Same here man. I wanted the .50AE but had to get the .44 due to lack of inventory. But now my .50AE is being transferred to my local arms store. Excited for it to arrive.
And that’s unloaded. When I need a more intense workout I’ll do curls with 7 rounds in each. Sometimes with an 8th in the chamber if the gym is fairly empty. 💪
I had the exact same problem. A little oil and racking the slide about a dozen times and it hasn't done it since. I've only put about 100 rounds through mine so far
As feedback, I own 3 Desert Eagles (50 AE, .44 Magnum, and a 9mm Baby DE). You're correct, they are great guns to shoot and fun to own. You may not shoot the 50AE as often as a 9mm, but you always walk away smiling. The 50AE was bought new, and I've never had any problems w/ the gun. I use Hornady 300gr ammo, and as long as you keep the gun relatively clean, you'll be fine. I give mine an extreme cleaning every 200-300 rounds, and keep the outside of the gun clean after every shooting. I know it's expensive, but it's one gun you'll keep for life, it'll always draw a crowd at the range, and you always walk away smiling. I bought the .44 mag DE used, and while it's just as much fun to shoot, I have had jamming problems, but if I keep the chamber "wet" it works fine. It's older than the 50AE, probably by many years (e.g., it was built in Israel). I've sent it to 2 different gunsmiths, and it still can be problematic, but the jam is easily and quickly resolved. I will be sending it into the gunsmiths at Magnum Research in the next few months, and I am hoping it simply needs some new parts due to its age (springs have already been replaced). Lastly, I also own a 9mm Baby Desert Eagle. It's one of my favorites, it's extremely accurate, extremely dependable (zero jams), inexpensive to buy & own, and did I mention it's extremely accurate. And BTW, once you get used to the kick on the 50AE, it also is incredibly accurate. So yes, it's a great gun to own although no one is going to carry the 50AE concealed, or used for personal defense, but great for hunting large animals. It's one worth saving for and having on your wish/bucket list.
+PhilaPop Nothing More Thanks for your detailed comment man. I just ordered a Desert Eagle 50 and had some concerns about reliability cause I think the one I'm getting is made in the USA. So I'm glad to hear you've never had a problem with your USA made 50. I plan on only running the Hornady 300gr hollow points, which I know is high quality.
+damon323 Congrats, you'll love the DE 50. One thing I've learned is to keep it clean and lubed. There are some videos around from Magnum Research on cleaning and lubing the gun, I suggest you watch the video. It's very simple to disassemble, but there's a lot of metal to keep clean so it'll take a while. I used to have my shop clean the gun, but I had some problems w/ my .44 DE and was about to send it back to MR to "repair" it. Then I found the videos, started cleaning it myself, and it's much better and I won't be sending it in to "be fixed". BTW, if you look hard you can buy Hornady ammo for $25 a box. Enjoy...
+PhilaPop Nothing More Thanks buddy, I appreciate the fast reply. I'm very big on cleaning and lubricating all my firearms, so I'll check out those videos for sure. Can't wait till it comes!! I've shot one before, so I know how fun these are.
I'd use it as a personal defense weapon, like the ones in the glass cases that says 'break in case of emergencies'. I'd use other pistols if it's not a real emergency like the Glock or colt.
I could see someone arguing that this gun is impractical, too powerful for its own good, too heavy, and so on, but as for the charge that it's inaccurate, uh... I don't get that one either. It has a fixed barrel! And a long one at that. What, does the bullet go, "Uhhh this gun is for posers, I'm going to miss on purpose!" Ridiculous. It's more likely that people are flinching before they shoot and throwing off their aim.
I tried the DE 44Mag. Ordered a 50AE still waiting for arrival. The first shot I got out of the 44 DE was right on. But then I kind of missed somehow. Then I figured out it's me flinching. It's hard not to flinch with so much force. Then I dry fired it a couple times and retry. It's spot on again. Very accurate for a rental. And it didn't jam on my first try on the gun with 50 rounds of 44 Mag down range. It's actually more "reliable" than a Raging bull. Due to the expansion of the case, it's sometimes really hard to get the cylinder out, or cycle for the next chamber. After that trial I set my eyes on the DEagle instead.
I have a Desert Eagle .50 cal. Love the gun. Very reliable. Love shooting it. It will always be a part of my collection. No complaints at all. Thanks for your vid.
I've had my .50ae Desert Eagle since September last year and I love it. The gun is very fun and I love all the attention I get with it. Everytime I go to the range, everybody stops and looks at you as soon you shoot it. I always get tons of people wanting to shoot it and take pictures/videos with it. It's a badass gun and I can't stop smiling each time I see it.
My first experience with the Desert Eagle was in 2015 when I reviewed the new stainless steel model with the integral comp. I bought the test sample after the review and it is one of my favorite pistols.
This is great. It seems like there are so many people who claim that this handgun is not reliable or not durable. It's just simply not true. I love this gun. Thanks for putting their rumors down.
Every pistol is for 'novelty activities' unless you're a professional (as in making your living) shooter or until you've used it to defend yourself. This holds for pretty much every gun (99%+) featured on any gun channel on TH-cam.
Mine is the chrome and gold with hardwood Desert Eagle grip with lots of boxes of 325 grain hollow points......loos great and shoots great.....perfect balance for a cannon like this.
Exactly, .50 AE has too much penetration and too much recoil to control accurately. The .357 and .44 Desert Eagles are a different story, more capacity than a revolver with less recoil due to the gas operation. I'd rather have a .44 Magnum than a .50 AE Desert Eagle because you've effectively got the same capacity and less recoil.
Dude, 10mm may pack enough "wallop" for you but it won't for a big Grizz. Thats what this vid is really about. I carry a LAR for bears cuz I hike in Ak year round and a 10mm might be good for blackies but the first time you surprise a sal with two cubs, your going to realize that. It's a shame that 10mm is gaining so much popularity. Its a false sense of security for Griz and people cuz it pass through the first human target
In ballistics tests with gel, 10mm penetrates 15 to 18 inches. That is perfect as far as FBI testing standards. No real reason to fear a round that does exactly what the experts say a defensive round is supposed to do. .50AE penetrates 24 to 40 inches in gel, by comparison.
Great video H4T , I really appreciate your content. It's very helpful to hear explanations and reasons for certain things. I always feel like we are getting the whole story from you , not just a strong bias for what you like. Thanks and keep the good stuff rolling.
I use a Monarch Shoulder Holster from AndrewsLeather. Sam Andrews in Florida makes them. Mine holds a model 329PD and four speed loader holder on the off side. Absolutely love it and recommend his work. Goes on like a vest. No belt loop crap.
Desert Eagle? For big game hunting: The Deagle can be useful for hunting, though the .454 Casull, .460 Magnum, and .500 Magnum all beat the .50AE in power. For self defense: .50AE presents an over-penetration danger to innocent bystanders, and the recoil prevents accurate rapid-fire at long range. The Deagle is also too big for concealed carry, unless you wear heavy clothes. For impressing people at the range: The Deagle certainly wins here, as a magnum caliber semi-auto pistol is awe inspiring.
I just picked up a mark 7 44. Magnum desert eagle and I haven't been able to get shells but I believe it to be reliable. I cant wait to get some rounds through it
A friend of mine has a .50AE DE and he hunts hogs and deer with it. We have put a ridiculous amounts of ammo through it, and it has NEVER had a FTE or FTF. And the recoil is NOTHING like they talk about. My wife is only 5'2' tall, and has no trouble handling the recoil. And it is VERY accurate. Excellent video H4T, i'm saving up as I type this so I can purchase one in the near future, and at $2+ a round, i'll definately be reloading for it.
What I did was get a 6" KKM barrel in 10mm (for the woods). Bought 10mm-.40 and 10mm .357 SIG conversion barrels so I can shoot a variety of caliber while practicing on the same gun. (shooting .40 from a 10mm feels like shooting 9mm)
Is the Desert Eagle a novelty gun? Yes. I still own one and like it very much. Does it have any practical uses? Yes. It is a rather good hunting handgun for big game. It's accurate and has less recoil than a revolver in the same caliber. You can also quickly change calibers and barrel lengths to suit your needs. A .357 with 6 inch barrel is fun at the range, while a 10 inch .44 mag or .50 AE with scope, will take most animals in North America, within 100 yards.
I was shooting at my indoor range and next lane was a .50 DE shooter. We got to talking and he let me shoot a mag. Sweet gun, the mass of the pistol and the slide sure negated a lot of the recoil. I liked it and recommend it to persons who can hold it up and steadily.
I see the Desert Eagle as being as practical as a 1911.Look at their calibers/capacities(respectively) Desert Eagle, .50 AE/7 rounds, .44 Magnum/8 rounds, .357 Magnum/9 Pounds. 1911, .50 Gov./7 rounds,.45 ACP/8 rounds, 9 mm/9 rounds. If someone takes the time to make their shots count, then lower capacity handguns are fine.Do not discredit the Desert Eagle because of recoil or capacity, because in the case, you should just shoot rifles in .22LR and handguns in .380, no excuses.
I for one love the desert eagle i do not own one yet but i have had the pleasure of shooting it in 50 ae and 44 mag and the gun work without any problems in both calibers. not practical for carry but it is extremly accurate and the power is unreal was joking with a buddy about getting one and mounting a scope for bore hunting i believe it would make a good bore pistol.
you can say human error from stance creates unreliability but if you gave that person a less powerful gun the unreliability that was there is now gone. that is why i think its unreliable
Your comment is illogical. If the way a shooter fires a firearm alters the reliability of the weapon then the shooter is unreliable, not the weapon. The weapon functions fine, the shooter does not.
psychofmse sorry i misphrased that, what i meant to say was that he stated that for many people they have a bad stance and due to that the gun jams from recoil, with that information and common sense a gun like a glock will have less recoil, ergo removing the jamming problem.
ellswtf I couldn't agree with ellswtf more, proper shooting techniques may eliminate certain malfunctions but nobody has perfect technique 100% of the time, let alone under duress, and a firearm that's more forgiving of that fact is more desirable, period. I'm not at all saying I don't like this gun, because obviously it's badass, but the point stands, results are what matter.
psychofmse Little point of contention their is that the more particular a gun is about correct stance then the less reliable the shooter and gun as a system is going to be. The gun and the shooter cannot and should not be considered separately as they are always used together, if the gun is too particular in its operation for most shooter to use then it is not a reliable system for the average Joe. That said I have every intention of buying a .44 Mag Desert Eagle within the next couple of years and I have no doubts about my ability to shoot it reliably. My girlfriend or nonshooting friends on the other hand...
all you need is good magazine springs, of course, the bullets are freakin' huge! Awesome video.... I appreciate you explaining all of these things to all the hundreds of thousands of people out there that know so little about guns. This is a major problem today: Too many people are buying guns and they know NOTHING about them. Just look how simply you have to explain basic stuff to the lemmings out there. Yesterday I saw a guy buy an AR-15, just because he keeps hearing about them on the news!
I like the .50 AE round but for the cost and ease of reloading I gotta go with the 44 mag. I may have to snag one. They are stupid accurate. Ive chased pop bottle caps out to 25 yards with them and hit milk jugs at 100. love em!
I just found your videos today and am working my way through them based on the ones that most apply to me or grab my attention. I really appreciate you making them, I'm learning a great deal in a short period of time.
I agree the desert eagle is not just a novelty gun. Although there is more options that are better the revolver world. For price, power, and capacity. It really does not overshadow much in terms of a revolver. I bought a ruger super redhawk in 454 casull.Price paid $850 new, 454 has more power, and capacity is 6.. Now, with that information I still want to get my own desert eagle they do serve their purpose and are very well made.
Good video. I'm about to buy a .50 AE Desert Eagle for investment purposes and this was really helpful. An important aspect is single action vs. double action. I know you cover that, but some people may not know.
I own a .50AE Mark XIX, and I will say that your assessment is false. Absolutely, it is unreliable and a novelty. And before you go thinking I'm using poor form or limp wristing, I can tell you I'm a US Infantry Marine and know damn well how to shoot a pistol. I won't say that it isn't fun to shoot. It is. But it's not suitable for self defense, hunting, or much else than impressing people at a range. It's a jam-o-matic and very fussy about what ammo & grain you put in it.
I prefer the Deagle or Desert eagle, the Deagle is a nickname some people use. its a great hand cannon, just extremely heavy and feels like you using artillery piece in your hands. so I designed a new desert eagle. The mark 24 desert eagle shots 105cal rounds, the Desert eagle I designed basically the same size as a mans "Toy".
I own a desert eagle as well buddy well some of what you said in your comment is correct but some is not I wouldn't classify it as a jam o matic it is fussy though about the type of ammunition you using it but as long as you bend at the elbow and not the wrist I haven't had issues with jamming other than certain ammo types it doesn't like and I think it would be okay for a defense done something you might keep in your car
What you said about limp wristing is 100% accurate. I’ve had two .50 AE Desert Eagles and one .44 magnum Desert Eagle. None of them ever jammed with ME shooting them. I’m well experienced with handguns and how to properly hold one. I’ve let friends fire the big Desert Eagles. Some of them don’t hold it correctly and they jam. They don’t want to believe it is them, “it’s the gun” they say. Back in my hands, 100% again. Know your limitations and work on your weaknesses.
you made absolutely 0 points as to why it is not a novelty pistol. you proved its a reliable range toy that is ok if you are shooting dead chickens or soda bottles. This gun absolutely a novelty. Really the only application it would be good for is hunting. too heavy, low round count, and unreliable. The DE is worthless in any tactical application and I DARE you to defend yourself on the street with this. I dont have pure hate for this gun, it is a friggen BLAST to shoot, it is just not good at anything than delivering massive rounds with massive recoil.
Look lower at my replies gives plenty of points to it. Low round count? Its no different than ANY single stack mag. And street use? I can shoot through anything I have to, I know you can't with most calibers out there. Yeah its heavy, no the recoil isn't that bad but seeing your picture I am a much bigger guy than you. So lets look at this real world point of view, this is your opinion for your size, so what is true for you is not for me, I get so annoyed when I see people base their opinion on it trying to state it as a fact. So that may be why its much more simple for me than you. And unreliable? I don't know where this BS always comes from, I got a few thousand rounds through one of mine never had a single jam in it EVER... sure if you don't clean your guns this isn't the gun for you, and that will jam as well as limp wristing it, I have seen cause difficulties with others. But I really don't get where unreliable even comes from. Most the time I ever hear anyone downing this gun its people that have zero experience with it, or knows a friend of a friend who let me shoot it 3 times Or jumps on the hater band wagon. You Dare me to defend myself on the street with this? Well I do... and I know I'm grouping withing a inch and a half at 100 yards out and yes this is yards not feet, lets see you do that with your pistol homeboy. And I do that with more velocity and energy than most pistols point blank at that distance. And to your whole opinionated rant I stand the complete opposite of your opinion in real world use of it. And I'm honest about it, sure I won't win a draw down with it to most, but I'm no slouch with it. And truthfully its not because of the weight its because of the length to it. It has a 6" barrel on a 10" slide, that's a lot of gun to travel in a short distance fast. And tactical use? I'm ex military and can give you plenty of tactical real world uses of it, and its not some call of duty BS. I'm a ex Scout Sniper that gun in my hands I'll probably out shoot you with a rifle its a great pistol platform with devastating accuracy and distance for being a pistol with plenty of punch. And you need to be real about it, a target shooting back at you does mess up your speed and accuracy, you dare someone to defend themselves in the street with this? Okay lets look at that realistically, a lighter gun can most times be pulled faster true but it doesn't mean your on target, and that's the difference of life and death, sure you might get the first round off, but there is no guarantee you made the first hit.
BoostedBadBoy Again, not one point that you can prove that this is a good gun other that goofing off at the range. Just an "I can (cuz my military balls say so) and most others cant so it has to be good", argument. Man, I really hope you were just trying to prove a point rather than actually believing all of this. Why on earth would you want to "shoot through stuff" in the street. I would advise you to review and get some help understanding the legalities of self defense shooting, especially in public. Recoil, as much as you guys are defending it, it IS huge. you cannot defend that, you just cant. Sure a bigger guy can mitigate it better than a smaller guy (like me apparently) but that does not make it ok. You say that limp wristing causes problems, well, THAT IS THE PROBLEM. This gun is so easy to limp wrist that it really takes a lot of technique which you need to use and keep in a firefight(I'm sure you know that you lose a ton of thought and logic when in a high stress environments such as a SD shooting). If you are going to base your entire argument on the fact that you can and most cant, then you are not real in tune with what people need or want in a gun. You may be the ultimate bad ass with this gun as you claim, but if you have to defend yourself and end up shooting someone with this gun, you will find yourself in an ASS load of trouble. Courts will burn you alive for using this sort of firepower. It is just asinine in any SD situation. So tell me to be real about it. Stopping power is the ONLY thing this thing is good for. A foot long, 5lb sidearm with only 7 rounds that only the ultimate badasses can shot does not make this a good gun.
i have one in 44 mag and it one of the most reliable handguns out there the only complaint i have is the safety mine keep coming lose and putting itself on safe othet then that ive never had any issues with thousands of rounds shot through it,and ammo price isnt an issue if you reload it allows you to shoot 3 times as much
H4T, love to have you back with guns. I don't expect you to buy new guns. I love seeing what you have :). USP is great! I have myself a USP9 and a tactical barrel for it. I don't carry it. I carry a G26. Never shot a D eagle, can't comment on it. Don't be afraid to take out guns you've already shown brotha Keep it real
Desert eagles are great guns i have a chrome/ gold 44 with millet sights, and a gold 50 ae. 44 magnum feels like a 38 special , but 50 ae i have hogue grip on ,. 44 magnum i love to shoot, its a joy ,it destroys stuff not my hand . 50 and 44 change uses same bolt, 357 and 41 requires bolt change too along with barrel and magazine . But i dont like the 357 cause its only reliable with hot loads or premium carry ammo. Great video.
I carried a Desert Eagle 44 Magnum for many years on duty in Law Enforcement. I have an old video up reference this....I say all that to say the Desert Eagle is a FINE weapon. I trusted one. Thumbs up video!~~John
I bought a used Baby Desert Eagle recently (Polymer frame) and I love this gun. It shoots very well and shows no sign of not being reliable. I did hold a 'fully grown' desert eagle, full steel, in my big hand (I'm 6.3 tall) and even though the gun fascinated me, I found it too heavy as a handgun, especially for target shooting or even home defense. Yes, it may bring down a water buffalo, but I stick with my "Baby".
A good review with a different perspective than many reviews of this firearm. I'd say use or carry whatever you're proficient/comfortable with, but I was glad to hear a review that didn't have horror stories of malfunctions etc. I'd love to add a desert eagle to my firearms collection, but aside from the initial outlay, that ammo cost would have to put a dent in practice time. Also, post teotwawki etc., there'd more likely be 9mm, .40 and .45 still around---i can only think .50 AE would be even scarcer. While I like the idea of a .50 handgun (mostly for its ability to stop vehicles via the engine block), a .44 magnum can do a similar job for cheaper. Finally, my own handgun philosophy of use is to basically regard any larger-than-concealed carry handguns I own as a means to fight my way to a long gun and go from there. I think if I ever get one of these it'll have to be a deal and it'll basically be a fun toy.
I have a DE .44 that I bought from my brother when he moved. The DE shoots better than my Remington R1 1911 and has the same felt recoil. It weighs a ton though. I don't think I would use this as an EDC hahaha! .44 Shot from a Desert Eagle will have more velocity than .44 fired from a revolver with the same barrel length. I have never had a round jam or fail to feed. So far I love it.
I conceal carry my desert eagle 50 AE daily for 6 years now. It may be too big and too much for him but not me. It is just an opinion. I also carry a Beretta px4 subcompact. But I do love my 50. A leather and Kydex hybrid holster is what I use.
Thank God. A kindred spirit. 😎 I never carried two , but I have carried one in a shoulder rig all day without issue . I don't recall you saying anything I disagree with. If only ' J.Y. ' a.k.a. ' YM ' possessed your honesty and intelligence ,as well as possibly some others.
Mike he bought the whole brief case kit, you can find them on gunbroker, they come with 50 barrel, 44 barrel and 357 barrel and bolt, the correct mags for each round and some even come with the long barrels as well all in one nice case from the factory and $7000 is the price.
44 MAGNUM in a long barreled ported revolver is the best combination of firepower and accuracy. The DE has a nice action I like that rotary bolt its strong and fixed barrels are superior to non fixed barrels in any non custom. However a gas action needs hot loads to cycle well and handloads need to be near max. Moderate loads dont work well
I own 4 Desert Eagles (Two inherited) a MK1 .357Mag, a Mk7 in .41Mag, Mk7 .44Mag and just Recently added a All Black .50AE. They have all been reliable but I only have 150rnds through the .50. My favorite is the .41Mag. The .357 is Kool too because it has a smaller frame than the others. I have carried the .44 in bear country in a shoulder holster with 3 10round mags on opposite side to help balance it. I use my Glock 20 .10mm in bear country now. Keep the Desert Eagle clean, lubricated and feed it ammo that you have tested in the gun and you should be all good if you can handle the weight and recoil which for me isn't bad but recoil never bothered me that much. I'm 6'2" 215lbs though and well trained and practice alot.
The desert eagle is elegant and over all a true weapon. The ergonomics and overall shape is beautiful. This is not a compensation toy, it's not a 18.5 inch long S&W 500 or BFR it is a combat pistol that handles the power incredibly well.
Absolutely nice gun. having 50AE and 44MAg adapter. Strong and reliable. Yes- revolvers can be more powerful. I have a planty of revolvers, but also DE becasue it is so much unique.
Glad to see someone who actually owns an Eagle talk about it. I get a little sick of asking, "When did you shoot one?" to people who call it a crap gun. I don't really consider the gun to be very practical myself, but I believe that if someone had big enough hands to hold the gun well and enough money to practice to use it effectively that it would make a good bear gun or hunting handgun.
I enjoyed your video. Great info on the D E. I often wonder why they made this gun. As you said, it can't really be carried. Maybe just because they could and they knew it would sell.
Magnum Research designed and made the Desert Eagle with target shooting, hunting, and silhouette shooting in mind, it's right on their website. They wanted to design a reliable handgun for magnum revolver cartridges that did not take proprietary cartridges like the unreliable AMT Automag and the Wildey, and Magnum Research succeeded. Back in the late 70's and early 80's when the Desert Eagle was designed it was illegal to conceal or open carry in most states so that type of thing wasn't even thought of back then. Hell when I got into guns in 2002 most states didn't allow you to carry a firearm, that's a new thing. The Desert Eagle is great as a target gun, hunting pistol, or for handgun silhouette shooting because it is softer shooting than a large revolver thanks to the gas system. Those Silhouette strings of fire can get downright grueling with a big bore revolver.
You'll love 10mm. A lot of people get scarred, but recoil is less than a .357 Mag despite greater power. Budget ammo will have the power of a .357 Mag but with greater mass and higher caliber so it's more than capable woods load for Black Bear and anything smaller. Get some Double Tap if you really want some power, with a 6" KKM barrel you be around 930-980 ft-lbs KE which is .44 Magnum territory. I've put rounds through 4 laminated landscape timbers, and it can pierce steel plate.
Check out the video of 10mm vs a cow's heart. The exit wound and cavity aren't "holes" like normal, they're more like giant fissures in the tissue, it looks like a 7.62 NATO. Shot placement becomes obsolete once KE reaches a certain level. If you knew the high math & physics I do, I'd use seismology as a ballistics example. I've got other things to do, in fact in a couple hours I'm picking up my new Sig 229 Enhanced Elite .357 (the new version), and I'm going to put 200-300 rounds through it.
Whether it's practical or not, I can't say having never fired it, but I admire your passion for your firearm. And in regards to your comment about movie bad guys carrying, the Agents in The Matrix are armed with this. But, honestly, I always thought the Agents looked very natural with the Deagle.
Hey H/DoF. I hope you are doing well. What’s your take between the Deagle Mk VII vs the Mk XIX. I want one in 44 and will not likely ever do a barrel swap to 50. I just see used Mk VII’s for quite affordable which seems enticing.
Hello, the only real stipulation with .44 in Deagle is that they recommended that you use 240 grain ammo only (just what reliably feeds the best) other than that the reason the .50 is so popular is because when most guys say Deagle most people automatically think .50 cal, I’ve seen good results with .44!
Excellent vid!!!! i thought i was the only one that got sick and tired of hearing "the desert eagle is a novelty firearm" cuz i know that its not and i know its purposes
I like the DE its a blast to shoot, I put 50 rds through one a few years ago Im glad I did when I had the chance, But ive got med hands and that .50 is just huge. the one I shot was really accurate and had no jamming issues, A friend did limp wrist it but it was only once a grip correction fixed that. I love all steel pistols especially 1911's and My CZ-85 full size is my favorite 9mm pistol but that DE is just to big heavy and kicks to hard for me to use it for anything but fun
BEAST ASS GUN!!! I've got the .44 mag version because I fired the .50AE version one time and it was too much for me. I would, however, like to have the .440 CorBon ten inch barrel for hunting whitetails and hogs.
Hey bro I keep checking your videos as motivation when saving up for my Desert Eagle. I want to get one for every birthday in a different finish haha. Keep up the videos.
The present Mark XIX model comes in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50AE. Calibers available in older models also included .41 Magnum and .440 Cor-bon. It's never taken .45ACP.
I owned a DE .44 mag. for more than 3 years. Fun to shoot, no doubt. Accuracy and reliability was good. Though my Kimber 1911 is as reliable if not more so and definitely more accurate. The DE is not a practical defensive weapon but I have heard it is great for hunting pigs/boars though. It's was a great conversation peace at the range cause you could blast off 8 rounds in nothing flat. But that got to be a drag cause the rounds are so expensive. For me it was the very definition of a novelty.
For me it's a FUN GUN!I've wanted one for many years and finally got one a few months ago.I don't think I've stopped smiling since!!!
LMAO ...know the feeling, i think back to PULP FICTION and that gold light in the case!!!
Same here man. I wanted the .50AE but had to get the .44 due to lack of inventory. But now my .50AE is being transferred to my local arms store. Excited for it to arrive.
I own two DE's, I cancelled my gym membership 'cause I just use them as workout weights
LOL! ME TOO!
If i had two 50AEs i would problary do the same, since i had troubble affording the ammo
Lol 😂
Now you’re an akimbo pro in CODMW
And that’s unloaded.
When I need a more intense workout I’ll do curls with 7 rounds in each. Sometimes with an 8th in the chamber if the gym is fairly empty. 💪
Mine never jammed. The slide wouldn't fully close on the first shots but that was solved by using extra oil on the bolt. Great gun!
"A proven man stopper", I really like that line!
3 years and I've never had a jam with my 50ae
You might need to shoot it during those three years.
The main reason they will jam is due to "limp wristing".
My first shot jammed lol but after I found a good position to shoot and got a few shots off I was able to make it run just fine.
Biggest issues with DE is proper ammunition and proper technique. It is a finicky beast but feed and hold it correctly it will run well
Rick Hunter yep!!!
Excellent video, partner. The MR Desert Eagle .50AE is great fun to shoot. A classic for sure and one of the few guns I'll never get rid of.
I have a Desert Eagle .50 cal. Love the gun. Very reliable. Love shooting it. It will always be a part of my collection. No complaints at all. Thanks for your vid.
aNKLE CARRY DESERT EAGLE
LMAO
Lol
One on each ankle.
darth nader 😂😂😂😂
That would be a great ankle workout lol
When you did that drive by with your Desert Eagle did you say
"Aye Homie, You Need Some Help?"
😂👌🏽
It has been in over 500 Hollywood movies according to Gun Times.
"I carry these rounds just to see how they work out." Lol, you talk as if you have to shoot someone on a daily basis XD
My first experience with the Desert Eagle was in 2015 when I reviewed the new stainless steel model with the integral comp. I bought the test sample after the review and it is one of my favorite pistols.
best pistol on counter strike!
3 round burst glock
The Desert Eagle in .357 Mag does get stoppages if you don't use good ammo that is not strong enough to cycle the heavy slide.
Love how you chose to display the pistol
This is great. It seems like there are so many people who claim that this handgun is not reliable or not durable. It's just simply not true.
I love this gun. Thanks for putting their rumors down.
Ironically you only seem to use yours for novelty activities like shooting iPhones, coke cans and raw chickens...
The best thing about a desert eagle is how small it is, it easily fits into my back pocket.
heh
smaller than the New iPhone
"Operator Error" My two favorite words pertaining to shooting.
I'm partial to my Glock 20 10mm! I still find the .50 Desert Eagle a novelty. 10mm packs enough wallop for me and 15 rounds of it
Exactly, .50 AE has too much penetration and too much recoil to control accurately.
Its a false sense of security for Griz and people cuz it pass through the first human target
burmiester1 You don’t think 10mm has too much penetration? A frontal shot on a human and it’s coming right out the back.
I always loved mine, in 44 mag.
I want to grab a 44 barrel for mine. The 50 ae is a little nuts to carry haha
+ReonMagnum The Desert Eagle is great ankle carry pistol. Brah
MrDoverfield Certainly mate, people will definitely not notice that big bulge near your foot. XD
ReonMagnum people usually don't notice bulges in my pants
MrDoverfield lol
I just picked up a mark 7 44. Magnum desert eagle and I haven't been able to get shells but I believe it to be reliable. I cant wait to get some rounds through it
I'm not sure if it's novelty. But I own a .50AE model, and I do know that his pistol is sitting on a lot of money.
Bought it in store for $1250.
"You cant believe everything you read on the internet"- Abraham Lincoln.
The desert eagle is a well made pistol and very accurate. A lil heavy for edc but i love that gun. A must have in a collection.
The only thing I want jamming is my screwed up tape
What I did was get a 6" KKM barrel in 10mm (for the woods). Bought 10mm-.40 and 10mm .357 SIG conversion barrels so I can shoot a variety of caliber while practicing on the same gun. (shooting .40 from a 10mm feels like shooting 9mm)
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS GOING ON IN THE BACK GROUND
My pit bulls chewing on Elk antlers on a hard wood floor
+H4T Certified Glock Fanboy huh?
this gun was the subject of much of my frustration on modern warfare 2
Is the Desert Eagle a novelty gun? Yes.
I still own one and like it very much.
Does it have any practical uses? Yes.
It is a rather good hunting handgun for big game. It's accurate and has less recoil than a revolver in the same caliber. You can also quickly change calibers and barrel lengths to suit your needs. A .357 with 6 inch barrel is fun at the range, while a 10 inch .44 mag or .50 AE with scope, will take most animals in North America, within 100 yards.
This baby has SERIOUS stopping power
I had a friend who carried a 50ae DE. Then he got that penile implant and now he carries a 380.
Wasn't a personal attack. Just a joke. Lol.
humans4targets2 burn
humans4targets2 lol
I was shooting at my indoor range and next lane was a .50 DE shooter. We got to talking and he let me shoot a mag. Sweet gun, the mass of the pistol and the slide sure negated a lot of the recoil. I liked it and recommend it to persons who can hold it up and steadily.
If I was ever attacked by a grizzly bear, I would want this on me rather than bear mace. Or, use the bear mace, then magdump the 50ae into the bear.
.500 S&W would be even better.
Jacket or just .44 mag that will stop any bear in the world even a .357 is good for black bears and most brown bears.
hansen hard cast. Use hard cast.
...bear see you carrying a Eagle would apologize then back away from you!!!
i love the 1911 .45 caliber. i have and enjoy shooting the desert eagle .50 ae and the 357 mag all three very accurate all very reliable
I love the desert eagle 44
forgot to say these guns are freakin gorgeous. probably the best looking handgun ever made. especially stainless with rubber grips and no picatinny
Perfect anti bear gun.
I like the .50 AE round but for the cost and ease of reloading I gotta go with the 44 mag. I may have to snag one. They are stupid accurate. Ive chased pop bottle caps out to 25 yards with them and hit milk jugs at 100. love em!
If you find this gun heavy i feel sorry for you.
I just found your videos today and am working my way through them based on the ones that most apply to me or grab my attention. I really appreciate you making them, I'm learning a great deal in a short period of time.
I just got my 50AE
it is fucken awesome
its a mans gun!
Next goal. Find an isis warrior and use his head instead of watermelons, yeaaaa
Because? Am i racist?
Would you invite them in for a cup of coffee and cookies? And chitchat about it? I bet you would
Pussy
should i have to name you in every comment? are you like 80 years old? ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
It's a freakin' hunting pistol for christ sake. That or a really expensive beer-can recycler.
+Kenneth Burright What are you even talking about. And you do know what a 105mm caliber is right?
+Kenneth Burright what the fuck are you talking about?
I own a desert eagle as well buddy well some of what you said in your comment is correct but some is not I wouldn't classify it as a jam o matic it is fussy though about the type of ammunition you using it but as long as you bend at the elbow and not the wrist I haven't had issues with jamming other than certain ammo types it doesn't like and I think it would be okay for a defense done something you might keep in your car
Couldn't it be a practical defense weapon in .357 or .44 hollow point?
A foot long, 5lb sidearm with only 7 rounds that only the ultimate badasses can shot does not make this a good gun.
open carry DE 24/7 yessir
Been carrying mine for a long time, but of course I'm a big man too....Not for little men... ;)
***** 225 p ht.5.11 in need big gun ok 1gun desert eagle 2 ruger sr9 hold 18r my back up is thr ruger sr9 carry hot YESSIR
i have one in 44 mag and it one of the most reliable handguns out there the only complaint i have is the safety mine keep coming lose and putting itself on safe othet then that ive never had any issues with thousands of rounds shot through it,and ammo price isnt an issue if you reload it allows you to shoot 3 times as much
H4T, love to have you back with guns. I don't expect you to buy new guns. I love seeing what you have :). USP is great! I have myself a USP9 and a tactical barrel for it. I don't carry it. I carry a G26. Never shot a D eagle, can't comment on it. Don't be afraid to take out guns you've already shown brotha
Keep it real
Desert eagles are great guns i have a chrome/ gold 44 with millet sights, and a gold 50 ae. 44 magnum feels like a 38 special , but 50 ae i have hogue grip on ,. 44 magnum i love to shoot, its a joy ,it destroys stuff not my hand . 50 and 44 change uses same bolt, 357 and 41 requires bolt change too along with barrel and magazine . But i dont like the 357 cause its only reliable with hot loads or premium carry ammo. Great video.
This pistol has a lot of potential as a competition pistol.
its about time i watch a good quality video this is way clear! great vid!
I could see this as a defense gun against large and dangerous game especially with some heavy fmj or hard cast loads
that black chrome desert eagle is a beauty.nice review
I conceal carry my desert eagle 50 AE daily for 6 years now. It may be too big and too much for him but not me. It is just an opinion. I also carry a Beretta px4 subcompact. But I do love my 50.
A leather and Kydex hybrid holster is what I use.
Do you carry the px4 as a backup to the DE,and how is your holster setup on your person if you don't mind me asking?
Yes the px4 is back up. My de holster is a kydex and leather inside pants holster hybrid.
It's great for defending yourself from an angry bear but the recoil makes follow up shots in a tactical situation harder.
This is not a compensation toy, it's not a 18.5 inch long S&W 500 or BFR it is a combat pistol that handles the power incredibly well.
i really thought that was just a picture until i saw his hands
This video was tastefully made. I love the ammo carpet thing you have going on. Good information.
its used for close range shooting to destry an engine block it does have a practical use
So now the "drive by with one arm slightly bent" test is the new benchmark of reliability?
In that case, what improvements would you make to it?
I like the DE its a blast to shoot, I put 50 rds through one a few years ago Im glad I did when I had the chance, But ive got med hands and that .50 is just huge. the one I shot was really accurate and had no jamming issues, A friend did limp wrist it but it was only once a grip correction fixed that. I love all steel pistols especially 1911's and My CZ-85 full size is my favorite 9mm pistol but that DE is just to big heavy and kicks to hard for me to use it for anything but fun
You shot an I PHONE! You sir are my new Hero.
BEAST ASS GUN!!! I've got the .44 mag version because I fired the .50AE version one time and it was too much for me. I would, however, like to have the .440 CorBon ten inch barrel for hunting whitetails and hogs.
Yep, exactly, just a little bit bigger around.
Works good for deer hunting. Used my MKXIX .50AE in 2011 and got a lil 6 pointer.
