I think your team looks good without wild card every season we always end up looking enviously at the managers who have similar points without the WC in November and December.
Think it depends how you will feel if Salah gets 10+ points but also if you bring him in and he blanks... As you say, if you get him and WC you end up with a similar team to what you can get in GW6 with FTs if you dont go Salah. Whats more powerful, a WC or Salah (C) over Haaland (C) vs Arsenal at home... If you stick with Saka Worst case scenario (without Red Cards/Own Goals etc)... Salah gets 40 points as C and Haaland gets 4 points as C. Its a 36 point swing... But you have a WC to capitalise later on in the season Another Scenario is Salah struggles and gets a goal and assist a 26 point C and Haaland gets a goal and bonus (16-18 points?). Meaning you're 10 points down but dont need to Wildcard Best case Scenario. Salah blanks for (4-6 points) as Captain and Haaland scores a goal or two vs Arsenal at home for 18+ points Think people are underestimating how good City are at home and everything goes through Haaland at the moment so I wouldnt be surprised if he almost matches Salah.
@@novelty8theory494 yeah, he did! Its completely possible he blanks… Inter are just as good defensively as Arsenal if not better and CL getting a draw away in the early stages is as good as a Win tbh as that should give them a much better chance of finishing top 8. Arsenal have already dropped points and have conceded lots chances to lesser teams this year. I think it will be 2-0 City personally and Haaland will get 1 of them hopefully
I don’t think Salah is essential for GW5. If they were playing a weaker team , fair enough but Bournmouth are not a bad team at all. Man City are projected to score 1.7 goals so I would predict that Haaland will score 1 goal. Liverpool are expected to score 2.7 so I would expect 1 goal from Salah and maybe an assist. The difference isn’t big enough I don’t think to use a transfer and force an early wildcard.
Feel like youre just gonna get tempted by the deadline by the wildcard and instant gratification, lol. But think about it.... Everything you've talked about as to not wildcarding makes perfect sense. Like, that's a very good team in GW 6 and 7 without wildcarding. That wildcard would be much more effective around Christmas time I'm sure of it.
The problem with Haaland is that Real Madrid, Inter and Arsenal have found a strategy to counter Guardiola (all 11 players defending inside the box). More and more teams will start to play like this against City, so I'm expecting less goals from all City players.
Parking the bus/low block isn’t a new strategy that teams are suddenly aware of, lots of teams already try and employ that strategy against city but fail ( since ultimately it depends on the quality of your players and organisation). City still had decent chances against Milan and put up 2.3 Xg so you could say Milan were somewhat fortunate not to concede.
That a terrific team Andy without wildcarding..... but Havertz 3 games after City, Salah too..... it's frustrating. Personally Id' just get in Salah and Vardy now, then wildcard like normal if I were you. Stressfree
A piece of advice from someone who admittedly doesn't have a lot of high fpl rankings: historically, in fpl, the 4.5 - 5.5 players... they score about as many points as expected. You better think you know different this time around if you want to play four of them to enable a Haaland plus Salah side. For me I think Smith Rowe and Robinson look the most promising.
