    Oh my, l actually dated one of them folks back in the early 90's when I lived in NYC. Loved hanging out at Wetlands club. Still love your music. All the best. I moved back to Canada.

    I am actually dancing in this music video, with my mother and my brother. I was only 13 years of age, when I was a part of this music video. This video was shot in NYC, in the area of Union Square. Nice music artist I got to meet in person. It is just a shame they became one hit wonders. Yes, really!

      +Ryan Armstrong Nope - this was obviously filmed in Washington Square Park. Toby, AKA "ROCKER T" went to Stuyvesant High School with some of my friends, so he'd be hanging around quite a bit. The Skadanks and the Ska scene in NYC in the 80's was off the charts with The Boilers, A-Kings, Toasters, etc. It was a great time to be a teenager in the NYC. Toby is still working - but the Skadanks are long gone.

    This song slapped my cousins 1989 Honda Civic hatchback with 4-14” subs 6- 6x9 four way speakers and god knows how many thousand watts with capacitors and tweeters and a giant ass horn right in the middle….we used to hear him a mile away

    Despite what people with a US conception of race might think, this video/song puts it down. Every human is of African descent. Political, religious, and economic systems have told us otherwise of the centuries. Big ups to Shadanks, KRS-ONE - Human Education Against Lies!!!

    Honey you wrong... the first man on planet earth was born in africa.. Then migrated in different country and adapted with climate and other stuff.. Everyonegot some afro-genes in him.. GOTTA ACCEPT THAT.
    Neway.. I'm african descent, all my family is.. But my skin is not black.. I'm olive...
    You can even find some african people with very very light skin.....
    not just black..

    That is funny - and odd. I wonder what Kris thought about Toby faking a Jamaican accent.

  • @jonnyblaze777
    @jonnyblaze777 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    The birthplace of mankind on Earh is Sumer Mesopotamia not Africa even Africa came out of Sumer so Rocker T needs to teach the truth not the story they want to be truth. All cultures came out of Sumer teach the truth or teach bs but in the end Jah Jah teach us all the truth that we all came from the same place no1 is better then anyone else and no need to fabricate stories to mislead people from true knowledge and culture which we all share as black and white people share the same grandfather Anu.. how can there be peace and justice without truth? Praise Jah The Father and live up.

    • @jeloroc5418
      @jeloroc5418 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The truth is that the Middle East, Where Mesopotamia was located, was once thought of as part of Africa. The term "Middle East" wasn't even used until the late 1800's. Europeans designated it as it's own "continent" because associating it with Africa meant associating it with black people and the idea of black people having any kind of high civilization or culture went against the whole idea of white supremacy, they even made Egypt, which definitely without question sits on the continent of Africa, part of this "new" Middle East. There is argument over which is the oldest civilization, both by definition of 'civilization' and by new archaeological discoveries that predate previously found artifacts...but Mesopotamia is always one of the top contenders for oldest civilization...HOWEVER, the message of this video is not about the oldest civilization or "culture" it is about the birthplace of humankind and the oldest human remains found to date have been found in Africa around the area of modern Ethiopia. You say that we all come from the same place and no one is better than anyone else, that too is the very message of this video. We all come from Africa, we are all one people. You say it is a fabrication but science backs it up. Also, Sumer was a city, how can humankind originate from a city???? There has to be people around first to build and populate a city before there can be a city so what you say doesn't even make any sense.

  • @dollarrecordswithjosh795
    @dollarrecordswithjosh795 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, fiyahprincess, it's doubly odd when Kris said "It's like buying and wearing a culture - If that culture ain't yours naturally, it's his, not yours - actually!"

  • @JoshDone
    @JoshDone 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    LOL, me too. Toby faking a Jamaican accent was always offensive to me. Like KRS-One said: If that culture ain't yours naturally, it's his - Not yours, actually.
