You did a very good job. True Addressable leds are not cheap. I wanted to make one but wow. so I'll be ending to Max7219 dot matrix display instead.

Very well done, great project. Result looks greart. :) You left out the Nano on your instructable BOM and sharing the code might be helpful to others. Looks like 240 LED's so you killed 60 LED's or 4 controller chips per 15 LED's in the process of making it. I've done that myself a few times. It's part of the learning process. Congratulations on a beautiful matrix.

varför mellanrummet mellan stripsen? har inte riktigt hajjat. har sett andra som gjort likadant.
Det är för att man vill ha samma avstånd mellan alla leds för att få en enhetlig bild och eftersom ledsen är ca 1cm ifrån varandra på stripsen så placerar man stripsen ca 1cm ifrån varandra för att få samma avstånd

My didn't you just flip the strips 90 degrees so you just had to solder 8 strips?
because it is much easier to write code for side scrolling text on vertical lines than horizontal, but sure you could do it that way too if your rather spend more time on coding instead
Yeah honestly, using horizontal strips would make a lot more sense. It's not any harder to scroll horizontally on horizontal strips... I've done this on a lot of commercial installations using neopixels. End result looks cool though :)
Agreed. I looked at the code he based it on and it's stacking the array into horizontal arrays first anyway. Good code. Wiring vertical strips does seem like a lot more work. Very well thought out, designed, and completed for less money that most other projects of the same scale. Using a cheap Nano for example likely saved him $10-15 alone vs a genuine Uno or other similar product. Using multiple cheap buck converters instead of 1 big expensive one also likely saved him $10-$15. He completed this project in half to a third the cost of most others. If it works, it works. Very well done.

why not just buy 10x10 or 8x8 panels
was this able to show notifications from a phone?
if you mean that the sign would display phone notifications like incoming messages and stuff then no. such feature is not implemented in this sign but it would be possible to do it if one finds it useful enough to take the time to program it.
