Hi Sam your workouts have really helped me cardio wise and I’ve just come back from my bleep test and I got 9.0 I’m really happy with it just letting you know as your fitness tips have been great 🇬🇧😀
Hi mate another great vid! You gave me some tips a while ago concerning push ups, and I'm very proud to say I've gone from being able to barely do one, to being able to do up to 20 in one set if I really push myself, but usually just a few sets of 10. I know it's nothing crazy but its a big step up for me and I'm very grateful for your advice. My running is still disgraceful and I can barely go 300 metres, but hopefully soon I can get that up too.
This is great! I’m ex regular but really want to keep up to the standard I was at when serving. I’m going to try this. I’m especially glad you put in the advice around rest days as I tend to skip them. I went out today and found I just could not run and am just generally feeling run down so I’m now convinced by what your saying about rest 😊💯👍🏽
I am really glad you liked the video. I am terrible for rest days as well, I feel like I am missing out on something when I take a rest day 🙈🙈. I am glad the day after though when I train and feel really energetic
@@MilitaryFitness 😂 ha I hear you. Well I’m in my 40s now and I smashed my 2km when I was in my 20s in under 10mins at ATR Winchester. I love a challenge so let’s see if I can do it again using your method. Will post you an update 💯👌 I now volunteer with ACF so your videos really help with teaching to so thanks 👍🏽💯 Probably your oldest subscriber 😂👌
Morning Sam, I asked the question on the stream last night about the 2km run coming back to the assessment centre. If you could let us know a verdict when you find out that would be great! Take care mate and love the videos
Regarding stretching, I always thought it's best to stretch, foam roll etc, when your muscles are warm after a training session. Wouldn't it be better to stretch consistently during the week?
wow am lucky I subscribed to this channel, you nailed it Sam. I am looking forward to trying this tomorrow on my work out. If I may ask, are you left-handed like me?
Yeah, that would be good. Just be careful not to over train and injure yourself if you don’t train that way regularly. It be best to build up to it💪🏻💪🏻
Hi Sam, I tried this but did 500m in 4min 😞so I walked for 4min then repeated like you suggested… if I focus on shaving down that rest time and pushing harder on my 500m times have I got the right thinking? So frustrated but trying to stay positive! Thanks Alicia
That’s exactly it and you will soon see improvements. Keep at and don’t be disheartened, nothing is easy but it certainly is achievable with a bit of hard work💪🏻💪🏻
Atm the I'm doing the 2km max effort on 1 day... beep test on the other and a longer run... however I struggle to maintain the pace... I can do 1km in about 5:50.... but then I struggle to finish... doing the 500m split as you have suggested... Will this improve my threshold?...
@@MilitaryFitness I try to run.. then rest, run, then rest... I aim to get 3 run days and 2 rest days... aswell as doing weights... I am also abut heavy... I'm 5'8 and 15st..
my 2km run time is around 13 mins 20 secs and i want to be a clerk, i’m really upset with myself and the time is not improving at all. what am i doing wrong? EDIT: i’m aiming to get at least 11 mins as a goal.
Firstly, don’t be hard on yourself. Secondly, stop thinking about 11mins or it will get you down. Your next goal is 13mins 10secs. Try and run it no more than three times a week but I would do twice. When you finish you have to keep training though. Add a minimum of 20 burpees after each one. Check out my body weight workout videos, they will get there in no time
@@MilitaryFitness i ran 2km in 12 mins 52 secs today with some stop breaks though, i’m pleased but still not satisfied with the stop breaks, how do you suggest i deal with burning lungs and legs sir? as well as breathing? EDIT: I used your 2 week plan video for the assessment and it’s really good, i wish i found your content sooner though

Hello. How long does it usually take after you've done your application for you to be sent for the fitness and medical test? I'm currently working on my fitness I can do 2km in less than 11.30 right now although I'd like to get that down a bit further I'd also like to get the ball rolling on my application, but i don't want to do the application yet if it's only going to be a week or so before I'm sent for the fitness test. I don't want to do it too soon and have made a mistake, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi there, I'm about to apply to join the paras in the next two months. On the website the minimum requirement for a 2km run says 8 minutes 15 seconds, currently I can do it in 7 minutes 30. Do you think this would be a competitive time? Or would 7 minutes ( approximate time I'm aiming for in the coming months) too be a good time to get me into basic training?
@@MilitaryFitness Appreciate such a fast reply, and the videos are extremely useful by the way. Final question, how much harder is paras training compared to the standard infantry? From my limited understanding it involves a lot more running/marching and less strength requirements?
