My dad passed 15 yrs ago. We camped out to go hunting and I'd get to have some donuts and chocolate milk that my mom would never let me have. and he would let me drive the backroads. I'm looking forward to mountain biking adventures with my son and some camping too.

Interesting tent, not going inside of the truck bed. Never seen one set up like that before. Desmond is an old pro already! great job he did batoning wood and starting the fire. Nice video, glad you guys got out to enjoy some father/son time. Didn't have that when I was growing up.

Got the same setup for my F150 a couple seasons ago so I could camp easily while towing my bass boat. Fair weather only for me but kudos to you and your son

Omg...Desmond is the BEST camping buddy ever! Love seeing father and son enjoying the outdoors together. What an awesome kid Desmond is (besides being so darn CUTE!). Btw: I love that percolator that you brought with you...back in the day my dad used one to make his morning coffee every day. It smelled so good! Maybe that's why I'm a coffee addict! LOL

Awesome video as always.. Nice idea with the tent cot.. tip for the titanium cups,. Get some Snow Peaks hot lips from Amazon. They help alot preventing hot chocolate lip burns. Works with Tea and coffee too.

It has been fun to watch your son grow over the years hers. I expect when hits teens he will be taller than you! We did not camp but I often went fishing with my Dad growing up..truly great memories.....I was his only child..a girl!.

Maybe you need to put some snow or cold water to keep him from burning his lips.. I'm a Grandma just a suggestion to make it just a little nicer to enjoy his drink.. You are such a fun Dad to take him camping. Great memories..

Sleeping in a truck tent at -17...Jesus that is crisp. Jeremy, did you switch from the Durango to the RAM pickup? Great that you took your son with you. You will make a bushcrafter out of him for sure. I have never seen that style of truck tent before. It is pretty interesting. I am going camping 🏕with my wife for Easter. I am jacked about our first trip of the season.

It is a crazy, mixed up, insane world...then you decide to take your kid out camping in the wilderness and snow...suddenly nothing is mixed up our insane and the world is right and perfect. Time together, good food, a warm fire...and you come to realize what is really important...the simple things. Awesome ...God Bless !!!

The percolator won't need that filter you put in the bottom if you just buy thick grind coffee...far EASIER...I never get grinds in my coffee every and have percolated for many many years while camping.... it's one of the few luxury items I pretty much bring with me everywhere. Rare I leave it behind... I've been through 100 different percolators ranging from cheap to expensive.. and the one that has outlasted them all with my camping is a cheap $20 one i bought at Walmart.... I know another guy with the same one, and we BOTH swear it was the best purchase ever.....

Thanks, i currently have 20 filters and fine grind coffee to use up first, the paper filters also remove the oils that can cause high cholesterol.
@@Lonewolfwildcamping wasn't even aware that oils from coffee beans could cause high cholesterol. But of course that Caffeine is one of the most addictive drugs on the planet......but I was an addict long ago and it likely won't change any time soon, because I love the taste of coffee... I've never had high cholesterol ever and have been doing it that way for years and years.... even prefer percolated coffee at home......Love the video's bud! You've inspired me to get a hot tent and I think I'm going with pomoly, after 5 years of everything I've seen.. it was a close call between Seek Outside and Pomoly for gear...but I think I'm finally deciding after years of watching video's to try to figure out what the best one to buy is.. Last time I hot tented Canadian Military Bell Tents were the norm with home made stoves or fabricated stoves.. or those old canister stoves the military used to have....which of course wasn't forgiving with weight at all.. took an army to get the stuff in and out.... So I'm thankful your doing decent reviews of more modern equipment that helps obviously to sell it too. It helped me make up my mind for next winter....for sure.. Those Pomoly SToves look spectacular in comparison to other things on the market for packing in....the tents i'm a bit drawn on because of the weight but when you consider that winter tents like the Eureka K2 XT is 12.5 lbs it's no big deal to add another pound to the weight and get some warmth out of it with room for three to four men instead of just two men like the Eureka K2 XT...although the moisture build up is of course my primary concern being experienced myself.. i remember the bell tents we had to super heat them before packing them up with all the moisture in this area with the great lakes.... So I'm not expecting things to have changed that way....but the material looks easy to wipe off when warmed with a buff or a hanky so I'm looking forward to warmth in a tent again....can't wait for next winter...cheers!

Your son is picking up some very valuable life skills from you...that's awesome! He'll be an avid outdoorsman as well. I like how you used the tent cot. I have a single version and it's pretty comfortable after putting a Teton base camp mat in it replacing the thin mat. As cold as it was I would have been sleeping in the back of my SUV in a zero degree bag (fahrenheit) or I would be at home in front of the fireplace :) At my age comfort is everything.

I enjoy watching a father spend time out camping and doing things with his children and teaching them the basics of camping and bushcraft; this is something I wish my dad could have had enough time to take us camping but with 7 children within 9 years meant he spent a lit of his time working and /or doing odd jobs for friends
