    Mark Wildman's wavelength of instruction is excellent. I have listened to other instructors and NONE OF THEM are as understandable for learning technique and for motivation as Mark Wildman.

      I have two 45 pound clubs I don't get a chance to use them that much. When I'm doing single or am I just do a lot different kinds of swings 360 two-handed, single arm swings to pullover ,two hands inside and outside swings and two-handed inside and outside pendulum. And single arm inside pendulums and outside pendulum sing arm to some kind of side pullover. Starting with forty-fives is definitely a hard learning curve. But my rack position is not good . But you give me hope for learning the milp

      Can you show us that mil but as a inside and outside pendulum catch instead of just a inside and outside circle?

    Yes just got a club, been using maces for a couple of years now, this training has changed my life, I’m fit and strong in middle age.
    Mark is doing a service to mankind.

    6:04 That has to be the coolest "Set the club down with good technique" I've seen yet ! 😃
    ( I'm 100% confident if I tried that, the club handle would bang into my shin or land on my foot. )
    I've been doing mills for several years, it's my favorite, and watching the 180 Alt Pullover again here, I had the thought that it would be good to practice this just to improve technique, particularly when going up in weight. Thanks as always Mark.

    Mark, I’m always skeptical of assertions like “this one thing is the answer to all questions.”
    But I have been training clubs and mace now for about 6 months, following ur videos, and I have seen more development (and therapy) than any other 6-month period in my life. I’m 39 and I’m a life long athlete…. what I would give to have had exposure to this in my teens… but never too late!
    Truly.
    Thank you.

    This video is getting a bunch of re watches 😆 Dog! I can tuch my shirt now. I did 2 sets of 5 puluvers per side as per my stregth protocol for a total of 40 reps, and I didn't beat myself about the head and shoulders! That's always good. I'm so close to the full go-ahead mills. Exelent content.

    Another awesome video Mark!
    About a week ago i asked what 3 exercises I should focus on, I think I've chosen the 3 that suit me best, so I'm going with:
    Single arm Staggered Swing to Clean
    Two Handed Inside Circle & Mill
    Shield Cast & Squat
    in that order! I figure that those 3 should give me a good range of motions!

    The mill looks so complicated when watching others doing it. But it feels too simple when doing it myself. That must be because it's a pretty natural movement (at least for the dominant hand).
    This upper half of the mill and reverse mill allows me to concentrate on getting the rotation right. Pretty easy to get from that to a mill and reverse mill, I think.
    I'm compleatly new to this, so I need this break down of this seemingly complex movement.
    The club must flow!

    Hey mark. I’ve been suffering from golfers elbow (inflammation in a tendon) probably because I was doing shield casts with too heavy of a club (I’ve leaned my lesson) but I can’t get it to go away. I’ve tried many different exercises and stretches. Have you ever dealt with this? Did you just work through it? Any suggestions on how to heal it? Thanks.

      everyone's elbows hurt as they get older. ibuprofen, don't do the movement that makes it mad, therband flexbar (looks stupid, works). heat, professional massage (hurts but really works), rest.

    I can do mills, I've built up with 15,20,25# - but it still feels like throwing a baseball with my left hand (as a right hander) - not sure how I'll ever get it to be less robotic and more natural with my off-hand.

  • @anubis767

    How do you prevent elbow pain in these exercises?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Allow tendon and ligament adaptation by running a proper program. If these are trashing your elbow, you should drop weight for a few cycles

    • @larsnystrom6698
      @larsnystrom6698 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @anubis767
      You prevent elbow pain, and other pains, by going slowly.
      It takes at least 7 times longer for tendons to grow than muscles. And much longer than that for joints to strengthen.
      My experience is from this:
      Pullups and chinups on a bar typically gives golfers or tennis elbow because your muscles get stronger faster than muscle attachments does.
      This can be avoided by not training two days in a row for many months. And do less than you can during that time.
      But it's very dufficult holding back!
