I’m halfway through my first panning experience. I have to say watching the videos is great, but there’s nothing like finding that first flake. Love it
Yay this year I found $56 of gold going by your figures... Scottish gold. Since I started I've improved my technique so here's to even more gold next year. Cheers
A few years ago, up in the black hills of South Dakota, I had a local gift me a gallon zip top bag of natural dried creek bed soil. He mentioned he collected it after a flooding event that turned his dry creek into a fast flowing natural creek for a week and brought along a bunch of dirt and debris. He said he came across a thin layer between the hard packed gravel and layer of organic material that had new deposits of gold. And yes, the bag had some gold.
For Christmas, I got a Gold Bay 1 gram bag with an extra gram added. I opened the bag, dumped it in a pan and while baked and using a finger in dry dirt, I pulled up 1.20g in pickers without even classifying a thing. It was at that point where I realized that the last gold I got from Dave has increased by $20 a gram in value. I love gold.
Not long ago not too far from my location which is pure suburbia, someone known to our community collected garden topsoil ( best way to describe), there was a respectable amount of wire gold found !! After eons of depositions , the shiney shouldn’t surprise it can be anywhere……. even homemaker centre sand bags !!!! A surprise !!??
Maybe it's my eternally optimistic, looking at the bright side of things talking here, but I can see a value in that dirt. Like it might not be good for training for a person looking to really delve into gold finding. I can see a really young child having a lot of fun with this bag. They can slosh it around, make a mess and not lose any gold. Yeah, I can see it as a fun activity for a small child.
Hey Klesh, love your videos. Haha it's called a "Golden Dirtbag", can't tell you how many times I been called a dirtbag lol. Where can I get gold pans or highbanker for a really decent price? As cheap as possible, I wanna find enought to have turned into a wedding ring
I was shopping at savers thrift store in salt lake city Utah and they had a bag of paydirt with a pan. That was about 5 years ago. I plan on learning to pan this weekend. On the package it started "2 to 4 grams guaranteed" in this bag . I guess I'll find out.
Thanks Shane though it seems the return would have been much greater given it was purchased at a yard sale. You didn't account for that, did you find out for how much? If it were bought for $5 that would more than tripple the amount of return today and still a profit back then. 😅
I dunno, $15 a bag and it was listed as "beginner" training dirt so maybe thats why it was so easy. Just something to give a total novice a go at finding gold
I have a silly question. I live south Louisiana. Right next to my house there is a very old natural river. Would it be a complete waste of time to try and find ANY gold from panning it? It would be just for fun obviously so finding a flake would be awesome. But I'm not sure if it's even remotely possible
#1, do research. I googled "does Louisiana have gold" and the answer is yes, but in what appears to be fairly limited areas, mostly to the north. It does seem to have at least one area to the south, so you might be lucky.
Klesh, I love watching your videos and I have tried panning (after watching your tutorial) and yet I just get irritated. Would you be interested in me sending you the stuff I have panned before to see if I possibly missed anything?
As soon as we hear “Crusty Rusty”, the music starts and it’s so dang soothing! Shane, is that you picking those strings, both banjo and guitar? We all hear you say you really don’t play, but you build guitars, so we know you know a few chords and phrases… 😉👍🏻😃
"Never thought I would get mad at a bag of dirt, but here we are" Classic! Love your videos, keep it up!

Bought some paydirt from you Shane for my daughter. She has been bitten by the gold bug....LOL

Some of the biggest gold i have found here in the Willamette Valley was flood gold sitting on organics.
Thanks for the consistent videos and explanation of the process!

Nice!
Speaking of yard sales (they're called garage sales here in Australia) I do enjoy your yard sales videos.
We have both... The terms are generally interchangeable
yard sale is usually house stuff. garage sale is generally more tools at least in my area of USA. but both terms are used.
we have yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, family sales, liquidation sales.. etc all are interchangeable.
Let’s do this! Also, “Golden dirt bag” was my nickname in high school 😂
Good gold, but bad dirt. Weird stuff. Thanks for sharing Shane.
Hello, from Florida.
Another great video thank you
I'm in jax. I wanna go to north Georgia to try my hand at panning

I guess that’s going to remain a mystery. I guess they wanted to make it easier for the beginner.
Hey klesh I love your content.
I've never panned before and was hoping on getting your dort
Another fun video. Thanks!
Another awesome video ✌️🙂👍
Got screwed! That was the name of a band I played with on the underground scene. Mostly grunge but some rap.

Appreciate the videos
I hope your coming to PA...... Please.. lol. Berks county. We could meet up at Cabalas anyone near here. would be great. I do metal detecting also.
Just did a few videos over there, but I visit PA a few times a year. I have a US tour coming in 2025 so im sure I'll be back in the northeast
42% whoop whoop 👍🇨🇦
I really don’t know much about bags but maybe it is for easy finding.
It's just a lack of consideration for the customer if you ask me.

Send it to me , I'll make a video and send everything back. If you want, email me, all info in the description 👍⛏
They named it Dirt Bag, at least they were honest.
Nice!
MAYBE THEY WERE DOING THAT TO MAKE IT EASIER TO PAN FOR NEWBIE MEMBERS. GREAT VIDEO.
so much for "training" gold pay dirt, thanks for the video

Haha didn't even consider that angle.
"let's get that out on to a pan"
Still a good video

It still should be called in to the paydirt police
Nice
Hey there 👋

There is always a possibility to get gold from a creek

Make sure to classify and examine the rocks too. Louisiana has precious opal too.
hahahaha 6:04
Maybe one of there kids got to make it??
Ya that dirt way to light

Klesh, I love watching your videos and I have tried panning (after watching your tutorial) and yet I just get irritated. Would you be interested in me sending you the stuff I have panned before to see if I possibly missed anything?
Yeah but that bag now, with inflation would be like 25$
Calling Tom and Perry "Dirt bags" was what I thought this video was going to be about. Too Bad,,,,*
Go dirt
Haha just joking but I hope that’s not some old gold schlager that someone thought to mine . After they went #2
1st 👍 Hi EVERYONE
