A beautiful tribute to Ray Davies and the Kinks. One could argue that Tweedy is the modern American songwriter equivalent of Davies. Just an awesome cover, all the harmony vocals very true to the original. Thanks Wilco
@@josephineduff2306 You don't have to lecture me about how to listen to music when I offer a compliment to Wilco. I've been familiar with this famous Kinks song for decades.
Some people who have only heard " You Really Got Me " or " Lola " , don't know that the Kinks penned quite a catalog of Classics. The Kinks Chronicles has most of it. My favorite of theirs from that period is that superb rocker " Victoria"
They remind me of Huntington Long Island's Basement Legends " KRL"...Kevin, Rob and Louie. No one knew of them that's what made them so famous. "FRANCESCO'S ! "
Wow. If you'd told me this was the kinks live in their heydey I would almost have believed you, but that I don't think the kinks ever pulled this off live.
I'm going to blow a head gasket!!!
My favorite band covering my favorite song.....unbelievable
I feel just the same way! Can't believe I only just found out about this! Hope I get to see them do it live one day :)
Moi aussi!

Good job, Wilco. What a difference backing vocals makes in this brilliant song!
Have you not listened to the original? The Kinks, Waterloo Sunset. Check it out. This time, use your ears.

Two of my favorite bands, Wilco and Lucius, covering one of my favorite songs by another of my all time favorite bands, The Kinks. Perfect.
One of the best songs ever. Great version.
Fantastic version,with great backing vocals
Thank you, Geoff Tweaty, whoever you are! I was there and I treasure these videos.

For those of us who couldn't be there, but now are wondering why they didn't just sell the house and follow them as long as they could...thank you.

So who else requested this?
Jeff, marry me! And my husband!
just an fyi from an old kinks fan the Terry and Julie in the song are actors Terence Stamp and Julie Christie who were lovers, :-)
Not according to Ray Davies, and since he wrote the song...........
Ray denied that. He said that the Terry in the song is inspired by his nephew Terry.
