Each of the 3 pays 333,333 USD, and then they have a playoff where winner faces Gukesh.
    (Or 499,999 USD.)
Fabi & Nepo were about to bet 1m USD on 15+0 with Hans & Nodirbek, so surely 333,333 isn't a problem.

Gukesh will EASILY beat Liren. LOL. Thanks.
      Q1
Note that they'd not be ONLY buying their way in. They're runner-ups in the candidates.
Same as when Magnus dropped. Like imagine if Liren or FIDE had actually, for all we know, bought out Magnus. Unlikely that really happened but anyway in this case we're being overt and legal about it.
( Actually, Magnus WAS bought out for 0 USD. Lol. I'm sure no one would have an issue if Liren, FIDE or Nepo paid Magnus 1 USD to drop out. Even 100 USD. But suddenly, if it gets to 333,333 USD or 666,666 USD then... )
It's not like, say, Wesley or Anish who were close but no cigar
... or even like MVL, Levon or Leinier who weren't close to candidates buys. Of course that's completely absurd.
Now my point precisely is that the fact that it has to come to this means the title is already cheapened, rather than that the buying out would cheapen a non-cheap title. To me, the buying out is an acknowledgement of that the title was already cheapened:
      1.1- Magnus dropped WCC &
1.2- Sergey was banned (maybe Magnus coerced fide to ban Sergey)
      1.3- Liren had suspicious tournaments
1.4- Liren beat Nepo in rapid tiebreaks because they don't do classical Armageddon w/ auction. (This tiebreaker I believe works in classical 9LX but maybe not in classical chess1. To me, this is another reason classical chess1 is dead. But rapid/blitz chess1 needn't be dead.)
1.5- Magnus dropped the world cup qualifier, so Nijat got in
1.6- Then Gukesh won because candidates is round robin not knockout.
1.7- Hence, Gukesh focused on beating Nijat.
1.8- Candidates are RR not KO (after Bobby Fischer changed in 1962) because Magnus said in 2011 that they kept making short draws in classical (and again because tiebreaks are not classical armageddon w/ auction).
1.9- The 2026 candidates does not have a wildcard for the 2024 classical WCC runner-up. LOL. Wonder why!
      What do you think?
      Q2
Assuming FIDE agrees, why would Liren Fabi Nepo Hikaru not agree?
      Q3
Assuming FIDE Fabi Nepo Hikaru agree, why wouldn't Liren agree?
      Q4
So Liren can dropout, i.e. be bought out for 0 USD, but not be bought out for 1m USD. What is the limit?
      - If Liren is bought for 1 USD, then is that ok?
      - 100 USD?
      - 10k USD?
      - 100k USD?
      Q5
Finally, this is nothing meant to be against Liren, who is actually on my bad guys list.
If we let Liren face Gukesh, then Liren will be humiliated in the world stage. That's great for me but bad for chess.
( What's bad for chess1 is usually good for me since I love 9LX and hate chess1, but in this case I think it's bad for 9LX too. )
Au contraire, my purpose is to let Liren retire with dignity. This is magnanimous on the part of Fabi, Nepo, Hikaru & FIDE. They are giving their own personal money to Liren to say
'Hey, you don't have to go through this humiliation. You already do deserve the 1m USD.'
It's not like governments who pay out of taxpayers' money or something. But if tax payers here are sponsors, then FIDE can and probably should consult sponsors then. If the sponsors say no, then ok I guess.
So I think anyone who disagrees with me is saying either Liren actually has good chances (yeah right) or ... they WANT Liren to suffer this humiliation. Lol.
What do I misunderstand? I mean, do you WANT Liren to suffer this humiliation? Do you WANT chess to suffer this embarrassing episode?

    • @panda4247
      @panda4247 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

How complex answer do you want?
There is no "men's tournament". It's called the "open" section, and women can play in thise tournaments. You can sometimes see a top woman competing in a top tournament (e.g. Hou Yifan, Ju Wenjun, Judit Polgar, or even Nona Gaprindashvili from the old generation (btw, part of the Beth Harmon character is based on her).
However there are much less women than men in chess, so therr are aeparate women's tournaments and titles to encourage more women to play.
Then there is the issue of sexism in various forms (harrasment, prejudice, stupid comments... or things like the Ana Rudolf lipstick incident (she won over some guy, who the accused her of having an engine in the lipstick)) which happens quite often to women playing in the open touranments, so many prefer the women's events.
