The running away to build meter is one of the corniest things in this game lol
Now this guy enjoys aggression in the neutral space so he tries to crowd you since he feels confident your DP response is not the best with Sakura. I have to say, your ability to steal low percentage wins from your opponents is fucking awesome. Did you mean to do that Alpha counter in the middle of his custom? Because that was clean if you did.

Guy couldn't adapt when his aggressive playstyle didn't work, but man did he have some great reflexes.

Justin says that V ism akuma is broken, but Sakura has a great advantage in this matchup too. One wrong jump, and you're punished with a CC of 70% full bar damage.
I think you can alpha counter the unblockable setup no? Block the high demon flip and then go for it.

I notice when his Akuma opponent goes into super Justin deliberately get hit so Sakura can get knocked down thus potentially taking less damage/cross up👍
That Akuma missed his sweep into OTG combo several times. So it's not smart at all to deliberately get hit.

Akuma is a monster in Alpha 3. His normal special attacks have priority over supers.

Dont understand why Akuma didn't shun goku satsu not even once. In my experience you try to trap Akuma in the corner he just grabs you and the screen goes dark--instant death.
Maybe you're not familiar with Alpha 3? There's 3 different modes (ISM) to choose for your super meter. In X-ISM you have moves similar to SSF2 Turbo, A-ISM lets you do regular Alpha-style super moves, and V-ISM is exclusively custom combo mode. There's a little more to it than that, but Akuma only has access to Shun Goku Satsu in X and A modes. If you're extremely skilled, however, V-ISM custom combos allow for some insane juggles and infinites for some characters and is often used at high-level play because it's basically a lot more broken than the other modes. A3 is still fun, imo, at any skill level, but highly skilled players have often practiced to be able to use/abuse the custom combo mechanics to do some crazy stuff.
@@howdyouknow Thank you so much for explaining, i didnt know about that in Alpha 3 since i havent had an opportunity to play it. So no shun goku satsu because it just wasnt available in the mode the player chose. Makes sense, but it must hurt to know if player had chosen either of the other modes he prob wouldn't have lost. Those are the breaks!
@@bluestripetiger V-ism at a high level is so good that Japan actually holds tourneys that Ban it, to make the game more interesting.

@@QuakeCorps or you could ask me why I said six is not as good as alpha or third strike, did you ever think about that? It's not pandering it's my opinion I don't like the 3D models with terrible skin slapped on them, I'm all about the artwork and the animation. Street fighter IV gave every character especially the females hands big enough to Palm basketballs and feet the size of anvils.

Let's be honest.. there are very few games that Akuma is in where he isn't top 2 or banned.. Even in Tekken7 he was top 2 for years until recently where he is top 3 xD

V/A Dhalsim is arguably the best, then Akuma. VER is the only top player I hear say Sodom is good.

@@garuda4361 I've watched a lot of the older tourneys from late 90's to early 2000's, not many people used Sodom in Japan or America except for VER. I agree Sodom is good, but if he was Top Tier you would think more people would play him, like Dhalsim and Akuma.
@@andrepayne4349 Japan always had the lowdown on the secret cheapness and tech way back in the day before anyone else (the Valle CC being an exception) and their tier lists always looked radically different from the US - everyone thought they were nuts putting Evil Ryu in top for A2 until US players discovered his CC blowout glitch at full screen. Sodom has never been a popular character in either country and he's fairly high-execution and difficult to play, so that's probably a big reason why he didn't get many tournament reps. But V-Sodom is solidly Top 3 at very least in A3. Absolutely OP stupid buttons, cheap af tick throw game with a comboable command grab, big CC damage and Jigoku Scrape pressure is pretty safe and hard to beat in the right hands. He's also pretty good vs Akuma and Sim (he stuffs Sim limbs all day)
