  • Dubai Airport, DXB, remains one of the busiest airports in the world, with a record 92.3 million passengers in 2024 and beating its rival London Heathrow, LHR. Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths discusses the growing passenger numbers and how the city in the United Arab Emirates is becoming an increasingly popular destination. "We're probably good for about 120 million through DXB," Griffiths says on Bloomberg Television. "The question is, though, because the city is getting so busy, is the road and rail infrastructure able to deal with that number of visitors?"

    T3 is nice but Terminal 1 is very busy and messy during peak hours.

      T1 is not only overcrowd during peak time but around the clock, even for midnight and early morning.
      Wherever there is such alternative, it would cost less time from home to gate or from gate to home for one to choose to land/depart from Abu Dhabi airport and drive home to Dubai south. Standing in a mile long-queue and encompass with high level of noise for 1 hour or more make one sick for that...

      On purpose. The Emirates terminal will always be more ppl pleasant. I expect that it will be the same even when they eventually move to DWC.

    Fun fact: Dubai immigration face recognition software cannot process some Asians because of their eye shape. Can't really call itself an international hub with this shortcoming.

      Before this, they rarely get heavy rain in like forever, so the infrastructure was not prepare for floods. I'm sure after recent flood, they made some changes to the drainage systems

    • @LewisTL95
      @LewisTL95 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The rain Dubai / DXB faced was a 1 in 100 year storm. Drainage is designed to cope with the typical rain in a region, not to absolute metrics, hence the flooding in Dubai.
      You put that same level of rain over Singapore, it copes just fine because the drainage is designed to handle a lot more rain.
