    This is neat. I am a math teacher and was always happy I didn't have to teach kids to read. Haha. But this seems manageable (you always seem to make things look easy - haha).
    I've found that most things can be figured out though if I just organize it well enough.

      Lol i was nervous about it the first time, but it wasn’t so bad! Take it easy, and follow their learning pace 😊

      Appreciate Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive product for teaching children to read without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend got astronomical results with it.

    Great review! This book wasn’t a great fit for my son but I’m now using it with our almost five year old daughter and she’s enjoying it! Would love it if you could do a comparison review of this and Ordinary Patent’s Guide - it’s one Ive seen but not had a chance to flip through. Also, can you share about where you go after 100 Easy Lessons? Do you feel like it teaches them enough that they can just move on to readers like you can get at any library?

    • @mamatofive1
      @mamatofive1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We go onto BOB books and Dick and Jane, and then into more easy readers. Still always the student reading to me to make sure they’re getting it. 😊 Explode the Code is a good phonics workbook we’ve done after this too!

    I actually bought this for my 5 (almost 6) year old per your recommendation! She starts kindergarten this fall and I wanted to get a jump start on reading before she begins. It’s going great so far and she’s really enjoying it. :) Thank you for the recommendation!

    I missed what age exactly you start or what you look for before starting? My daughter is turning four and I’ve tried this book with her and just teaching her basic sounds and we review during the day and repeated days after but she has so much trouble remembering and just isn’t interested. My husband is determined to send her to school because she should “know these things because she’s expressing interest in reading”. I’m feeling like a failure before I even start. Any advice? 😣

      Oh goodness, he needs to maybe do some reading. Play is a childs most important work. Even if she didnt reading until 8, 9, or 10 it would be okay. Just read to her, play with letters, watch educational things like leap frog and show her mommy and daddy love books! Dont lose these gentle early years to stress! It will be perfectly okay.

    • @LifeinYellowknife
      @LifeinYellowknife 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      LearningEveryDay I believe that but he doesn’t. We both have to choose things for our children not just me. It’s hard to convince someone of something they just don’t believe. He believes the earlier she reads the more successful she will be. Thank you for the advice.. I’ll just keep praying.

      @@LifeinYellowknife I dont know if it will work with your husband but I will often gather actual research studies and books and approach my husband with a condensed informative conversation and he will listen and we have a talk. I am the one who researches but they are his kids too. If I present information in a factual manner he often sees things in a new way and we can agree. Like when I wanted to do cloth diapers. Also my husband was originally against homeschooling. Just be careful that your daughters performance isn't your bench mark for success in keeping her home because that's a ton of pressure for you both. I started out that way and it wasnt good. Also getting him around some homeschooling families you admire would be great. Reach out and find out if there are any family picnics in your area. Sometimes dads talking to dads helps tremendously. He might just be scared for your little one. Here is a link to get you started.

      I definitely don’t push it early! I’ve started when they’re around 5, but my son loves his lessons and can’t wait to do it. If your daughter isn’t interested, don’t push it yet! I hope you and your husband can get on the same page soon ❤️
