My dad had casters on alot of things he made. He had a 24' x 20' patio that he inclosed as his workshop. He was my hero. He passed in 2014, he was 80. Your wife is very Blessed to have you. Some day I hope to meet a man like you, and for him to be my husband. Keep up the great job you and your wife are doing.
Great video - it has been great to see your shop and house evolve over the years. You're blessed to have Amy and her support (and kitchen!) - you guys are a fantastic pair! 🤗
It's so great to see that you just love what you do! This channel is one of the reasons that I continue to do wood working and get a little better each year. My son's only two and he wants me to show him all the different tool and just explore the garage.
They have split systems for different environments, we have one that's rated to -40Celcius it goes to -30 sometimes here only two or three days in the winter. Weather sealing and insulation really matter with these for effectiveness and longevity, and installing the outdoor until where it'll permanently stay level, here the ground freezes and thaws and when people install them on cement pads the pad sinks and the outdoor unit is 20° out of level, it's common practice here, and we can get 3' deep snow so I've installed my outdoor unit on a wall bracket 4' off the ground.
Long time subscriber, love your channel! It has been a real treat to watch your channel grow and your business develop. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thanks Mat and miss 731 it's lovely to see you and your wife work together you two obviously love each other well done and carry on. Thank you Geoff from the uk
Very cool setup and, it’s amazing how much you have in a relatively small space. I have a 2-car tandem garage, so basically one stall is twice as long as a regular garage, but I also have to park two cars in the garage every night, not to mention the 50 totes of Christmas decorations and all the crap you accumulate over the 20 years we’ve lived here. Most of my tools are on flip carts as everything has to be pushed against the walls of the garage, so everything is on wheels. It sucks having to roll everything against the walls and clean up at the end of the day so I can pull the cars in, but it is what it is. The main issue I have is the lack of storage! I picked up a couple ideas from your video, so perhaps I’ll incorporate those. I agree with you that an assembly table is a must. Mine is only 3x7 given my space, but it gets more use than anything I have. The horse stall mats are a great idea, but I put down a nice epoxy floor and not ready to cover it up, so just have a mat in front of my assembly table. Thanks for the shop tour!
Working on setting my small (12x15) shop set up.. Great ideas and much appreciated… My tools are all on wheels too… Husky workbench with extended table has been a wonderful addition… I built a scrap wood cart out of scraps this winter, on wheels and will take 4’ material and is a great help… Appreciate your videos
Nice tour Matt. I'm also one of the lucky guys that has their wife helping out. She does ALL the laser work as well as helps me in the shop when I need an extra hand. At the end of your video, I TOTALLY agree with you, it doesn't matter in the end on what you have for tools........it's your faith that makes ALL the difference.
God Bless! I have been watching since pretty close to the beginning. As a matter of fact it was one of your videos(the wooden American flag) that started me on my journey in woodworking, and I know that God put this channel in my life at the right time. You and your wife are an inspiration to many, and I wish you all the best moving forward!
I am impressed with your shop and presentation, but more with your testimony. As a retired Army Chaplain I’ve come to deeply appreciate those souls who are consistent (faithful) and congruent (integrated) with their testimony (faithful). That said, many blessings and thanks for a very enjoyable channel. Ihs!
Its cool to see how over time hes built up his shop bigger and bigger im a new woodworker and am in a really small shed wich is similar to how 731 started of so its good to see the sucess thats come out of it keep up the good work love the vids
I just got more into wood working and so glad I found your channel. Our main business is landscaping/snow plowing and our shop is now split in half leaving me about a 15x30 area to do the wood stuff but even with the basic tools it's getting cramped. We rent our shop so attaching things to the walls would be nice, it's not allowed. One thing my Landlord is going to have to do is fix the friggen lights! Our ceiling is 20ft tall and theres 6 banks of 8ft dual fluorescent tube lights but only half work lol so it makes very tough to see cut lines etc. One question, does the humidity affect the wood with warping? Our shop is not cooled and only heated with a torpedo heater or porch heater.
Thanks for the tour. Love the shirt. One of my favorite verses. Made my wife a laser engraved sign with it on. She had a bad bout with GBS a year ago and is still recovering. Keep your messages on your business and our Lord coming.
I’m a beginner woodworker. I’ve started making chicken coops bc we started last spring having chickens. Anyway, I want to start making other projects. I have so much “ I can’t do that!” In my head. I’ve taken classes at woodcraft in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I’m from. I LOVE your channel. I watch a lot of your content. When I saw the video on you getting your Sawstop I teared up for you. I probably teared the whole video. Ha! Anyway! Thank you for inspiring me. You da bomb! Oh also I love that you love Jesus bc I do too!
Matt, you and Amy are so inspiring and, even though we don't know each other, such a blessing to me. I struggle mightily with physical issues but dream of playing with wood for a living some day. I know all of that is in God's almighty hands, though. In the mean time, I get to live vicariously through you, my brother. God bless you abundantly, and I'll see you here, there, or in the air! :)
I love the way you and Mrs. 731 are a team. Keep up the great work. Also... I don't know if it's my horrible internet or what but I didn't get any link pop up when you hand framed for them at the end. Anyways.... God bless you and the family.
Great tour of an awesome shop. I've been following your channel for some time now and enjoy your content. As I said before your sucess is because you have your priorities, your belief in God, your commitment to your marriage and your work ethic. Continued good luck and you build your business. God Bless you and Mrs. 731.
Matt another great video as always, I really appreciate how you've inspired my journey into woodworking and I know a lot of others feel the same way. Really hope our paths cross one day and would love to visit and swap stories. Keep up the great work and your journey.
Without question, you have an amazing setup. It's obvious you also have some effective organizing skills. I'm in the information gathering and tool/accessories accumulation stage. Have to insulation our new 16' x 12' shed before I can start moving stuff from the garage. Watching your videos has cost me a small fortune without cutting a thing. LOL I absolutely enjoy learning from your videos.
I can’t remember what you’re shop looked like when I started following this channel but it’s clear you’ve come a long way. I’ll be moving this year and it looks like I’ll finally have enough space to try my hand at a side hustle. You have been a big inspiration for me. PS - Jesus already got me but I just want you to know that I had seen your videos in my feed for some time and finally started watching once I noticed your shirts.
So, for vertical storage area... add wheels. Build a box 10'x2' from 2x4, on top of 3/4" ply, leave one 2' side open, attach 2x4x4' to the corners (vertical posts to stop the boards from falling), and I'd make it so it can rotate a bit out so that you can slide stuff in past the end of your stairs when it's "opened" (I like rotation, pinned to floor rather than 4 casters because the whole cart will have a tendency to tip, so anchor that to a post anchored to floor. Add 2 casters for the "in/out" side and presto... vertical sheet storage, and you can get to the front or back easily. and it doesn't take too much space... I can make a sketch, but I think you got it. I'd also put a catch on the wall on the 2x4 closest to the stairs so it can be anchored high up and won't rotate on its own...
I am still setting up my wood shop. It is no where near as nice as yours. I hope to get everything in its place soon so I have peace of mind and know where everything is. But it is a work in progress. I am busy using the shop while attempting to set things up. This is my full time job now.
I haven't seen any of your videos that I did not enjoy Matt. Also happy that your business is growing and evolving, but say that, I sure do miss the builds.
Good for you guys! Debt-free... it's wonderful, when one's life situation allows it. It allows a "lightness of being" that has positive and perceptible health benefits.
I’m sure you get tired of me telling you this. But, you have done a great job getting of getting a lot of stuff in a relatively small area! It’s fun walking into your own shop and seeing all the stuff you build. Great video, nice shop tour!
Great Video Matthew. I haven't been with you from the very beginning, but I praise God for finding your channel when I did. Like you, I have a loving wife, that has stayed by my side, I look to both of you as role models of how to pull off the family business thing.
I really appreciate your channel and all the tool deals and woodworking tips you provide. I am amazed at the amount of money you are able to spend on tools when I am sure most people would not be able to afford all the Festool, Woodpeckers, and Sawstop power tools you have. Keep up the good work but I am sure you understand not everyone is able to afford such expensive taste that many TH-cam woodworkers are able to afford.
You are on your game! I saw those pants you're wearing and wanted to know where you got them. In the description! Awesome content, thanks for al your efforts.
I like how you emphasized "time". Most people want it now. I do primarily car audio content with a little woodworker stuff mixed in and same as you I've acquired my shop stuff over time. It makes no sense to go into major debt due to lack of patience, and that's coming from a guy who hates waiting! Great shop tour. One question, did you upgrade your electrical in the shop with more tools/usage. I need to do that in my shop for sure.
I love you guys and your public testimony. Keep it up. I wish I could have the space you have for a shop. No support here like you have. I take care of a house for some missionaries and they let me use a shed for a shop. I really need to learn to maximize space. I just acquired my Dad's shop and don't have room to work.
Great video Matt the shop and house studio and kitchen looks amazing. But more than anything Thank you for sharing your faith that you and Amy have it has given me hope that I can do the things I want to do with my faith in God know matter what is going on in my life.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thank you God Bless you and your family
I live in Wisconsin and at -8 for two days straight my 20 x 20 shop which is insulated stays at 62°. No problem. I have the smallest Mr. cool unit. I’ve had it for three years now and it is awesome. It works great during the summer as well
I’ve just started watching you. Really nice to see your shop. I always have a tough time in the winter. ( Canada ) still trying to find the perfect temp for the shop. Great stuff god bless
Thanks for the tour. It’s so nice to see a husband and wife working side by side on their business. I love how you put God in the center and are not to mention your faith. I believe we all need stronger faith and belief in God to help our society.
I have been following since before you went full time and am happy to see that it has been working out well for you. Are there any plans to possibly build a dedicated shop / video room
Awesome video. If you’ve never ordered from 731 you need to try it. I ordered a router bit tray and it was the coolest package I’ve ever received. I can tell you that Amazon cannot hang with Mrs 731. The personalization that goes into your packaging is genius and separates you from everybody else. I won’t go into details here, just place an order and you’ll see for yourself what I’m talking about. And mentioning Jesus in this video….. 100%! After all that’s our main job and you guys seem to never forget that. Continued blessings my friends!
Awesome video. Just got into wood working and found your videos. Then I found out you from the same town I couldn’t believe it. Wondering if you do any kind of workshop or just videos
Some Minisplit units work a lot better than others in low temps.... you have to get a "low ambient temp" model. Mine is rated to -13*F .... and some work at even lower temps. They don't work very well at the rated lowest temp, but it gives much better performance for example at 8*F than a non-low temp unit. Mine works really well down to around 0* but then fights frost build up and starts to lose a lot of the btu output. I've had it making a little heat at -15-20*F but not much :)
Nice garage workshop! Randomly found your channel not long ago and glad I did! Also I Love that you aren't afraid to wear your faith...literally on your T-shirts. Keep up the good work and work for GOD first and foremost.
Great tour. What I like most is your common sense approach to what you need for what you are doing. The others that offer “tricks “ are the same ones that say hold my beer and watch this. The most important thing you covered was being right with the Lord. Great information, please keep them coming.
Great video Matt. Half of my 2-car garage is storage so I don't have the room for a miter or a filtration station and things like that. I'll figure something out. God bless.
I started watching your channel a few years back for the gospel messages on your t-shirts. But boy have I learned so much from watching how you go about your business. May our LORD and Savior continue to bless you and Ms 731.
Next step is to get rid of the shed and build a new shop in it's place. If you have the land, that would be all around the best thing. You get your garage back, can plan the building size and form around your desired shop layout and you get more space to move, store and assemble. There are very affordable pre build sollutions out there. Or build it all by yourself. Either way, as you have a fully functioning shop and don't need to rush to finish it, you have great controll over the cost. Nothing worse than to have to finish a project like this, while you face a supply shortage and have to pick the more expensive option. Easy to avoid for you. May even use half of the garage for lumber storage and the other half for you loves car. Btw, either you are selling your wax really cheap, or the supply cost are quite low for you. Keep up the great work mate! Greetings from germany.
The reason that mini-split doesnt work well in the winter is because it's a heat pump. They become less useful lower than 30 degree F. Nice shop setup!
I got goosebumps when you spoke about nothing matters compared to god. It’s easy to forget what’s important. Thank you for all you do, I always look forward to your videos and message.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is nice watching people grow and learn in life and be part of that journey. and I agree with you said at the end about God. you have helped me ( and I am sure others too) so much. God Bless to you and your family.
Hi I just wanted to say thank you for letting your faith in God be a present on your channel. It is a trait I admire and I'm sure that God will bless you accordingly for sharing the Word. (I hardly ever thumb up on anything and I have only commented once before on an other video so I hope that shows my appreciation.)
Great video! I have really enjoyed watching your growth on TH-cam! You were one of my inspirations to follow the dream to grow a woodworking business. When I started watching your channel, I was recovering from my first hip replacement. 2 1/2 years later, I am again recovering from the next hip replacement 🤦♂️. I was at a stall before this surgery, but now I am excited as ever to get back out there and hit the ground running. Just waiting on Nurse Ratchet (my wife) to give me the go ahead 😂. Just joking, she is a saint for caring for me through all 6 of my hip surgeries, plus she takes better care of me than any nurse I ever had! On another note, I don’t think I ever realized that you guys actually made your board butter. I thought it was a product you bought wholesale and put your label on it. That is even more amazing! How do you find the time for everything and needed R&R? Anyway, Great job Brother, keep up the amazing job!!
Thank you Tom. We appreciate you. Praying for your full recovery. A good wife is more precious than anything!! Amy and I take a long weekend once every 4 to 6 weeks or so to get away. Keeps us from burning out.
People complain about the *dust* collection on the Kapex but don't seem to understand there is a difference in *dust* collection and *chip* collection.
To support the comments of another person on mini split units. I live in central Ohio where the temps can dip below zero. I have an LG Red Zone 15K unit for a 550 sq ft shop. I barely notice change in my electric bill and I've never had any trouble keeping the shop on temp. I did my research and at the time this was the best unit for me. One thing I did compare was I looked into a cheaper unit that is very popular and rated as DYI. AS always I compare weight of the overall product meaning how much metal versus plastic in it and the LG was almost twice the weight, was not a hard choice. It was also comparable in weight and performance with the Mitsubishi which tends to be the gold standard in mini splits. My unit is efficient down to 5 degrees and then starts to loose efficiency and will produce heat down to -14. To conclude I insulated well with 7" in the walls and 10" in the ceiling and double pain windows. Ron J from Central Ohio

Add a carport to the front of the garage. That can may some additional floor space for any larger projects.

Agreed... He definitely has his priorities in order and he Glorifies His Father... which makes a world of difference.

Love your site. Helps me in selecting tools and also your sharing of your faith. God bless!!!
Great tour! You are a wise couple and have added great value to my interest in woodworking! Love your t shirts and faith!
Very nice shop😊
Awesome video! Love seeing the shop as well as the studio set up. You guys are awesome!
I love your workbench. Beauty & function.
I'm in NY, and it gets cold here. My mini split will go down to -14 degrees. You need the right one for the area you live.
Great video. Much appreciated. Looking forward to the workbench build you talked about.
Outstanding video and content. Thank you for your insight!
Love the content and channel and your faith. God bless.
Been watching your channel since you started, God has blessed you with a talent and thanks for sharing your journey and faith.
I appreciate that
I can’t remember what you’re shop looked like when I started following this channel but it’s clear you’ve come a long way.
AJ CEO is a good source of information for all things video & audio.
Wow, I had no idea that my board butter was made in your kitchen. Busy beavers!
That Omniwall is really nice!!!
Good for you guys! Debt-free... it's wonderful, when one's life situation allows it. It allows a "lightness of being" that has positive and perceptible health benefits.
Good video and I typically like your stuff. I could do with out the fairy tail shout out at the end.
I’m sure you get tired of me telling you this. But, you have done a great job getting of getting a lot of stuff in a relatively small area!
It’s fun walking into your own shop and seeing all the stuff you build.
Great video, nice shop tour!
One great idea for your Bambu is to make latch-cams for the french cleats.
20 yrs this winter. 😍
My husband puts up with both my woodworking & my eBay reselling. He loves the stuff I build for him though.
horse stall mats are PERFECT for a home gym in the garage.
It works great during the summer as well
Nice! Mine isn't inusulated so that may hurt mine some
@@731Woodworksdefinitely the difference
I’ve just started watching you. Really nice to see your shop. I always have a tough time in the winter. ( Canada ) still trying to find the perfect temp for the shop. Great stuff god bless
Put the Mini split in Turbo mode makes a big difference
Thanks for the tour. It’s so nice to see a husband and wife working side by side on their business. I love how you put God in the center and are not to mention your faith. I believe we all need stronger faith and belief in God to help our society.
I have been following since before you went full time and am happy to see that it has been working out well for you. Are there any plans to possibly build a dedicated shop / video room
Well said brother.
Very nice I sure wish i had a garage. I love woodworking.
Tip for heating the garage... Look into a Diesel Heater. You can get one for under $150 and I bet it'd heat that room up. Cheers
Outstanding thanks
They have plans on moving
The reason that mini-split doesnt work well in the winter is because it's a heat pump. They become less useful lower than 30 degree F. Nice shop setup!
I got goosebumps when you spoke about nothing matters compared to god. It’s easy to forget what’s important. Thank you for all you do, I always look forward to your videos and message.
Any horizontal surface in my shop has crap on it. In fact there are layers of crap. Nice to see one that is clean and organized.
Love your videos and how strong you are in your faith. I’m trying to get right with God. ❤✝️
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is nice watching people grow and learn in life and be part of that journey. and I agree with you said at the end about God. you have helped me ( and I am sure others too) so much. God Bless to you and your family.
Outstanding video. Very informative. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice shop
Hi I just wanted to say thank you for letting your faith in God be a present on your channel. It is a trait I admire and I'm sure that God will bless you accordingly for sharing the Word. (I hardly ever thumb up on anything and I have only commented once before on an other video so I hope that shows my appreciation.)
Cool shop!
Thank you Matt, I really appreciate it. It is really good you take some time regularly to get away and decompress.
People complain about the *dust* collection on the Kapex but don't seem to understand there is a difference in *dust* collection and *chip* collection.
May GOD, continue to use and bless the Outlaw’s.
Nice video Matt and good massage
Awesome. Thanks for sharing
