The advantage is you have 3 whole seasons to devour. It was torture finishing S1 then having to wait for them to create the even wilder S2 ....Season 3 an even harder wait. You get to dive down the rabbit hole with no excruciating delays between seasons. I suspect that will make the journey even MORE intense (and rewarding). 😏
The comic book is truly unbelievable & way more shocking & gruesome than the TV show by a long shot. This TV series is mundane in comparison. Still a great show.
I always love no one catches translucent on jimmy fallon, he stopped a home invasion, his power is invisibility, the man was in the house BEFORE the home invasion started.

The moment A-Train ran through Robin, I knew I was in for a treat. I've always wanted to see a world filled with Superheroes that have real consequences for their actions. A-Train is just The Flash without the Speed Force. And he's extremely dangerous because of that.
Well there's a couple like that in DC already, I'd say A-Train is like a flash without morals which is what makes him dangerous, until his full redemption arc he will always be a homelander d-rider

You guys might be too young to have heard of Remington Steele, but it was this quite campy PI show starring a very young Pierce Brosnan in the 80s. :) This would have been something Hughie's dad probably watched when he was growing up, but something Hughie himself couldn't give two shits about. ;) And it just makes it so much worse.
It’s kind of neat where you can see Starlight here, played by Erin Moriarty, and then you just watched her in True Detective where she played Cole’s daughter in the later episode. Yeah, but this show is a trip. It definitely dares to go further that most shows on the air in terms of violence and sexual situations.
She was also a minor character in Jessica Jones' first season. She was VERY good in it. Ashley's actor was also in the same show and season, she was also very good
Invisibility would suck. You could not blink to stop being dazzled. Everything would run into you, step on you, drive over you. And you'd need to be naked all the time. No shoes. And people would hear you because we make micro noises. Flight is the way to go.

Teleportation would be such a CLUTCH superpower. Traveling is often awful for me (I love being at a location. I do not like the process of getting there if it involves a car, bus, train, or plane). It's usually dull Another cool power to have would be the ability to influence the probability of things so it's in your favor. This way, no matter how improbable the task is, the odds will always be in your favor. The limitation being that the event shouldn't be impossible, ya know? Nothing that breaks the laws of physics. Not the craziest power... But will be INCREDIBLY USEFUL in everyday life

I can imagine in practice it would reflect light like a window does and scatter it, meaning it could hit your retina, but I could also be wrong about that, we would need to run some tests

love that you're doing all bangers when it comes to tv shows so far. nbody's really bad on this show, and many of the actors are indeed great, but anthony starr's performance as homelander is up there for me as one of the best ever seen on tv. just his facial acting alone can swing from absolutely hilarious to genuinely terrifying, often in the same scene.

It's probably too op to wish for but as a power to I would like Biomancy / Biomanipulation: the power to control and create life forms. Imagine the possibilities: curing cancer, shape shifting, mind control, summoning dinosaur armies, healing, cloning myself, deaging. The first thing I would do when I get that power would be to give myself 20/20 vision to throw away my glasses, then remove all my allergies.
Hear me out though Chronokinesis, aka complete control over the flow and state of time for all things. Cancer? Let me just rewind it on a loop so that every time it becomes a threat it miraculously shrinks back down. Or lock it in time stasis and don't even worry about the looping part, achieve immortality for not just yourself but whoever else wants to join you, stop and speed up/rewind the flow of time for all but yourself, etc etc etc
Obviously its for the plot but its a little weird that the dad and even Hughie act like cops don't get sued. People sue the police department and the city that employees them all the time. I'd imagine it would be the same for supes as well.
I've given this way too much thought I guess, but a lot of superpowers are quite useless and risky and forces you to take so many extra precautions, that if you aren't also invulnerable, they're probably not worth it. I mean, invisibility, great. Cars will no longer stop for you, birds will always fly straight into your head, etc (*). Flying, pretty sweet, but say you're cruising over a city and suddenly you sneeze - congrats, you've now flown into a building and died. Super strength, that won't help you either since whenever you lift something your muscles can handle but your bones can't, you're now a jellyfish. The list goes on. (*) I guess with invisibility you wouldn't need actual invulnerability per say, it would be enough if you basically didn't "exist" in the physical realm anymore so that every other object just passes through you.. but then again, that would kinda the same as being invulnerable, you just wouldn't get knocked over when a car crosses your path. Oh well, moving on.

You're just smelling the aromas from the kitchen, the appetizers haven't even arrived yet. 😁 Buckle up. The ride is wilder than you can imagine. But if you can get through it, it will be SO worthwhile! There is a lot of stuff you won't be able to un-see..... but there's also an enormous amount of (dark, DARK) humor & humanity (for better and worse). ALL your questions will be answered..... but it will take 3 seasons. Really hoping the writer's strike gets settled so they can make the already greenlit season 4. I hope you decide to stick with it. Although there will be moments when you may think "....it's too much.... I can't....". Stick with it. It will be SO worth the ride! 😎

If you're gonna go the immortality route just get chronokinesis so if things go to shit you can fix it up pretty quick (chronokinesis is total control over the state and flow of time)
Just keep in mind, the comics are way more extreme than this series. If you can believe it, the events are watered-down for tv. Great reactions. Keep going, 👏
i can't say hughie's dad sucks because if i see my own son trying to go after some really powerful people, i would do the same especially in there world where literal super powers exist. they could do to hughie what happened to robin and they won't even leave a trace. not to mention, there's a billion dollar company backing them up. it's like if anyone wants to go after elon musk. it's impossible.

The Boys is world-class. If you're suffering 'superhero fatigue' it's the perfect remedy. So brutal, but also cynical and insightful.
