    This piece is probably not too popular due to the fact that this piece is very tiring for most horn players.

    OK, so there aren't a lot of members of the Othmar Schoeck Fan Club which is too bad but understandable. He was a talented fellow who wrote music that was too conservative for its day, but what he wrote was musical and coherent. This is an interesting piece and is well performed. His lack of popularity may be attributed to his desire to be more modern than his style would tolerate, so let's say that he is an acquired taste. It is possible that Swiss music is nor more popular than Swiss restaurants.

      Thank you very much for your interesting comment, Stephen. Maybe what you say is true. Language and form are precisely inherent. Sustaining a conservative structure, trying to introduce a more modern language than it supports, is not a good idea.
