1:15 same brother, i used to be like that. I was a lukewarm Christian who couldn't stop sinning but God convicted me of my sins and when I repemnted genuinely for the first time in my life, God birthed me again with His Holy Spirit, I was 17 when that happend I am now 20. God bless you my brother, I am glad you are seeing the truth of faith in a God that genuinly wants the best for His creation not the god of the world that destroys human with unrighteous short lived pleasures.
Continue to read you Bible brother, do not stop as I am also reading it ALL through myself, finished the New Testament now I am now in the OT Book of Psalms 96. All my addictions are gone like corn, they have no hold over me, yes I get tempted but I beat the temption like flicking away a bugger. Praying for you brother, in your to get closer to God and ask God for the Holy Spirit you will see self imp. in ways you coulda never imagined.
Remember this my dear brother in Christ, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Keep going, eyes on God do not look back!

Something I had to make sure I didn’t do is using God for self improvement.
The “benefits” of following God are nice, but we will give up our lives for Him if we ever aim to truly reach our full potential and what we are capable of, since He created us following Him will fulfill our potential in the end.
He is not a means to an end, He is the end, everything else is a means to Him.
Not doing self improvement so we can have more, but so that we can give more to others, if I exercise I am healthier with more energy and strength, I can serve better, help family better, help the church more effectively, etc. more money lets me tithe and gift more, better mental health lets me help others more, etc etc.
Look at Ephesians 4:28, the thief labors not so he can have and spend more, but to help others and give to those in need.

"do you not know that your bodies are temples of the holy spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies." - 1 Corinthians 6:19

@@MatthewSmiths420 Not sure why you're quoting that verse. It's good, I know it, have it memorized after all. 18-20.

I'm not sure why you consider your invitation for valentine as shameful. Its honest, to the point, and kind. Having been rejected doesn't change that fact. You should feel good about being authentic and expressing your true feelings. So, be proud of yourself for asking for what you wanted.

I appreciate your comment. I don't think it's shameful, just kinda funny to think about. I think the rejection was a great learning experience for me.

just a Christian sharing the gospel to you,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and the punishment of sin is eternal damnation. But Jesus, the Son of God dwelt among us in the flesh, live a perfect life, and died for our sins in the cross so that the fine and penalty of our sins will be paid, so that He may give us eternal life and save us. All we just need to do is to put our faith in Jesus and what He did for us not in our good works or ourselves and to just repent from our sins (turning from every sins) and will actively follow Jesus every day. He wants a relationship with you.
Have a nice day brother! Godbless!

I don’t think it’s your entire intention, but I don’t think we should be Christian only because it’s fitting for self-improvement. Instead we should we Christian because of Christ’s character and that He is the truth and most reliable. This is why more people are turning to Islam. Because there is more discipline in it.

great comment. A pastor yesterday told me there have been a lot of fake Christians, Christians who only go to church to get a 'fuzzy feeling', but as soon as they leave they don't apply god's teachings and become indulged in the world (video games, social media, p0rn, etc...) and as a result they become an enemy of god

i think that the real problem is about the belief ,Christians are not even convinced, they are Christian just because they were born like that , many things in this religion are confusing and unclear, 3 in 1 and 1 in 3 , who wrote the bibles... people turning to islam are those who are searching for the truth and they found that islam is clear and convincing and its the only monotheistic religion, they just found meaning . not Because there is more discipline in it. i think we should actually stop following and making judgement without actually learning and searching for the truth .
