Just wanted to say big thank you for what you do!
We used your website for company quotes recommendations. We went with 10.3kw of Jinko panels and 8kw Sungrow inverter.
First year we were getting 15c per kw feed in and we were $600 in credit in a year.
Now we get slightly less but still in credit. Our hot water system turns on automatically only during the daylight. So with that we dont have any gas and electricity bill.
    Thank youfrom Brisbane, Australia

if only one panels slightly particial shade, only one panels no generate power or all panel no generate power? mine is trina

Depends on your inverter. With a cheaper string inverter - will drag down the whole array. With a premium string inverter or microinverter/optimiser solution - only the one panel will be affected.

I have some slight shading issues but am apprehensive about putting a sophisticated system with a whole lot of widgets up on my roof any one of which might fail. I feel it is better to go for a straight string system and cop any marginal degradation in performance. Is this a reasonable approach given the cost and inconvenience of service calls? I understand shading issues can be minimized with string layout and the by-pass diodes in the panels.

Is it true that Sunpower is not affected by shade?

      Hi Alan,
Sunpower Maxeon panels are more shade tolerant than other panels, but they are still affected by shade and will have their output reduced by it.

Thanks for the information Finn. Is there any preference between n-type and p-type panels. Particularly interested in knowing more about Jinko Solar Tiger N-Type 415W 66TR Solar Panel.

Hi Finn, thank you for sharing your knowledge. Origin is selling me JA Solar 6.6 kw with an invertor for $6250. They are promising a 25 year warranty and ongoing support from Origin if required. Is it a good buy?

@@matthewxcountry Ah - I was referring to solar installations from Origin. When it comes to choosing the best retailer - try our tool here: www.solarquotes.com.au/energy/

@@SolarQuotes Oh wow, great tool. I think Origin's super high 20c feed-in tariff might only be if you go with them to do your pannels and only guaranteed for 2 years. Probably not worth it to deal with a nightmare company installing the pannels. They quoted JA panels and when I said I have a tiny roof and want to fit in as many as possible they proposed Trina as their "high-end option" which based on your chart doesn't look high-end, and only allowed them to squeeze in 1 more panel over the JA. I've now gone with your website and am requesting 3 other quotes to compare.

By senior solar installer personel view as below.
like ABB, LG quit the market, if somebody bought LG panels, what is happening?
    what's next REC or Sunpower?
REC make the best poly panels in the world, but not Mono panels.
Sunpower local service is shit, we have the case no with them.
There was leak sunpower panels on the roof, Sunpower australain dealer send the third party ,then break the DCcable straightway.(we have the photos and fronius service's record.
We did a lot of services of solaredge inveters and optimisers issues which are much more than fronius inveter systrem.
Most battery system are hard to get the money back in 8 years.
We stongly suggest the cusotmer not to install the battery , onther than to increase solar panel system. if you do normal calculation.

    • @Jaimejjb

REC definitely makes mono panels. The REC TwinPeak4, NPeak and Alpha series are all mono panels. Are you saying they don't make the best mono panels? Best can be mean different things and different manufacturers can have yhe best in different categories
