At 5:58 you should not have countered the pact of negation using your pact, you should have countered the daemonic consultation, in order to force the 5 mana pact trigger on your opponent next turn. It’s a little thing, but it is an easy way to cripple people and with the regularity of Pact, you can do this quite often.
These videos are so enjoyable to watch, I recently started trading/selling out of cEDH but I still love the format so this is a great way to enjoy it

what a mistake countering the pact with a pact at 5:47, should've targeted the consultation so he would still have the pact trigger next turn cutting his mana
I had the same line in mind. Definitely the most optimal play there. I’ve often let somebody’s pact resolve in a big stack war before interacting at certain points

@@piawesome If you want to read more about the combos from their decks, most of them just use the decks from the cEDH database. It hosts a lot of decks, many of which have in depth explanations of combos, card choices, and strategies :)
Sorry if this is no longer relevant but hopefully someone gets use from this.
The ruling on chain veil is that it keeps track of how many times it has been activated then allows future planeswalkers the ability to use those activations. IE 5 activations of chain veil then casting Teferi allows you to use his (the teferi you just cast) ability 5 times +1 natural time, so, you need at minimum a 2 mana producer, veil and 2 lands/1 mana rocks.
Teferi -1x5 gets you 5 chain veil activations which is okay but not great, you now need to recast teferi or your turn is over but if you can recast him just 1 time you more or less go infinite even without producing more than 4 mana per use. The final time you cast teferi you +1 him n times where n=cards in deck, after that thasa jace or lab man wins the game.
You can also make infinite mana as long as you produce 5+ mana per activation. So long as you can cast him again in 1 turn, in all situations he needs to be out on the battlefield at least 2x for him to win the game (as far as I know)
Really like you guys commentating on the game , it helps us understand some aspects of the game we might have missed, and I wish more channels did it.
I do wish there was less card snapping though, it gets very noticeable and a tad hard to listen to.
Also, how sweet is Kenrith as a commander? Willy Wonka sweet? Southern iced tea sweet? I'm thinking triple pump vente mocha frap with extra caramel with whip, add pumpkin spice kind of sweet.

I feel like I don't have enough time to process the decisions being made. It helps when you pause and explain, but my brain can only keep up with what's happening, not what advantage is being gained or what decisions are getting made.

You can't dig through time in response to Deathrite shaman exiling a land from your graveyard. It's a mana ability.
Also! Do you guys think you could use something like cockatrice? I recently started using it on pc, it still captures the feeling on playing cards, and I use discord to talk. Maybe something to consider?

Why didn't Dylan try to go off with flash hulk while breya cast was on the stack?
He figured out that at least two players had countermagic that he couldn't get through (he only had 3 cards in hand - flash, hulk, and some card that wasn't a counterspell), so he wouldn't win at any point.
He could have tried, but Tyler had already tutored up a Pact of Negation and Nate had one in hand as well

I have been working on a hybrid going green flash hulk deck with 2 hulk lines; 1 (blood pet, thassa's oracle, spellseeker - demonic consultation) 2. (shuffle nomad's en kor, cephalid illusionist) and I have a jace on standby as well. But I did add biomancer's familiar and windborn muse for a lot of value. My question is, how many win lines do you guys build into your decks?

Edit: wait, just read the Oracle text of carpet of flowers and you couldn’t have done that because carpet only triggers once a turn

I've noticed these multiple-color lists have completely stopped running basics.
Is there anything that can be done about the snapping of the cards? It takes away from the gameplay.
I was wondering what is the advantage of playing Teferi over Urza? From my experience, Teferi is much slower, while the gameplay is not as different
Teferi can run Cursed Totem and Stasis.
The only upside is being able to play cursed totem.In general Urza pretty much outclassed Teferi both in short and long games.
Why not have the second pact target the consultation rather than pact? Then they still have to pay and loose.

deathrite shaman is actually not a mana ability. one of the conditions for an ability to be a mana ability is to not target anything, while deathrite shaman targets the land from the graveyard so it violates that condition and is not a mana ability. not all abilities that produce mana are mana abilities.
