I love that I’ve been organising my undies like this for years, and thought I was a weirdo, but now everyone is realising how much sense it makes with space and organising.
Needing to get my clothes together and organized since my closest has bled into the spare room and my sister is moving in with me for a few years while in school. This will hopefully help me actually use the dresser I tend to avoid using so help free up space and get things sorted
I fold the same, but put the pants down with the fold up. It looks nicer and is easier for kids to grab. Many of their clobbering smaller are too thick with a final fold of 3 so I modifiit to fit the drawers, but love the filing system. It is life changing.
I'm not sure why this was recommended for me or why I watched it, but it was and I did. I'm actually going against my desire to be lazy and put off laundry for another time and going to go do it now so that I can try this.
I don’t have a place to store my clothing upright, and no room for more furniture, what would be a good way to fold and organize my clothes if I only have shelfs?
@Cloudnado I have the same problem... It took me some time to realize that the KonMari method is most probably designed for a different kind of furniture than I have at my home. I have about 40-50 years old pieces of furniture (and not enough money to buy the new ones) and there are almost no drawers, just large and deep shelves. My current idea is to buy boxes that would fit into the shelves and store my clothing in them (so I can take one box at a time and see the vertically stored clothes from above). But I'll end up with a lot of unusable space above (end possibly also behind) the boxes :-(.
I've been searching for the solution to this problem for days, but in every video I see there is a drawer or a small-shelves closet: I have a big closet with *really deep* shelves, there is no way I could see what's in the back :(

Hi, I've been folding shirts her way but on the other side to see the print as you suggest, and it works just fine! It's also easier to see which shirts are which. But it can be tricky with some large or loose shirts, so I normally fold those as Marie says
Tips on organising indian wear like Sarees and long salwar? Other than using hangers , which are tricky too i just fold them and lay them one on top of another. Quite difficult to maintain it organised..
Generally, yes. BUT....in my life I classify my shirts in two categories: those I like to wear in public and my at-home shirts. The public ones reside in my closet on hangers (that don’t leave shoulder marks) and the private ones are folded and stowed in a drawer.
I have never folded in my life. My life is a messy chaos, but I can start like this, it seems doable and i am not crying as much as I would have (cleaning is painful for me) maybe i can learn to enjoy cleaning idk yet
The 'rolling stuff up' only comes into play when you have to pack a suitcase... otherwise I have enough room for my stuff and I can avoid the additional drapes.

Ikea has jumped on the hype. Got a simple white box about 10cm high and 40cm wide today. Fits perfectly in my closet and is good for putting clothes away like this.
it completely mind boggles me that we just dont get taught this growing up my parents taught me to do it horizontally and it never made sense- when you pick up a piece of clothing from underneath all the rest is gonna shuffle and become a mess. (so i always got lazy because whats the point of spending an hour organizing everything if its only good for me to get 3 pieces of clothing out of it at most) if you pick it from above, the other pieces are going to remain unbothered :v

I worked in some high end stores and that's the second thing they teach you how to fold correctly..

Store them into correct sized baskets or pretty boxes that fit your shelves.
Throw on floor... That's what I do, works great.
