      But seriously, it is. Oh sure you will have some flops. I don't know why people have to make it so hard to cook. Just turn on the oven and give it a go, Buster.

    Pickle juice, what a fab idea! I'm imagining a sandwich with a couple slices of this bread and Havarti cheese (and some European-style butter). I adore dill (must be the streak of Norwegian on my mum's side of the family). Thanks Vonnie!

      I have heard some folks bake bread during an open house to make the house feel more homey. Some machines load liquids on top, take note. And mine does not do the 2# loaf so if that is important, look for that also. Let me know how you come with it!! BTW you may not need to purchase one since some family members or friends may have one stored away that they always meant to use!!!!

      Well then hike on over to a thrift store and see what you can find. Remember to try it within a couple of days so you can return it. And no need for cook books anymore with the internet. Good luck and thanks for watching. PS The best part is I forget I put fixings in the bread machine and then all of a sudden.....sniff, sniff....................ahhhhh

    I use my bread machine a lot.
    For yeast, Sam's Club sells a pack of 2 one pound bags of dry yeast for about $7, way cheaper than packets or jars. You can keep dry yeast in the freezer, and I have had it last for almost 2 years, with no deterioration or loss of potency. I don't belong to Sam's, but a friend picks it up when I need it, not often, because 2 pounds lasts a long, long time.

    • @vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544
      @vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much. Do you know what is the difference in dry yeast and bread machine yeast??? If there is any?

    • @tomjeffersonwasright2288
      @tomjeffersonwasright2288 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know of any difference, but what I have works well in my Hitachi bread machine. It also works well baking in the oven. It is Fleishmann's instant dry yeast, the same brand you are using. It is 2 one pound bags for $5. You can see it if you search for "yeast" at "Sam's Club online". I used to buy jars of yeast like the one you use, and the contents are the same.

    • @vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544
      @vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomjeffersonwasright2288 It's funny, I just started using bread machine yeast and had always used instant yeast. I did a google and an official bread machine site listed bread machine preferences as 1. instant yeast 2. active dry yeast 3 bread machine yeast. So it is back to instant yeast for me.

    Dill pickle juice, O I love that Vonnie. I'm a fan of dill but I'm not so sure I'd wear it. I do like a nice sip of pickle juice every now and then. I"d need to go to JamesPort for that flour. All We need is a good excuse to head to the mennonite shops and we let no grass grow under our feet heading off. Have a great week Vonnie.
