As former Delta Force Operator Command Sgt Major Pat Mac says, the transverse plane (rotational plane) of movement is the ass kicking plane of movement.
I just recently got into kettlebells and heavy club and mace. Looking forward to many years of training with these tools. I am Seventy years old and back into the gym and really excited about this new way of training with new tools to go forward with. I had not ever heard of kettlebells until someone at the gym showed me what they were all about. They looked to me like cannonballs with handles. But what a workout I received using them. I am now addicted to them and also the heavy clubs and mace. Kettlebells those are the creme de la cream and heavy clubs next. Loving it. Thanks for all the advice. I will continue to watch and learn.
You can start our kettlebell TH-cam playlist at number one and go until you get through the whole thing. Do one video a day do the same thing with clubs do the same thing with Mace
Adex is cool stuff for sure. I had no idea about club/mace training before finding this channel. Now I'm swinging all the time, whether as a warm up or main workout. I've been showing friends, they appreciate it. Thank you Wildman!
Now I do landmines (as replacement of Olympic weightlifting), kettlebells, clubs and hula hoops (sic!). Planning to add maces/hammers and staffs in the future.
I like this better than the alternative because it seems that the centre of gravity is going to be further down the club (like in a fixed-weight club) as opposed to closer to the handle.
@@MarkWildman got a mace but not the add on kit but I do have the hydra but am not a fan and also I'm 5;7 and have a 45 lb club ( still too heavy. Idk if I should get an arc or a little club from adex? So long if I can do the pullover with an arc I'd like that . I like the pullover more than I like the 360. It's soo fun
When using the Add-on kit it's best to use the original longer thread it came with. Then you could have added an extra 5 pound weights and use the club handle.
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. If you can throw an axe, you can throw a football 😉.. Might not have the precision of a skill position player, but I bet you can outthrow most quarterbacks
I apologise for asking irrelevant questions but I appreciate your thoughts on all aspects. What do you think of the neck harness where one essenially performs weighted nods? Does club/mace swinging mean we do not need specific neck work? Also you used to do a lot of programme analysis. If I write out my tetris of training, will you comment on it (Not asking you to make a video!) As always, great channel, opened my eyes to a whole range of fitness ideas I had never known about.
Club / mace does not require specific neck work if done on proper progression. I think weighted nods can certainly help, but weighted rotations are even better for impact athletes.
The Adex system is the best "corrective workout" equipment and I'm waiting for the Ad-on to get back in stock, but do they have anything in the works for going beyond 45-50 lbs for the normal club handle? Or just use the arc at that point?
They had a limited run of the Mastodon Kit. It is a bigger sleave that goes over the Ad-on kit. But with the limit on access to steel, they have not been making it.
I bought a 12 and 16k rogue KB last year and want to add club next. Is the Wildman handle the one you would recommend for everyone? Men and women? For reference my glove size is sm/md.
What’s the purpose of a weighted mase? Iv never seen or heard of this before! What muscles groups does it work and are they any good for strength training?
it works all the muscles that are used in casting patterns, the movements that define humanity. and its the way strength training was done for 5k years before the barbell. start with a light mace. build up to at least a 50lb mace for 10 min nonstop. you will definitely be stronger
to what extent is it necessary that the spindle have just the right length so that it fits to the handle? i mean, for beginners it's important so that you don't have the spindle sticking out, but once you start adding weight you don't screw it all the way in anyway. why not make longer spindles?
The Ad-On Kit does come with a longer threadset. There is an argument to be made here about having a longer threadset pushes the weight further out. The Ad-on Kit keeps the weight compact by utilizing a sleeve to not push the weight out "too" far.
Due to a complete lack of consistency, I'll just stay over here in the corner with my 12½ pound club and no real sense of competency. Jesus H...depression sucks.

I believe he also said something like "The transverse plane is where life is."

Ad-On Kits will be in stock April
Looking very in control of that massive weight. Seen others with that load, and they are very wobbly. Well done!
Seems like a fair deal, master the club to become a graceful endurance monster.
I've been using the Arc as a mace substitute indoors as the ceiling where I'm working out is just a tad low. It's working well so far.
I find myself taking notes from nearly all of your videos because to me it seems like everything you say is a gold mine of knowledge! Thanks

Wonder will we ever see adjustable weight hula hoops from BOS

Doing 60lbs of mace/club work in full work clothes while juggling *two* man purses - Awesome!!
Satchel. A man purse is called a satchel!

I need this. I have singles and take up too much space.
My fitness regiment includes maces, kettlebells, and jumpropes from Crossrope.
Solid plan
Mark forgot to struggle on those shield casts 😅 I think I need to see you swinging an 80+ lb club one of these days!
You’ll see a 70 soon
Great content mr wildman
That's crazy, I literally drive around with a Gransfors Bruks axe, a cold steel shovel, and a bunch of kettlebells in the back of my truck too. 😆
All the smart people do

I bet you can launch a football incredibly far and high up. Your demonstrations are very impressive

Why do I feel the sudden need to watch the entire Lord of the Rings series? Again. Fantastic stuff here, Mark!
I’ve watched it at least 100 times. So you are in good company

May I suggest an Arc Sleeve, longer, heavier just for the Arc
