my bubby I thought I was the only one! Ever since they mentioned that in a Q&A! Hahahahaha. I feel like that’s my contribution to them for the loveliness this brings my life. 😊
Love the updates! Aaron did have a good idea to show the difference. I like the "all the same" look. Although I am sure that anything you do will be awesome!
Idea for next year: plant the purple fountain grass in the center in all containers then plant different colors/plants. Example every other container purple fowers and then pink flowers. Do different flowers in different shades of purple and different flowers in different shades of pink. Whatever you do will be wonderful and I'll watch your video. You guys are awesome!!
Whatever you do will be beautiful, but it would be fun to see different flowers in all the pots. Love everything you guys do, and looking forward to seeing more!
I definitely believe that you should continue planting the same combination in all the pots. Just like your hayracks on the other fence, the uniformity of all the same plants in the same pots makes a bigger impact. This is more pleasing to the eye than trying to readjust to a different combination of plants in each pot. It's so interesting to be at one end of the fence, then look back and see the fountain grass so uniformly and the rings of purple and yellow around each one. If there were different combos in each pot, even if you planted the same thriller in every one, would seem helter skelter instead of uniform. It's absolutely amazing how well these pots have performed with yours and Aaron's feeding/spraying and topping off water consistency. Thanks for this UPDATE guys! 💜
LOVE this combination with the grass. Really liked last year, but this is even better. I think there is so much variety in your garden that doing them the same makes more sense, imo.
I like all the same flowers in the containers. Thanks for showing the container without much sun. I hate it didn’t do well but I appreciate seeing what happened as a result.
So glad to see this video. Really appreciate the inserted photos and videos and sadly I also am glad you had the trial pots in the shade. So thank you. Hope your family is doing wonderful!
Maybe try doing 2 different mixes for next year and then alternate them along the fence. I agree with Aaron about showing the difference with full sun and little sun. Maybe try the vertigo grass in these pots for next year
Looks beautiful! Thank ya'll for going ahead and planting the one on the end. To tell folks how important the correct watering & light requirements are only goes so far...but SHOWING them will REALLY make a difference! :)
I'm glad you showed what happened with no sun. Amazing difference. I'd like to see something totally different just to see how it looks. Maybe every other one different. idk but I live what you already have. Love always what ideas you put out.
So very pretty!! Must make you smile when you drive in!! 😊 How about next year you do 3 or 4 in the middle different than the outer ones? Something tall...a big bold plant....and then different around the bottom, for the middle ones. Then....the outer ones with a lower flowy plant with some others around cascading over the pots?? Yes? No? You know best, Laura. Everything you do is beautiful!! ❤
Thank you for the update. Also it was helpful seeing how plants perform when not getting the proper amount of sunlight. That helped a lot! Love your videos!
Gorgeous, as always! Thaks for the update. I love the uniformity of your pots. Having said that, I have a few of those same containers on my deck and I planted them differently. I live in a townhouse with a small yard so the Crescent Garden containers really allow me to expand my options and experiment with various plants. With gratitude from zone 7a.
I love the uniform look of all the containers being the same & the comparison of sun vs shade planting (great idea Aaron). My suggestion is to plant the 2 containers that are in the part shade and all shade alike using appropriate plants. Maybe some thing that contrasts to the full sun containers. I'm sure whatever you guys decide to do will look gorgeous!
The containers look spectacular. I want to try the self watering containers. Also I think it was a very good lesson to actually see the difference in performance based on light exposure. Thank you.
Well done on the pots! I like all the same look or color blocking. Fill each pot with the same color but different color from pot to pot. I'm sure whatever you do will be amazing !!
Great idea about putting the same planter under shade and what can happen to it. I love all the planters having the same color scheem. Can't wait to see what you come up next year.
Even if we know they need sun, seeing the difference in your flowers really hits home, I think if you go different flowers in the pots next yr, maybe keep the colors kinda the same for a nice flow. I just planted some purple fountain grass in a fall planter, which I've never done, I mean fall planters, added a pale purple aster, 3 tiny white mums, and stole a purple an white verbena from another pot for it. Wish I'd stumbled onto your channel in Feb, you gave me the gumption I needed to get my butt in gear an do the gardening I've been thinking about for yrs, Thanks for the kick in the pants.! Next yr my yard will be looking Fabulous, Thanks to you an Arron, and I have my cat Coyote tagging along.
Showing the containers that don't get full sun is so helpful! I think my supertunias would like a tad more sun. I did purple fountain grass too and they are huge!
Loved the idea to show the ones with less light....helps us less knowledgeable ones. They look so beautiful. Love when you plant them all with the same combos, but it would be great to see for one season a real mixture.....better you guys than me. lol Thanks for such content you always show.
I don't think you will enjoy the final look, as much, if you put something different in each pot next year. I think the uniformity of planting is what makes this particular showcase so dazzling. You will end up with different heights, different colors, different structures, different shapes in each pot. Your eye won't know where to go. Some will perform better than others... All uniformity will be lost. I think you will DEFINITELY need at least one common element to each plot in order to pull it off.
Thank you for showing and up dating us on these containers I love to see all that you are doing. I was thinking maybe next year for your containers that you plant ever other container. Like EVENS are a combination of flowers and the ODDS are another combination of greens or maybe just one item that you can put lights on for a beautiful evening look. Just throwing some thoughts out there, but what ever you do I know it will be just the best!
Great update guys!! For next year's containers, how about an ombre effect? The first 2 pots in the shade could have plants that do well there. Then the next three (pots 3-5) transition to something that does well in the sun, but still relate to the first two. Then the next three (pots 6-8) would transition again and so on down the line. After the initial 2 pots, you would have 4 groups of 3 pots making transitions. Whatever you decide I know will be stunning and I will duplicate it in my yard.
Wish I could afford those pots! I say you do all different pots next year, but maybe have a unifying element. So, say they all have the same color scheme but w/completely different plants in each one. Or pick 1 or 2 predominant repeat colors but again, w/all different plants. Or use one element repeated such as the same thriller, or spiller, but the rest of the plants totally different in colors, shapes, in each pot. It’s a cool challenge to use all different plants cuz it’s gonna show us the variety of sun loving plants for the many zones they’re labeled for that we can choose from, whether annuals (or especially) if you use some perennials. I think where most folks go wrong is they don’t realize that they gotta fertilize weekly. I find a weekly bloom booster is best for ALL of my plants in addition to the slow release @ planting, & for pots slow release again in 2-3 months. Very few plants don’t require regular feeding. Using all different plants in each pot can help show us how your fertilizer schedule helps you get your results across the board. Thanks for the update! It’s looking beautiful!
Love the look. I recently purchased two self watering containers and can't wait to try them out. The purple fountain grass is so pretty along with the petunias. 🌻💕
Next year, you should plant whatever makes your heart sing! You inspired me to do my own pots with Proven Winners petunias and they turned out beautifully. My sister said that she had never seen flowers as big or as beautiful except at Disney World. ☺️
This is exactly what i needed! Great inspiration for fall vegetable planting. I wish I knew about the Bonide products about a month ago once I started getting hit with powdery mildew and grub worms, but I'm so thankful I found Laura and her youtube channel!
Maybe try every other one the same next year. All different I think would change it up too much. More consistency. Love how everything looks. You and your family are wonderful!
Love the color combo, the fountain grass is gorgeous. The difference between the shady spot is important for a beginner time see. One of my (tools) is a small binder with pockets to stash all my tags and receipts. My garden beds aren't even close to the size of yours but this is very helpful for a non pro gardener. Thanks for all the inspiration, I'm trying a lot of new plants and revisiting some that didn't do well in the past. So much fun.
Absolutely Gorgeous! Although I like the symmetry of all the containers, I like the idea of planting differently just from a learning perspective to see what works best and the different combinations. And thanks for showing that container in the shade. Again just from a learning perspective, it's great to see the differences in plant growth just from the change in light conditions. Thanks again.
We watched this so late we were about to have Garden Answer withdraws. So awesome that you show what a planter will look like without the need for sun. Oh yeah no fair you don’t have issues with humidity. I know you guys would like some rain but trust me too much just hasn’t been good to us lol. Although what we have in pots have done amazing. I also think that you should stay with the same arrangement with all the planters. Awesome video!!! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
I loved this years combo, liked it so much better than all the pinks last year, specially because the same plants grew differently in each pot, so some have more Bordeaux, or limoncello, or a bit more royal velvet peaking out. I'd go for all the same next year, it really goes well with your more formal style of gardening, at least in my opinion. Thanks for the great videos!
I would love to see a mixture of plant combos. It would be amazing to do some pots with flowers and others with just a highlight flower and greenery. This would allow you to showcase certain bloomers. For example: a dwarf sunflower/ Dahlia planted with coleus, heuchera, and highlighted with some calibrachoa and sweet potato vine. Begonias would be amazing in those end planters. If planting is too time consuming, you could do a drawing for a lucky you tube subscriber to hang/plant with Laura for a day or weekend!! Food for thought!!
Those are beautiful!, I like the consistency look down the drive! I planted a big container with supertunias bubble gum and the lavender, loved them and I only did 2 little 4” pots. Their now draping and full. Going to put more in the pot next yr! Woohoo!
Hey Laura! Love your channel! That's my favourite ornamental grass. Here in pretoria, South Africa it's a perrenial. All I do is cut it all the way down to nothing at the end of winter, give it some compost and it bounces right back!
They look even better than last year! Next year, If don't plant them uniformly, maybe two related design combinations that alternate? One element, like purple fountain grass, could be the constant that ties them all together...
By us in South Africa, purple fountain grass is an amazing edition to any garden. Is a perennial over here... Which is a bonus. My garden will from now always include a couple of grasses. It's a filler for the border and a triller in a container. And planted next to a walkway, it's very elegant and textile. Every time I walk past them, my fingers just have to comb though them... Definitely a must have!!!
Simply gorgeous! Thanks for the info on BT spray, I’ve got a very old Geranium that thru the ages each one of us in the family has added a color, this year it’s been eaten alive by caterpillars.
Here’s a challenge for you...next year, look for plants with similar sizes and coloring, most for full sun but some with better shade tolerance for the two planters on the end.
They look great! I think having different flowers in the pots next year would be too busy looking. Unless you do 2 different types of looks and alternate them, that could be cute.
The containers look amazing! I love the way it looks as is but you could even change it up next year, like every other planter is different. Maybe two complementary blends of plants! 😊
watchin' full ads just for that sweet baby😊 & Russell!🐈
my bubby I thought I was the only one! Ever since they mentioned that in a Q&A! Hahahahaha. I feel like that’s my contribution to them for the loveliness this brings my life. 😊
Wouldn’t you love to be Laura’s neighbor? Imagine sitting outside with your morning coffee and looking at the beautiful gardens!!! 🌸
Yup, that would be nice!
Yes that will be awesome!
Not sure, I might feel a little intimidated and lazy next door to Laura!
I think that at some point in every video. :-)
@@mikemalone9896 , maybe she would help out😂
Love the updates! Aaron did have a good idea to show the difference. I like the "all the same" look. Although I am sure that anything you do will be awesome!
That was a good idea to show one planter that did not get much light. The planters look beautiful.
Yes. Now I understand why my plants look like that...not enough sun
All the same. Looking down the driveway and seeing all the same planters is just so formal. Very satisfying. 🤣
Wow, what a difference with sun and no sun! Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad your husband decided to put that planter under a tree. Especially for ppl that are new beginners on planting new stuff. TFS jen
I think, as usual, that you did a fantastic job. You are the Serena Williams of the flower world. You are always a winner.
I love the look of all the same flowers along the fence. Less business and easy on the eyes. The flowers look beautiful. 👍
Having them all planted the same gives it the WOW factor. It looks absolutely beautiful!!!
Those pots - absolutely stunning, I LOVE mass planting, you really absorb what beauty you see without any distraction !
Glorious is the right word to describe those containers! Well done!
Whatever you do will be beautiful, but it would be fun to see different flowers in all the pots. Love everything you guys do, and looking forward to seeing more!

I think it would be fun to plant them all different! I love seeing your creativity in your floral designs!
Love to see fall colored flowers around your fountain grass for this season. Your containers look beautiful.
These are so beautiful! God bless you and your precious family 😘💖🙏🏻
Those are beautiful! I love how you use natural, organic products.
Great education on the impact of light or the lack of it. Plus your solution to the aphids problem. Thanks so much!
Morning!!!! I’d like to see different looks. Maybe a 🌈 look!!! How fun would that be!!!! Thanks as always Aaron and Laura!!!
That would be cool looking...but Laura doesn't care for red. I may try that next year in an area of our smaller garden.
Guardians Minifarm she doesn’t seem to mind cooler toned reds so she just may consider it.
Love how this looks with all of them the same. Love to see you do another planting like this one.
LOVE this combination with the grass. Really liked last year, but this is even better. I think there is so much variety in your garden that doing them the same makes more sense, imo.
I love the height of the fountain grass! Adds a lot the fence. They are beautiful!!😍
I like all the same flowers in the containers. Thanks for showing the container without much sun. I hate it didn’t do well but I appreciate seeing what happened as a result.
Wow that did make a huge difference. They turned out so pretty. All your gardens look awesome. 💚💜💙
So glad to see this video. Really appreciate the inserted photos and videos and sadly I also am glad you had the trial pots in the shade. So thank you. Hope your family is doing wonderful!
Wow they look beautiful. I love when you show updates. Good idea on showing the difference sun makes .
Love the same colors in these pots. It’s so striking 😍
Maybe try doing 2 different mixes for next year and then alternate them along the fence. I agree with Aaron about showing the difference with full sun and little sun. Maybe try the vertigo grass in these pots for next year
I like the uniformity of them all being the same design. They look gorgeous this year, I'll have to plant that limoncello next year.
Brilliant showing difference in lights. Thank you Aaron for suggesting it. The visual example is very helpful!
Looks beautiful! Thank ya'll for going ahead and planting the one on the end. To tell folks how important the correct watering & light requirements are only goes so far...but SHOWING them will REALLY make a difference! :)

I'd love to see an end of season garden tour and get updates on a lot of your projects!
Thanks for the comparison of sunlight vs shade. Definitely would like more videos like that
Gorgeous the colors are beautiful! Everything I see is outstanding!

Those planters are so pretty! I love the color combo. Tfs💕💕💕
❤️those planters. Absolutely beautiful.
GORGEOUS. Thank you for inspiring me to grow Purple Fountain Grass.
I agree with Kim Chtistiansen’s suggestion. Lovely update Laura.
Great video! The idea about showing different plant combos sounds great.
Good idea Aaron! I love to see the comparison! All the others look beautiful!
Thank you for the update. Also it was helpful seeing how plants perform when not getting the proper amount of sunlight. That helped a lot! Love your videos!
That was great to see what happens with the plants in shade.
Wow your lanterns are Gorgeous . Hats off to you 🎩❤️😊👍
Love them! I used to hate grasses but you have changed my mind. Also, the examples in the shade were helpful!!
I love those pots!! One day I will have some too 💕🌸.
Those look amazing!
I think it would be really striking to see 2 combinations alternating in them.
LOOKING BEAUTIFUL!!!. THE PURPLE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE COLOR...I LOVE IIIT!!!. KEEP USING THAT COLOR!!!. THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATES!!!. BLESSINGS!!!.

Really beautiful, have loved the sun for certain , I like that you showed how the pots in the shade did also, so enjoy the video's from you both !

The grass is so pretty. Please do a video on using the fungus and worms preventive products. And do different combinations in each planter.
So pretty. I like the uniformity of them all looking the same; however, I’m sure whatever you choose they’ll be beautiful!

They look beautiful! I am from The Netherlands and i love your channel,. I follow you for quite a while , but first time i comment .xxxSonja
I would love to see those containers planted up every other one with a different arrangement!
So pretty again this year
This is exactly what i needed! Great inspiration for fall vegetable planting. I wish I knew about the Bonide products about a month ago once I started getting hit with powdery mildew and grub worms, but I'm so thankful I found Laura and her youtube channel!

I'd love to see a different color in each container for next year. Make it into a rainbow gradient!
Wow! It did make a difference!
Absolutely Stunning. I am jelly beans 😍😍😍
Love the look. It's amazing!
Beautiful! 💚💚💚
i love the plants you have now
They look like colorful pineapples
Love the container
Simply gorgeous! Thanks for the info on BT spray, I’ve got a very old Geranium that thru the ages each one of us in the family has added a color, this year it’s been eaten alive by caterpillars.
Here’s a challenge for you...next year, look for plants with similar sizes and coloring, most for full sun but some with better shade tolerance for the two planters on the end.
They look great! I think having different flowers in the pots next year would be too busy looking. Unless you do 2 different types of looks and alternate them, that could be cute.
Beautiful colors
The containers look amazing! I love the way it looks as is but you could even change it up next year, like every other planter is different. Maybe two complementary blends of plants! 😊
