The problem with this was that the reason why these people neglected themselves was because they have the "I need to use my time to study instead of doing the the things I actiually like that are fun because I need to get higher grades." mindsets. So instead of relaxing from time to time and enjoying life, they chose to hustle and constantly focus on passing the exam, cause ain't nobody got time for that. I don't know if that's productive or actually unhealthy?

I remember watching, 'One Small Step,' a couple of years ago. It is hands down one of the most inspiring things for me. To anyone out there, who knows the Pain of losing a Father, a family member. Please, don't let pain consume you all the time. I lost my Dad 2 years ago and it nearly destroyed me. He was like the Sun of my entire world with an infectious, larger than Life presence. Letting go has never been easy. The hardest part of ending is Starting Again. Remember to breathe. You're only human. Remember that there will always be a piece of them in You, always! Be grateful for the moments you had with them. And, Wherever they may be in the Universe, known or Unknown, send them Love. :') It's okay...You're okay. You should consider yourself lucky cause i barely have any memories on my father. My parents got divorced when i was a small child and i barely knew my dad from that day. I had a lot of school work and i had no time to go to his house always. He also had a lot of work lets just say he was pretty financialy stable so he worked 24/7 because he got obssesed with money… So from that day i rarely even talked to him and we are every day forgeting about each other. He started to acuse me that i never loved him one day because i had no time to see him and thats how we split.
When the dad died i started crying, she never got to say goodbye or tell him she loved her before he was gone, that's the scariest thing about life you'll never know when you lose your family. Spend time with your family while you can

One of the greatest short films I have ever seen in my life. It teaches you that even if you have everything taken away from you, it dosen't mean that the world wants you to fail, it means that the world wants you to know that your loved ones will always watch over you and that you should never give up on something you have always dreamed for.

I think one of the lessons in this movie is that you don’t realize how important your loved ones are until you lose them. Just like with anything you don’t learn to appreciate until you lose it.
The animation was so fluid and filled with so many details, the shots were amazing and the colors used really triggered emotions. This is one of my fav animations this year. Well done!
I first saw this when I was younger, and I rewatched it just now.. I start to resonate with the characters more deeply than before...You never realize how much you love someone before you lose it. Such a powerful animation!
Most every Child will eventually have that day, when they lose someone they love. Hopefully it inspires them and drives them. I almost lost my father to a heart condition, so I had to stay home. But I've been bettering myself with this time. I'm glad I got a second chance.

Well, to be fair - expressing yourself in a different language is easier sometimes. The words don’t hold the same emotional value as the ones in your mother tongue do. Especially talking about emotional things like this movie in other languages IS easier. That said, sometimes you can say things with a picture that a thousand words couldn’t convey. This animation is a perfect example of that situation. Even the most genius of writers would probably have had trouble putting a story like this into words. Some stories are made to be written, others, to be shown.
Luna means moon ♡, I loved how energetic she is from her childhood.. That dark spot on her face makes the protagonist unique, The way she cut her hair to begin her new life speaks a lot, so beautiful it always makes me cry, Hustle for dreams, and father and daughter's love
This was very moving. Sometimes the path to our dreams isn't easy and we lose hope. We get so lost in self pity that we take for granted the people who were always there to encourage us. Then when we finally realize what's happening, they're gone. This definitely hit home. Thank you.
This was so good and touching. The animation was really fluid and I liked how it didn’t just focus on the idealistic part of dreaming as a child but also the harsh realities that come with it. This had a positive and optimistic ending but reality can be different for different ppl bc even if you overcome your hardships and come close to it, you may not exactly achieve your dreams that you had when you were a child.
Yeah and that ‘not being able to make our childhood dreams come true' shouldn't stop us from dreaming always! Because Dreams do come true one day in our lives, even if it snatches away countless peaceful nights' sleep previously...

Three years ago I had a friend that had a tumor growing in him and he passed away recently and before he did he told me that when he gets better he wants to become a doctor so he can help people with the same problem. All I can tell you now is that I’m almost through college and I can’t wait to hopefully one day do what he dreamed of doing

She didn't take her father for granted. She was just so busy and depressed with her grades and abilities that she didn't notice how distant she got from her father.

The dad kinda reminded me of the person/father of Pinocio (I'm not sure if that's how you spell it) the dude with the long nose- he was a shoe maker before that, very poor as well. Kinda like this.

This hit me personally because I don’t have a dad. I mean, he is alive, just not in my life, so it’s always sad to see people with such supportive and loving fathers, knowing that I will never have one. This is such an amazing video.
Hey I have both of my parents but the separated when I was around 10 and I soon learned my mother had been cheating on my father for about 3 years so I have to live with the burden knowing this also knowing my mother slandered my fathers name and now my dad is a lonely 53 year old man who nothing but me my sister and our cat. So I also know how it feels to not see my dad in my life most of the time, but hold on silver lyn things might turn up, for they aren't going to with me.
_SilverLyn _ also when I entered as a new student at a new school I the 7th grade, (currently ending 8th grade) I was crushed by a moving car on the first day of school and was put into a wheelchair for about 3 months, so I was bullied and rejected massively. I was also betrayed by my only friend at the time.

When I was about 11 my mum with a terrible abusive man and just accepted that the awesome loving families they showed on tv were just make believe, someone’s ideal fantasy. It wasn’t until I was 16, after I’d finished with my edgy nihilistic shtick, that I met a friend who had an actual happy family and I teared up. I feel like we missed out.
Its to late for some of us😟 But i agree, please please please, love your parents, because one day they arent going to be here anymore and you wont be able to ask them things ect. The first thing you forget is their voices, then slowly their faces, and you try so hard not to forget, but you can't help it.
I got upset when the Dad realized she didn't get in, and I cried when I realized how depressing it was. And I cried at the end because imagine the memories flooding back in and the ecstasy of that moment when you think, "I did it Dad."
Even though Luna didn’t always show how much her father meant to her later on, you could tell she really appreciated him. Sometimes we can get so lost focusing on one dream that we forget the important things in life, but that doesn’t mean we love someone any less. Always show how much you care to your loved ones because time is precious. What a beautiful theme.
It's also way more common in video games than movies and the like. With movies, it might look cheap to have it look kinda 3d instead of having people draw frames (plus less need to understand things in terms of 3 dimensions and better opportunity for effects like gonk). With video games, it is absolutely impossible to draw everything that could possibly happen in a 3d plane, so cel shading may be used to make it look 2d. Exceptions would include 2d games using sprites or cutscenes.

I have never felt connected to an animation as much as I have with this. My grandpa died a year ago and I graduated college earlier this year before he could see it. With the anniversary coming up, this just got me emotional today. I'm glad I found this video.
This is what people go through everyday I bet... life is filled with rejections but there's only one way to accomplish what you desire. This is so reliable for me even though I still haven't taken that "One Small Step" in my life yet.

I love this film because it’s so ironic how in the beginning,she treated her father oddly.And that’s okay.Everyone makes mistakes.I also noticed that she got bad grades,didn’t help people,and was only worried about herself and not the well being of others.Like I said,THATS OKAY.Then,at the ending,she starts helping others,making friends,and not just going solo and burning herself out.Wonderful!😄

this video reminds me about my mom. I've always forgot that she is my best supporter. when I enter uni, i chose a major that totally different from what i focused in high school, plus, that uni's tuition fee is so expensive. however, she told me that she will take care of all the fees, i just need to focus on studying. I did feel a bit overwhelm after 1 years studying, haha, but this video give me motivation, also remind me how i should i feel about my mom, which is grateful. 💕💕
I remember when this came out, I got to meet the creators. They hand painted a lot the art before it was made into this animation! Had to work on it for over a year before it got out though. Amazing short film.💕
If you have a family member, relative, friend, or just someone who you love and care for the same way they do you, never sit there blindly and act as though their love for you is insignificant. Because, truly, they are always watching you with tenderness from a warm heart. They're always smiling when you're smiling, laughing when you're laughing, struggling when you're struggling, and even crying when you're crying. Whether or not you know of their sympathy, they still find it hard to not forgive and love you. You should all tell the people you love that you notice their love and that, you feel the same way by saying you love them back. Who knows? Saying a few kind words could be the last things you say to them, so always make time for them. Peace.
My grandma died a few months ago..I wish I spent more time with her before she died...my grandpa is living with us and I want to make sure I don't waste the time I still have with him.
I think this talks a log about overworking and peace of mind. Notice how she focused so much into her studies that she completely ignored everything else around her, including his father and the people that became her friends later on? That’s a clear sign of really bad overworking.
True, you can still balance out your work and social life. I'm like that at the moment too with my college but I try my best to be there for others. You just want to make them proud and happy even when you're at your worst moments.

This wonderful piece of thundering silence was so tastefully done, that it reminded me of the wordless opening of the movie "UP" where you ran the entire spectrum of emotions in the first 10 minutes. Both pieces masterfully pulled at every string your heart holds, and left a tear in your eye by the simplicity of its elegance. my sister and grandpa died but I recovered I learned not to stay in a shadow and let all my pain gone there in a better place now

I first saw this when I was younger, and I rewatched it just now.. I start to resonate with the characters more deeply than before...You never realize how much you love someone before you lose it. Such a powerful animation!
Most every Child will eventually have that day, when they lose someone they love. Hopefully it inspires them and drives them.

Well, to be fair - expressing yourself in a different language is easier sometimes. The words don’t hold the same emotional value as the ones in your mother tongue do. Especially talking about emotional things like this movie in other languages IS easier.
That said, sometimes you can say things with a picture that a thousand words couldn’t convey. This animation is a perfect example of that situation. Even the most genius of writers would probably have had trouble putting a story like this into words. Some stories are made to be written, others, to be shown.
One more thing that I've learned... never get too busy chasing your dreams. Spend also your time with your family while they're with you.

This was so good and touching. The animation was really fluid and I liked how it didn’t just focus on the idealistic part of dreaming as a child but also the harsh realities that come with it. This had a positive and optimistic ending but reality can be different for different ppl bc even if you overcome your hardships and come close to it, you may not exactly achieve your dreams that you had when you were a child.
Yeah and that ‘not being able to make our childhood dreams come true' shouldn't stop us from dreaming always! Because Dreams do come true one day in our lives, even if it snatches away countless peaceful nights' sleep previously...

Three years ago I had a friend that had a tumor growing in him and he passed away recently and before he did he told me that when he gets better he wants to become a doctor so he can help people with the same problem. All I can tell you now is that I’m almost through college and I can’t wait to hopefully one day do what he dreamed of doing

This hit me personally because I don’t have a dad. I mean, he is alive, just not in my life, so it’s always sad to see people with such supportive and loving fathers, knowing that I will never have one. This is such an amazing video.

Hey I have both of my parents but the separated when I was around 10 and I soon learned my mother had been cheating on my father for about 3 years so I have to live with the burden knowing this also knowing my mother slandered my fathers name and now my dad is a lonely 53 year old man who nothing but me my sister and our cat. So I also know how it feels to not see my dad in my life most of the time, but hold on silver lyn things might turn up, for they aren't going to with me.

When I was about 11 my mum with a terrible abusive man and just accepted that the awesome loving families they showed on tv were just make believe, someone’s ideal fantasy. It wasn’t until I was 16, after I’d finished with my edgy nihilistic shtick, that I met a friend who had an actual happy family and I teared up. I feel like we missed out.

Even though Luna didn’t always show how much her father meant to her later on, you could tell she really appreciated him. Sometimes we can get so lost focusing on one dream that we forget the important things in life, but that doesn’t mean we love someone any less. The whole “3d but looks kinda 2d” is known as “cel shading.” This is some of the best cel shading I have ever seen.

eastern asians more often use this animation styles, not westerners
It's also way more common in video games than movies and the like. With movies, it might look cheap to have it look kinda 3d instead of having people draw frames (plus less need to understand things in terms of 3 dimensions and better opportunity for effects like gonk). With video games, it is absolutely impossible to draw everything that could possibly happen in a 3d plane, so cel shading may be used to make it look 2d. Exceptions would include 2d games using sprites or cutscenes.

I love this film because it’s so ironic how in the beginning,she treated her father oddly.And that’s okay.Everyone makes mistakes.I also noticed that she got bad grades,didn’t help people,and was only worried about herself and not the well being of others.Like I said,THATS OKAY.Then,at the ending,she starts helping others,making friends,and not just going solo and burning herself out.Wonderful!😄

I've always forgot that she is my best supporter. when I enter uni, i chose a major that totally different from what i focused in high school, plus, that uni's tuition fee is so expensive. however, she told me that she will take care of all the fees, i just need to focus on studying. I did feel a bit overwhelm after 1 years studying, haha, but this video give me motivation, also remind me how i should i feel about my mom, which is grateful. 💕💕
I remember when this came out, I got to meet the creators. They hand painted a lot the art before it was made into this animation! Had to work on it for over a year before it got out though. Amazing short film.💕

I think this talks a log about overworking and peace of mind. Notice how she focused so much into her studies that she completely ignored everything else around her, including his father and the people that became her friends later on? That’s a clear sign of really bad overworking.
