I'm lars main since tekken 7. And I heard Lars was trashed. And I believed Lars will God tier in tekken 8. Happy to see knee playing my main. Love from Pakistan
Looks like he's trying to abuse Lars' stances. Personally, outside those moves out of stance, I believe this character is still ass. It's difficult to react to, but on block (except for DE3), all his moves that transition into Dynamic Entry, Silent Entry, even his new Limited Entry, can be interrupted with launchers or CH moves of some kind. They are also weak to SSL. His armor move out Silent Entry tracks and will eat a hopkick, but it's a high, and all you get is a knockdown. Someone who takes the time to lab against this character will see Lars' limitations. There's a VOD somewhere of Nobi using Drag against some Lars online, and he's able to punish all of this. Definitely not easy, but it's possible.
I'm glad you saying this because I been saying this same thing as a lars main all his stuff is fraudulent in stance and he basically still the same character as 7. Just more ways to go into stance, his frames are also nerfed in this game so he has no hit advantage
@pfuze_5775 I love Lars. I'm a sucker for generic RPG protagonists. Something about him brings me back to the good old days of playing through Majora's Mask. But, I just don't like his tools. I feel like I'm forced to over commit on my offense by relying so much on his stances and his crazy lows to pressure my opponent. It's hard to focus on spacing, downloading your opponent, and then deciding how to safely take and make use of your turn. I think Lars is supposed to serve as a sort of easy Mishima/poking character, and if they buffed his neutral or made him safer, he'd be so cancerous to play against. I'm debating on learning T8 with Lars or just peacing out and picking a character with a more solid neutral.
@@fellazbegamin3912 I say this as being a lars main since tekken 6 that you are absolutely 100 percent right. I barely ranked to rajin with him and I have alot of experience using him and it was very tough getting there. You are forced to overcommitt for reward and certain matchups like steve and yoshi to name a few it becomes a uphill battle. Steve can remain safe and grounded while yoshi can use flash to stop lars momentum even when lars has the frame advantage. I asked myself what does namco want me to do in a game geared on offense yet it doesnt apply to yoshi. His nuetral isnt the best which in high level play it comes down to the nuetral in any fighting game. His stance doesnt have any gimmicks and opponents are never afraid to attack. I picked up nina and was shocked how good she was and how fast i was ranking up with her. Crazy isnt it.
I think he just realized that Asuka player isn't legit and decided to end it. I know just about every real big names in Korean TK community but never heard of a player called Line. But I do know a legit Korean Asuka player named "sLine" who helped me ranked up a lot. Maybe this line guy is a fan of "sLine"
I find it kinda sad that Lars' SEN mixup is so powerful that there's pretty much no point doing anything other than relentlessly using it. I don't find it fun to win just because I played rock, paper, scissors. Poking and landing a gorgeous sidestep arc blast though..? Very satisfying.
Guys…Knee could play Lars even in Tekken 7. He can play EVERY character. How do you think he knew Lars was so bad? BECAUSE HE MASTERED THROUGH CHARACTER AND KNEW HE WAS TRASH! Knee don’t just say that for nothin
@@aaguy63 true but not well. Oppponents doesnt fear his stances at all levels and it forces him to over committ for reward and you they always know when to expext his lows. I think in ertain matchups he can win but alot of matchups are extremely tough.

Lars is still rather trash. People who play him have to be extremely careful and take many risks.
