I have 8 loads of laundry to do and I’m watching this
8 😮
It’s start in the right direction.
Lol
Same! 😂😂
I came back to report that I put the work in and got all my laundry done!
I don’t even own a fridge with a water/ice dispenser. Idk why I was so interested in this vid. Lol
So you can be happy about what you're not missing out on....lol
@@susiecarreon6768 Haha, fair point
Waste of space, I have a side by side with ice/water and hate it!
I don’t have an ice maker but here I am😂😂😂🤷🏽♀️ Good Fun Fact lol
Good Work ... Just one note, would recommend you throw out the first 2 or 3 batches of ice as they may have vinegar or sediment from the new filter
I’ve been saying this!!!! I am not a super big fan of cleaning but I’m the one who cleans anything in the fridge I’m gonna do this thank you !
Note that most refrigerators have a quart size water tank somewhere inside the refrigerator so you get cold water from the dispenser every time. You may want to make sure that gets cleaned out as well. Some of that vinegar may linger in the tank.
WOW...this was exactly what I needed. Recently realized the spout was very dirty...6yr old fridge...really need to clean the whole ice maker. Thank you sooooo much for this video. I'm on it....
I don't even have a fridge with these gadgets but I just had to watch.. hahaha
I'm so relieved to see that my method is pretty much exactly what you did, minus the vinegar feed through the line! That's friggin genius!
You don't have to do it often but it makes a huge difference!😀
Oh, wow. I had no idea all that needed cleaning and attention. Didn’t even know about the filter! So much to learn! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Nice vid!
One thing I do that I'm not sure if it is important or useful, I'd use the quick ice function after a clean or filter change and then diacard the first batch of ice from like 4 hours or overnight.
Really good tip!
I just bought a new filter, but didn't know that I had to clean the water line. Makes sense. Thanks!
AWESOME SAUCE BROTHER!!! Thank you for a great, well detailed video. My wife and I are grateful 🙏
I appreciate this video. Going to tackle my fridge this week 😂
Thank you Brandon! 🌟
Thank you for tackling that 🥳
Just bought a new to us house, and this will help us to clean up the questionable looking fridge dispenser for sure!! TYVM 😀👍🏻👍🏻
So good to know. I don’t have a fridge like that but when I do have one with an ice maker and water spigot, now I will know how to clean the. Thank you!❤️
Holy cow. Just happened to stumble upon video and was truly amazed. Thank you for sharing. 😁
Excellent video!!!!
I have the exact same fridge and I have been curious as to how to clean it. Thank you!!!
Great video! I moved to an area with hard water so I'm going around descaling the plumbing. The only thing I couldn't do is pull out the fridge but I still could repair the controls & icemaker (myself). Now for a good clean!
Thank you
Satisfying 😊
This is why you buy a $3000 fridge - you never need to worry about cleaning them, they die too quickly for that.
3K for a fridge no wonder people have so much debt
Ge cafe line agrees with this comment
😂
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So cool
Good video. Do you remove the old filter before running vinegar through the system? Seems like the filter might reduce the effects of the vinegar wash.
Every fridge is different. On mine, you can't run water thru the fridge without a filter, water will go everywhere!
THANK YOU for taking the time to make this vid. It's so helpful. I constantly wash down the outside of everything with soap & hot, using Q-tips on the small parts I can get to, but it doesn't work well. I knew there had to be an easier way! Vinegar!.....Im on it!
You are so welcome!
Hey, Youngman, thank you for sharing. How often should this be done pls?
Wow! Who knew! Thank you so much for the step by step instructions! 👍🏻
You are so welcome!
Another excellent video-thank you!
I’m sure this is answered elsewhere so forgive me, but is the vinegar you use the 5% solution or the ‘cleaning’ vinegar (which is in the 30% ballpark)?
Thanks for your time
Great video! How do I know if I'm a clean squad/pateron member? I haven't seen my name come up at the end of your videos but when I go to the member page it says I'm a member. Love your videos! Thank you for everything you do! ❤❤❤
Thank you for this video. I am going to try to do this process. One question: How do you clean the ice cube tray?
Hey Brandon - may have been asked on your socials, but what kind of footstopper cork (or whatever) do you use on all your appliances to have them slide around on your floor like magic? Lots of your appliances when you're doing cleaning videos just seem to glide - and I want in on it! Cheers.
❤thx
I just noticed your crunch labs magnet 😄
Btw, what works best to remove rust from the screws on a toilet seat lid? Without removing the screws.
Awesome videos sorry I’m so late
Woohoo, thanks.
Thank you my daughter stop making ice cream and water
I need that sweatshirt Brandon. Take my money! 😂
🤔
We are going through our first boil water notice. Do you think this cleaning method will do the job once the notice is lifted? Thank you!
I did it and wow the amount of unseen crud!! The ice chute was black with mold!! I've always thought I did great on upkeep but WOW!! Thank you!!
Is it straight vinegar for the line or mixed with water?
Hi! Thank you for making this video. I have a question about a different topic. We have the same refrigerator as you do in the video. Ours works fine when we use the drinking water line, but when the ice maker starts drawing water and making ice, ice pools at the bottom of the freezer. Do you happen to know why that is? Thank you so much again.
Sometimes the ice gets stuck in the shute. On the freezer door. I normally look through there and take out as much ice as I can. Then put some hot water in a cup to pour into the shute. Make sure to have a pitcher or big cup on the door of the freezer to collect whatever you are pouring through the shute.
Did not know I should do this, do you want to come to my house to clean😉
Tell us how to clean terrazzo floors (or mosaic flooring)
Does this damage the water filter? They are usually paper inside
What brand are those green gloves?
But you said your orange towel was for your bathroom...🙄😉😅 Great video.
You should definitely be the joker for Halloween if you haven’t already.
Ok, I just bought some microfiber. Could you have the company consider 6 packs in other sizes? I don’t want 12 clothes in every color of the rainbow (unless you have a storage video somewhere!
What about cleaning the water chute in the ice maker?
We just moved into a new rental home. It appears the water spot and ice maker were never used or never cleaned. The ice shoot is completely molded. The ice maker itself is rusted. This cleaning project is beyond me! Any tips? I’m so scared to tackle the mold in the ice shoot. I’ve chosen to avoid it altogether and we don’t use the water/ice from the fridge whatsoever
6:34 You should use teflon on the tap.
Does cleaning vinegar work the same as white or distilled vinegar?
Yes
@@CleanThatUp Thank you much for the quick reply 😊
You missed flushing the ice maker water line and cleaning the ice cube making tray.
You look like a younger Macaulay Culkin
What happens with the water filter ?
When was the last time you cleaned your home water line?
Hi
Please make a video on how to twist out the fridge water filter and replace .😢😢😢😢❤
Shut off water supply and drain the water in the lines until it's gone. Then unscrew filter and replace. Might have to push and turn. It probably won't unscrew with water pressure and water lines open
What About when they mold and get molding grimy do a video on that
❤
Better check whether you have a filter inside the fridge. May need to remove the filter and install the bypass device supplied with the refrigerator before you start.
Did you watch the whole video?
@@geoffh1 Yes. I didn’t see them dealing with it.
Your excessive use of the word “quick/quickly” reminded me of Joe Pesci’s famous performance in Goodfellas
I believe the word is “spigot”.
Good tips. Thank you
picolas cage!
What Is the yellow thing in the ice shoot please?
That was the light from when you get ice at night time.
There are filters and membranes. How safe is vinegar and won't cause any damage?
There’s food grade vinegar and cleaning vinegar.
Food grade is perfectly safe but if you use cleaning grade, rinse thoroughly, use gloves 🧤 and a mask 😷.
@@1JewelOfTheNile
Perfect, thanks.
@@1JewelOfTheNileeven food grade vinegar will destroy 95% of filters. Until you change the filter after sending vinegar thru it, you will be getting 100% unfiltered line water with a tad bit of vinegar.
You won't like the taste of that.
Change the filter after running at least several gallons of clean water thru the line.
@@dynastyfamily00
No it won’t, food grade vinegar has an average 3% acidity and is used to clean meats, collards, kale etc.
So it will stand up to filters.
@@1JewelOfTheNile Seen many refrigerators, seen more filters than refrigerators. Never heard any manufactured filter that recommended use after sending anything but tap water thru it.... But if that's your speed, I won't disagree with what you like.
I just wouldn't recommend it to someone else.
We need a adapter. Builder grade water outlets are sketchy
Remove your water filters either inline or inside fridge filter before you do any of this vinegar descaling
Should you not remove the filter first? And then add a new one after you have flushed the vinegar out. No point cleaning out the old one with vinegar.
Ok calling bs on the ‘vinegar flush’ 🎉
My ice dispenser is full of mold. I can’t figure out how to take it apart to clean it so I just turned it off and never use it.
Ok, but why does my water and ice don't work when I have the filter in.
But work when it's not in?
It just randomly stopped working one day and even changed filter too and even tried another one.
Your filter housing is broken. The plunger in the housing acts like a valve. It's not letting the water go into the filter and bypassing it. Happened to me 2 yrs ago.
I wish i could have a fridge like this instead of living with 50 jugs of water in a tiny apartment.
Sometimes the water filters can be expensive. Our one that we had when we moved in was $80 to replace, our new frig, isn't as expensive.
You can buy a whole side mini faucet with a good water filter to mount on your kitchen sink where the sprayer goes. The filter mounts under the sink for about $50 and up these days. We just bought one. The filter lasts way longer than the refrigerator one does.
When i do this i wash, rinse with clear water and then dry so that I don't have to ingest soap
Might want to remove the filter first, or at least put it in bypass.
Why vinegar and not diluted bleach? Is vinegar an anti-microbial?
Vinegar kills mold and mildew and descales hard water crust. Food safe, deodorizes (the smell will go away) It makes things shine like windows (diluted with water)... That's how we descale our coffee pot and dishwasher... I can't answer about Clorox, I think I would personally choose vinegar in this case too. We've never thought to flush the water line before. I suppose we could just get new water line hose too?
Commentor further down asked if the water filter should be removed first. No answer as of now yet. Good point. Good question. Perhaps it's ok to?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Now i am so glad i didnt buy a fridge like this! Lol
Flush that system a couple times with vinegar and you will be replacing the valve assemble and seals. They are not designed to handle that acid.
Do you flush your water lines in your house?
There is no reason to flush that line, it's a sealed system.
Fine with all the rest of the cleaning.
I'm not rich enough to even have one of these, but here i am.
I like it all and should make it easier. I'm still concerned about using dish soap (no matter how little) to clean the inside of the fridge and or freezer. Seems to me that it will leave a task and/or smell.
This won't work on my fridge. I even tried putting the line in to the bottle of vinegar and then blowing air in to the bottle to create pressure, couldn't get a single drop to go in to the line =/.
Did someone push the water dispenser while you held the vinegar with far end of hose high?
@@johnkelly9451 Yes it was pushed the whole time.
Have the same problem with ours! Anyone have a solution for that yet?
All of your cleaning methods look good, but I don’t see how the flushing of the system is going to do much good unless you flush it with water under pressure. You’d have to rig up a tank or something to do that, but it would also let you flush it with plenty of clean water, afterward. Maybe there’s a device out there for this.
That ice maker really waste a lot of space😢 that was one of my considerations when purchasing a new fridge. Seems to take up two large internal shelf space and the door shelves for the chute. the one I have just takes up two door shelves.
We take our ice dispenser box out. I just use icecube trays. I like the extra space for food. I just must be careful not to turn the bar on.
I have the same make and model of your fridge in the video. But there is something you missed to removed - water filter. The vinegar will react with the water filter in the first part of your video.
He does address this towards the end. Sounds like his vinegar deep clean coincides with changing the filter, so it wouldn’t matter then if you’re changing it out anyway.
Take the filter out first!
Wouldn’t this ruin the filter?
This is something I do when the filter is getting old, I replace the filter after descaling 😁
Take the filter out. It goes ALOT FASTER.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to take the expensive water filter out first rather than exposing it to vinegar and scale 😏😏💡
How about bleach?
It doesn’t clean itself!!!?
one clean american hahahahah
now tell me how to replace a POS plastic shelf in my fridge that broke. fucking whirl pool.
This is the worst fridge for a family. Amana 👎🏽 hated it
Thats why you should never buy those.
You can clean anything, but your thumbnails need work!
😅
When i do this i wash, rinse with clear water and then dry so that I don't have to ingest soap
