    Concerning the commandments prohibiting the adding or subtracting from the word of the Lord (Deut 4:2 and Rev 22:18-19) you can add infant baptism, women ordination, modern day apostles and prophets, preterism, dispensationalism, replacement theology, dual covenant theology, amillennialism, post millennialism, dominionism, etc, etc, and especially the one lie that is wreaking havoc in the church and on the salvation of so many christians is the pretribulation rapture. When an opinion becomes doctrine, then it is either true or it is a lie, and we find that most of the time, if not always, it is a lie.

      Then what do we do with the following scriptures, chuck them out? 1 Corinthians 12:27-31
      27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
      28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
      29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
      30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
      31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. Ephesians 4:11-16
      11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
      12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
      13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

      @@ASeedSower234 Correct me if I am wrong, but as I read your comment I believe you are objecting to my comment made concerning Apostles and prophets. Assuming you are, let me begin with what scripture says. Scripture does not teach that there is any Apostolic succession, that is to say that there is an office of Apostle which is attainable to anyone who decides they want to be an Apostle, or who is appointed by someone else who believes they are an Apostle. Just to be clear, I am talking about big A Apostle, one who has the power and authority to bind or loose. We know that one of the twelve, Judas, was replaced by Matthias.
      Matthias had to meet certain requirements in order to even qualify for consideration for replacing Judas. From the time he replaced Judas right to the beginning of the second century, there is absolutely no evidence, whether scriptural, or historical of any Apostle being succeeded by any disciple. The last Apostle known to be alive was John, who had a number of disciples himself. None of the early church fathers, including John’s disciples, mention anything about John passing on his Apostolic authority to anyone. We also know through historical records and some traditions that have survived to this day, that most, if not all, the other Apostles were martyred. Some of these accounts can be questioned because of a lack of evidence, but one things is indisputable is that there is absolute silence as to wether any Apostle had passed on his anointing to anyone.
      There were twelve Apostles chosen for Israel and only twelve. Paul was the only one appointed to be an Apostle by our resurrected Lord, and although he first preached to the Jews, he ultimately became an Apostle to the gentiles as well as the Jews. He as well was martyred in Rome with his Apostolic authority ending as well. So, the question that needs to be asked is, does the “church” today need Apostles? In 1 Cor 3:11 we know that no other foundation can be laid, other than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. Is Christ not sufficient? Is not the New Testament sufficient for salvation? Paul also says to the Ephesians in chapter 2:19-22 that we build on the same foundation in 1 Cor 3:11, that this very foundation has been laid by the Apostles, the prophets, with Christ being the very cornerstone from which the whole foundation is built off of. To put it plainly, we have all the commandments, rules, principles, precepts, the doctrines on which any church or individual builds his tabernacle today or until Christ our Lord returns.
      I will say, and can prove, unequivocally that the “church” today does not need any Apostle/s, and that anyone who claims to be an Apostle today, can and will prove to be self deceived as well as being a deceiver. Thank goodness everything is recorded today! I can give you a long list, and growing, of names of men and women who claim to be an Apostle and everyone of them can be shown to falsely prophesy and teach lies. The challenge to you is, if you believe in the “five fold ministry”, modern day Apostles and prophets, then provide me with just ONE name of someone you believe to be an Apostle, or prophet, but one who can be vetted. The whole charismatic/pentecostal, and now NAR movement, with all affiliates, are built on a foundation of lies. And since we know that truth never comes from a lie, that these movements will continue to slide into a deeper apostasy, and will soon qualify for 2 Thess 1:8-9 and 2 Thess 2:10-12 and finally Rev 22:15.
      This I will say about prophets, I believe, I know, that a believer can utter a prophecy but that does not make them a prophet. The scriptures make it clear what the calling and purpose of a prophet was, and what we are witnessing today far exceeds any semblance of what might be perceived or understood to be the will of God. And like all those who claim to be Apostles, anyone who claims to be a prophet today will be, over time, shown to be deceived and a deceiver. Everyone of them speaking presumptuously in the name of the Lord God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit will see the wrath of the Lord poured out on them.
      Let me finish with this. The only true revival this unbelieving world, unbelieving Israel, and the apostate church will ever see is when the two witnesses begin their 3 1/2 year ministry from Jerusalem. Make no mistake, these two Apostles/prophets will be hated by all three, but the true gospel will be preached in the whole world for the very last time. This will be a coming to Mount Sinai moment for the whole world. No prophet or Apostle shall arise outside of the nation of Israel. All things to the Jew first then to the gentile. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Be blessed!

      @@ASeedSower234 if you read my last post carefully you will see that I am not a cessationist nor do I believe all the lies that come from the Pentecostal/charismatic/nar church, concerning signs and wonders as being the operation of the Holy Spirit. At some point in the early church the signs and wonders needed to subside so that the gospel should take eminency and be preached. Salvation does not come from seeing or chasing after miracles but comes from the written word, which we are told, blessed are all those who come to believe in Christ afterward based on the testimony of others, having not seen. How is it that so many want to believe they have the power of the Holy Spirit in them so they can perform the same miracles Christ did but when it comes to the scripture where Christ says “it is a perverse and evil generation that seeketh after a sign” they completely ignore it? One is sadly deceived if they think in order to have validation of one’s salvation is to have a continuing emotional experience which is brought on by wicked men and women who maliciously manipulate people into a hyper state of emotions which leads to hysteria which lends one to maybe have a psychosomatic healing. It seems God is at their beckoning call the same time every time a service is held. Do you not find that to be questionable? Joel chapter 2 and the final fulfillment of the out pouring of the Holy Spirit will not happen until the two witnesses begin their ministry. And there is no need for any Apostle or prophet in the church today, as no Apostle or prophet shall arise outside of the nation of Israel. I hope I made it clear what I believe, although not having exhausted myself in explaining what or why I believe what I believe. What exactly do you disagree with? If you come from the Pentecostal/charismatic/nar perspective then the burden of proof is squarely on you. I have experienced the mercy and grace of the Heavenly Father and I know to whom I belong and serve, but working out my salvation is certainly not dependent on a continuing, weekly emotional roller coaster ride. I am subject to the Holy Spirit and He is not subject to me. Feel free to comment if you should desire to. Blessings!

    The church was only born in man's mind, not in scripture. Yeshua did not come to start a new religion or an entity called the church. Please give me a scripture from the Tanak which states a Jewish Messiah was coming to do away with the Torah and start a new religion, including an entity called the church (Amos 3:7) Don't bother wasting your time looking, it's not there. Mr Prasch should know better. Every blessing.

      To abolish Torah - of course not. To fulfil it -yes. Jesus made it clear that He would build His church in Matthew 16. You therefore speak error. Jeremiah 31:31.

      @@jacobprasch3807 Yeshua made it clear He would build His 'Ekklesia', not His church. Is the word Ekklesia in the Septuagint? Does it mean church? No, because the word church is a manmade word from well after the first and second temple eras. So why do you quote Jeremiah 31:31? The New Covenant is not with the church; it is with Israel. What is the etymology of the word church and when did it enter the English language? There is your answer. Study to show yourself approved. Every blessing.
