movement and gunplay of zerobuild has a very high skill and taking fights cannbe quite sweaty. There is room for both. The fact that builds isnt as affected by cheaters doesnt inherently make it superior. Just means ot has itd own set of problema. Macros cough cough

Bro talks about certain problems as if they’re unchangeable. Was Fortnite originally designed for competitive play or for casual gamers who bring in revenue? Over time, it has evolved into the competitive game we all know, driven by the law of supply and demand. The same thing is happening to the zb mode, so If they’re interested in making a lot of money, they won’t scrap the mode, as long as the playerbase doesnt shrink

The entire Smash community comes from a party game, so idk how accurate your very last point was.
Nintendo never forced Smash to become competitive though. The competitive scene sprouted organically. Also, Smash games arent live service afaik (correct me if I'm wrong though), so there is no casual vs comp community issues. Trying to balance a live service game for both casual and competitive players is always disastrous. Both Valve and Epic tried forcing their respective products (TF2 and Zero Build Fortnite) to become competitive, and both just flopped because they aren't built in a way that can play competitively.
@@parispc smash itself is designed as a casual game. You can’t say “the competitive scene sprouted organically” when the same thing happened to ZB. Just because Epic isn’t supporting it (like Nintendo doesn’t support Smash) doesn’t mean there can’t be a competitive scene.
