Mike the next time you're in Home Depot go down to hardware where the marking tools/pencils are. The make a thing that holds your pencil. it slips on you pencil or whatever using and there is a ripcord that hooks to your belt. You'll never lose one or get caught on camera chewing it in deep concentration! lol I got my dad one after 40 years of watching him look in his hat, overalls ears etc. He loves it and it saves him about an hour out of a day. ;o)

Greetings from No VT - I vote for Hunter to join the walking crew! Beautiful pine you are milling, not a lot of big knots. It should work out super for all your shed projects. Suggestion - put the boards up with the bases set with the offset you want then when they are all up, snap a chalk line along the top line then cut them laterally all together with the Dewalt hand saw. Saves a lot of time and the end result is excellent.

Mike, here's an old-timey tip: When you're building with green wood, angle your fasteners from the center of your board to the outside, about 30 degrees (five minutes on your watch dial), like this:
    edge| \ / |edge
    nails
Then, as the wood dries and shrinks, it will pull against the screws/nails and make the fastening tighter. I live in a house built with white oak weatherboards and batten-strips that was built that way, it was about 100 years old...
Remember this when you build the pool-house...

You should use the boards that still have bark on them next to the saw mill for building a shelter in the woods or a wood storage in the woods. That would be cool and have almost a log cabin type of look. Good Stuff!

I was wondering if you might expect an issue with stink bugs? They are a problem here in NW Indiana. They congregate in huge numbers between boards that are tight together, But I haven't had a problem with boards that are stickered by 1\2 inch or more. 1\4 inch stickers are the worst case scenario I've found. Love your videos, Happy milling and using it! Health to you!

If you sticker the pine for 3 weeks it will take care of 90% of the shrinkage. If you have crowned boards, put them back on the Mill 4 or 5 boards at a time crowns up and make a skim cut. Flip the boards over and take another skim cut. Straighter than anything you can buy!!!

Tried to order wood for delivery from HD for a little greenhouse project I have going on while on furlough. They wanted 79.00 to deliver it 1/2 mile to my house, ( I have to stay out of any store) watch out for that “free” delivery they advertised. Found a small lumber the next town over explained the situation, ordered the wood needed they delivered it for free. And it was about the same price.
Something to remember in these times is to try and patronize the small family lumber and hardware store that are fighting for there way of life.

Great video as always. I’d like to get Hunter something. Would one of you send me a message on messenger please. Have a few questions. Thanks.

Love the Aussie! Fantastic, Morgans! Keep up the great positive messaging and content. :)
One technique you can try is to install all your vertical siding -- just letting the boards run long -- then come back and trim off the ends with a circular saw, letting the flat face of the blade run down your top 2x10 band. Save you hours of individual measuring, end-trimming at the chop-saw, etc.

If you aren't putting any gutters on back then spreading some stone across back will help keep mud from splashing up on siding
