You are a gentleman if I was back in the haulage business I would employ you without hesitation. But sadly my health is not good and I had to get rid of the trucks and I miss them like mad but it would not be wise for me to drive a lorry. I was all over Europe and my wife went with me but sadly I lost her to cancer and the heart went out of it. I enjoy your videos and a belated happy birthday. Deffo. Romanians, Poles and Irish are some of the hardest workers I know. I’m sick of the sweeping generalisations and cliches unfairly attached to these guys.

My old man was a trucker, used to get dragged round with him alot as a kid.. between the truckers, dockers and farmers, I'd learnt every swear word by 8yrs.. 🤣

Happy belated birthday Raul. Thank you for showing the trucking in the UK. How tight your docks in the UK are vs the United States docks with some very spacious, but we have our share of tight dock many are underground.
Underground docks wow that's new for me. Thank you!
Raul the underground docks are in old like quarries. That were mining for rock. An businesses warehouse/factories have controlled temperature. In my state they have warehouses underground with docks. The height of these tunnels/roadway are 14 foot height. When you backing in you have to be careful you don't hit massive pillars holding up the roof. Of course they are chained in links all over, so rocks don't fall an damage vehicles.

The story about Romanian business and government checks, looks very similar to what we have in Russia, those guys just don't leave without giving you a fine no matter what.

@@Raul689 the worrying thing is there’s a small but growing contingent of people in 🇬🇧 who want something nearing communism here; yet they can’t see that every country that’s gone down that route has spent years fighting to get out of it, whilst the people suffer, and the main people in the government live luxury lives.

22:10 I run a small family company in ex-yu country and I hate that "you are full of money because u have a company" mentality. Small businesses owners are also public enemy number one in our country because they expect people to do their jobs when they come to work and they don't just give them money.
If you have bad luck and hire a crazy worker, get ready, you WILL get financially REKT. They can literally steal from you, openly tell you that they will kill you and will burn down your business and you CAN NOT fire them. If you are lucky and can actually fire them for any justifiable reason that is listed as "justifiable" in the law, they can still sue you and you have to pay your and their legal fees as long as the case is not finished. It doesn't matter if they win or lose, you pay their legal fees regardless, so they always try.
The funny thing is, I would probably work half as much and earn the same if I would be stacking shelves in Aldi. I bought a shitty 350 eur phone I need for my job a while back and one of the workers saw that and commented that "it's easy for me because I have money" and that "we will have to discuss a pay-rise sometimes soon". The irony here is, this guy is paid about 25% above industry standard and takes home twice (!) as much as I do.
The moral of the story is: keep it small and work for yourself, extra revenue (that usually does not translate to extra money in your pocket) is 9/10 times not worth exponentially more trouble.
Or just work for someone else, clock out on Friday at 5 o'clock and forget about the company until Monday morning.
oh wow that is bone chilling. very true people tend to believe that if you have a business you are rich. but most of the times your employees take home more than you as a director.
keep the chin up and keep cracking and you will eventually get there. i might say that i backed out too easy, and probably should have grind a bit more, but here it is.

Seen a 50yr old haulage company with 12 rigs and warehouses go down the toilet because the owner retired, handed it over to his privately educated son who thought he knew best.. who went and signed some bad contracts with Avonmouth docks.
I’ve worked with a couple company’s like that where the son is a know it all dickhead. Who thinks he’s the best with his name on daddy’s company.
