You're so right both of these guys were known for singing and performing their arses off every time they stepped on a stage, though in very different ways!
Ha yeah! The guitarist is Mark Lizotte - his stage name back then was Johnny Diesel and he always reminded me of Johnny Depp too - same kind of beauty.....great reaction.
You're right, and it was nice to see someone actually notice it. It's common courtesy to do that anyway, however it often get's lost on so many artists.
you couldn't find a better song to check your lotto tickets to IMO. BY THE WAY the third guy harmonizing with Jimmy and John is Johnny Diesel. He has some great tunes of his own including "Cryin Shame". For Jimmy Barnes, check out his song with his band Cold Chisel called "Bow River" or "Cheap Wine".
John Farnham is my favorite singer of all time & Home Free is my favorite group for the same reasons: they're both incredibly talented, humble, kind, generous, down to earth & absolute goofballs! This is my favorite duet ever & when Diesel joins in with Farnsey & Barnsey, it's even more magical! 😊
Johnny Diesel on the guitar had the voice and talent to be a front man himself, but he was shy and didn't want the attention. Videos of Diesel singing by himself are fantastic and rare, in that few people got to watch him live compared to the crowds he could have gotten if he wanted. Both John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes have powerhouse, unique voices, but also incredible control, in that they each dueted with a lot of other singers, and reigned their voices in to match the other singers in a really artistic and sensitive way. John Farnham was only ever outmatched when he dueted with Anthony Warlow, an opera singer. They did a comedy routine together and its the first time Farnham was ever pushed to his limits on stage. Its a wildly stunning and slyly funny performance.
Im not sure where you are from but Diesel was huge througtout the late 80s early 90s and into the 2000s in Australia. Listen to Johnny Diesel and the Injectors first album and you will really hear him when he was full of fire
I saw Diesel live, and yeah, I got that feeling too. There wasn't much (no) energy, and I got the feeling during the entire performance that he'd rather be standing at the back playing the guitar.
Two of the absolute greatest singers to ever sing, who happen to originate from the same separated rock…must hear more musical gems from down under. No thanks to the American recording industry!
An awesome collaboration of 2 legends both so deeply loved and respected here in Australia so I am glad too see your enjoying a journey into their music, great to see Diesel also he is Jimmy Barne's brother in law and also a great musician in his own right. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶
John Farnham (blonde one) was our King of Pop and started his career in 1967 with SADIE THE CLEANING LADY (on youtube as well). Jimmy started later and both were originally born in England coming to Australia later. Jimmy became King of Rock. John is a close friend and colleague with Olivia Newton John. They worked together on THE MAIN EVENT (whole concert on youtube with Anthony Warlow - our Phantom from PHANTOM OF THE OPERA). He and Liv also sang at the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony DARE TO DREAM (again, on youtube). You will find a lot of both of them on youtube - John is known down under as THE VOICE.
The second singer is John Farnham, another great Australian artist; and the guitarist is Johnny Diesel, another great singer and Jimmy Barnes brother-in-law.
Thansk for supporting Aussie Artists....That was great. Two of the best entertainers in Australia.... They just don't make music like that anymore.... Wait a minute ..yes they do..Jimmy is still recording and touring at 66. Checkout one of his latest releases with Josh Tesky...Do You Love Me m.th-cam.com/video/A-Nep2KZJow/w-d-xo.html John at 72, not so active since covid, but is still known as THE VOICE in Australia. Check out his version of HELP live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Both Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham have done duets with other singers, many who are very famous .My favourite is one of John Farnham singing with Anthony Warlow. Anthony is an incredible Australian singer, mainly of musical theatre style and he is opera trained. They do 'Granada' LIVE together. It is fabulous as well as being funny. It comes from a concert tour called, 'The Main Event,' also with Olivia Newton-John. You'll love it!
Good cover, and they definitely brought it. You should react to the original which was actually written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter back in 67 and song by Sam & Dave. If you loved this one you'll definitely love the original. Great reaction!
Love all three of these legends - You should really react to Jimmy dropping a new cover of a song he did with this album with original singer Sam Moore of Sam and Dave - 'Soothe Me' - Jimmy mid 60's and Sam 86 - you won't regret it - it is fantastic - only released a few weeks ago
Jimmy Barnes is Australian Rock Royalty first with his band Cold Chisel then a solo career that is still going check out Jimmy Barnes and Joe Barrommossa STONE COLD
These guys are legends. Love your reaction! Sad news on John Farnham, he has just had a mouth cancer removed. Jimmy and Diesel still making lots of music- fun fact-they are married to two sisters! So brother-in-laws!😃
Much prefer this over the original, as much as I love Sam and Dave, their version was a little slow for me. Jimmy has recently done a duet with Sam Moore (of Sam and Dave), I’m sure he was tickled pink as Jimmy’s music taste and style was heavily influenced by American soul legends.
Ditto, I prefer this over Sam and Dave but I also prefer the Hey Hey live version over this one. Will be interesting to see who sings it with Jimmy on Friday hopefully Michael Paynter. 🎼🎵❤️🔥
The internet with things like TH-cam has had an effect on the quality of music, especially with rap sadly. Before you had to give it your all as Records/CDs was really the only way to reach listeners., and if your music wasn’t up to scratch forget that sale.
Sorry folks. No way is this better than Sam and Dave. Check out their 1967 performance on Beat Club(German TV show). Type Sam & Dave - When Something Is Wrong With My Baby (1967) | LIVE

Jimmy’s brother in-law
Farnham and Barnes, doesn’t get much better than that. Soooo much soul. 👍🔥
Farnham is the most generous performer. He announces his musicians by name to an audience that otherwise wouldn't care. It's beautiful.
You're right, and it was nice to see someone actually notice it. It's common courtesy to do that anyway, however it often get's lost on so many artists.

USMadGirl, oh I agree absolutely.
Awesome reaction guys. Check out John Farnham “help” live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra next
Yes!!!!
I second that!
Yessss !!
By far, ...the best version of this song yet! Facts
Johnny Diesel on the guitar had the voice and talent to be a front man himself, but he was shy and didn't want the attention. Videos of Diesel singing by himself are fantastic and rare, in that few people got to watch him live compared to the crowds he could have gotten if he wanted.

A couple of Aussie greats that get the blues.
Jimmy has so much SOUL and a very unique voice. LOVE HIM. This was nice, but can't compare to "STONE COLD" with Joe Bonamassa - goosebumps...
100%

Omg. The Edward Scissorhands thing. I always thought that!!!!!
Bravo!
Thanks for playing this.
Soul deep.
Soul done right.
Great Aussie Singers, they were joined by Johnny Diesel who is also a solo singer
John Farnham was born with a set of pipes, that unblocks chimneys. 🥃👍
Jimmy Barnes and INXS: "Good Times"
Yes - a good one. Also, Jimmy's duet of "Good Times" with Keith Urban is also fantastic.
@@cindyfalstrom7231 yes yes I love that one too

Three excellent performers!
"Edward Scissorhands" is Jimmys son in law, Diesel who is a great performer in his own right
After she said that I thought...yep Deisel does give of Edward scissor hand vibes
@@serenepeacefulrelaxingmusi3874 brother in law or son in law?

Great reaction and great comments.
Nothing better than Aussie music royalty Farnsey and Barnsey!
The guitarist is Diesel. He is the brother in law to Jimmy Barnes.
The guitar player is Jimmy's brother in law from a Australian rock band
Aussie legends! Onya mate.
i see you are EASING her into Jimmy Barnes, and John Farnham.....hahhhaa STONE COLD..&.Lazy with Joe, is all i have to say!!
Check out Jimmy and Joe Bonamassa in studio
The guitarist was a star on his own. His name is Johnny Diesel & he could sing really well.

You should really do the original by Sam and Dave.
Your screen is TO SMALL. We want to see the singers.
We love John and Jimmy.
I prefer the Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville version that won them a Grammy in 1990: th-cam.com/video/zWyHg0iOlX4/w-d-xo.html
I definitely prefer this and the Sam and Dave rendition over the link you shared but I'm still glad you introduced me to it. Thank you.
