It is quite normal for modern tanks to be so fast. Any European power would leave that specific Chinese tank in the dust.
Ad BT5 would leave a fighter jet in dust.

Maybe the Chinese tank is just heavier than the Russian one......The Chinese tank's turret is probably a lot heavier than the T-72's turret, I think. I don't know what engine the Chinese tank has, but it might be a variation of the T-72 engine.

ZTZ-99 family has vary little in common with T-72, their engine is obviously much different than that of soviet tanks.

In the early 1990s China produced one of its second generation prototypes, the Type 90-II series. The Type 90-II was designed by studying the T-72 tank.[7] The chassis was to be based on the T-72's hull but with Chinese subsystems.[8] The Type 90-II had a 125mm smoothbore cannon with an autoloader, modular composite armor and a centered driver position.[7][9] While the Type 90-II series ultimately did not enter PLA service, it saw success as an export tank and was built under license in Pakistan as the Al-Khalid.[7][10][11]
