thanks for sharing this clip....Michael Caine considers this as one of the dud movies he made which is a shame, it wasn't a commercial success and made a financial loss at the box office against its production costs.Personally I think it is a forgotten gem of a film , the cinematography is beautiful, it is worth watching just for the visuals....but it is the John Barry soundtrack that makes it so memorable, those elements combined with a thriller jewel thief story and some quite disturbing relationships between the characters I think makes it into something quite special...I have always liked this movie, it has something, a certain atmosphere, don't know how to describe it really, I just enjoy watching it, the movie even inspired me to visit Majorca where it was filmed!!
I had the opportunity to watch this in full on TH-cam and Freeview TV. It is definitely a borefest watch but the cinematography and this famous scene is what made the movie standout. I am more interested in how they filmed the deadfall hang drop sequence when it comes to stunt props
John Barry is the best
I stumbled upon this movie and what a special movie this is, capturing the vibe of that era. Fantastic music which complements the scene perfectly.

What a gem of film direction, soundtrack with classical guitar and rare occasion to see the fabolous Renata Tarrago !
J B was a musical genius !!! collected alot of his soundtracks as a kid .
The guitar arrangements on this concerto were by Vic Flick.
What a great idea by Forbes to get Barry to conduct the orchestra in the film.
Barry can also be see conducting, at the end of THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.
love John's sideburns
Would be amazing to watch this remastered in 4K. Something about shooting in 70mm.
Love to know the woman playing the guitar
The guitarist is the spanish Renata Tarragó, died on 2005.
@@The_music_of_the_movies Thanks. She was a thing of beauty as well as talented.
is there anyone out there who knows where i can obtain the guitar tabs for this piece of guitar music?
