Thanks for the great tips. Staking down the T4 before pulling out the sides and the great tip on the MSR tarp. For the ladies, I use the Byer of Maine Easy Cot. No assembly required. Great video. Thanks.

Thank you for showing a different way to tie down the MSR footprint over the roof mesh. Did not think of that way. Much better setup to keep heat in and blowing wind out.
It worked a little too well, since I do not use a heater I got quite a bit of frozen condensation in the tent but it was certainly warmer. Your system is certainly a good one and I appreciate your sharing.
I use the Portable Buddy Heater in my Gazelle tent. I turn it off before I go to sleep. In the morning, I turn the heater back on and any condensation inside the tent is eliminated. I lay a small emergency fire blanket under the heater for safety.
@@bon3906 I have had a buddy heater for years but only have it for emergency home heat. I thought about it that morning as it would have helped dry out the tent. Not looking like I will get any good cold weather to test it this year but next time I will give it a go.
Canadian Military 101 "snow on the floor " lol we were never allowed to stay on cot if it was freezing. I was always told it was because of air around the cot
I always thought the same thing but with this well insulated sleeping pad it is very comfortable. Keep in mind that I have not had a chance to use this system in temps lower than 14 degrees but I will post an update if I do. Thanks for watching!
@bluox i just bought the t4. I was thinking of buying some disco beds. Do you think they will fit well?
@@TheHenryway What size of disco bed are you looking at, I see a number of different ones. My Timberridge is 74.41 x 25.59 and that is as big as I would want to go. Enjoy your T4, I love mine, and thanks for watching!
Oh, yeah….comfort! I have a couple of Teton cots a regular one and the cot/tent which is massive, for a few bucks more (I think less than 10) it has a piece that helps placing that last pole in the cot. Leaving the self inflating mat open for several hours will inflate it more, the advantage of self inflating is that they don’t deflate with cold weather, yours looks sooo comfy and thick, unfortunately at 65 I’d have a hard time rolling it, but you’re making me jealous. I’ve been camping for 40+ years and still do, now I need easy pitch tents but hey, I’m still doing it. Thanks for the suggestion to check this video up. You make good videos and I subbed. Have you tried the heat exchanger cooking pots? They sure heat up things faster, meaning coffee on a cold morning lol. Jet Boil is very expensive I have Bulin, good quality and more affordable, they also work with Trangia, cutting down your fuel consumption which in my case since I go for 2-3 consecutive weeks although I don’t backpack (I also have Gazelle T4) helps not having to buy fuel from the little stores overcharging for fuel. Nice property! I never thought using the bed pad on top of the chair, Thanks again, I enjoy the videos.
I am just a few years behind you and I agree, comfort is becoming the key issue! I was raised tent and tent trailer camping, went to backpacking (still do some) but now really enjoy my vehicle camping. I have only been doing this for a couple of years and I am a firm believer in constantly improving your system. These videos have been fun in that I get people like your self that provide insight into their systems and help me fine tune my own. I love my Jet Boil stoves (I have three) but would not purchase them just for car camping. The heat exchanger pots are great but with my new camp stove I don't really need them, the Camp Chef Everest 2X is like using a large Jet Boil! @@bluox improving the camp gear? Or addicted to camping and gear like me lol. I’m in California with the fire bans I’ve had to do some improvements/adjustments too. Your property is so nice! I live in the mountains by the National Forest, not too shabby either.
@@carmenmartinez2882 I am definitely a gear nerd and love perfecting my system almost as much as actually camping! I will be building on the property this year so probably be camping in some of my other spots in the future. At least you live in the good part of California!!

Blue thx for the video cheers inhave a question I got metalcloack spring in my gladiator but in the rear the spring are dampen yours do too is annoying I ordered the metalcloack shocks to see if got better but im waiting to arrive to see
I had the MetalCloak 3.5 in lift with the 6PAK shocks and had to go with different rear springs due to the weight in the back. If you have the heavy rack with lots of gear I imagine that you have the same issue as it is common with Gladiators. I tried the EVO plush ride 4 inch springs in the back with 1.5 inch Teraflex spacers and it was a little too high and soft. I replaced the EVO springs with Clayton Offroad 3.5 inch HD triple rate springs and kept the spacers and now the ride height is perfect. I don't think that the 6PAK shocks are working well with the weight and am looking into putting new shocks on as well. Good luck with your build and thanks for watching!
