While in the West Bank in late 2016, Abby Martin interviewed Ahed Tamimi about her hardships and aspirations living under occupation and it becomes clear why her subjugators are trying to silence her voice. Her brother Waad and father Bassem also talk about their experiences with Israeli soldiers harassing their village and targeting their family.

It’s interesting that Abby Martin makes this documentary seem neutral, yet she forgets to
mention that Ahed Tamimi’ aunt is an convicted terrorist who multiple times have bragged about how many Jewish children she killed in an attack at a Pizza place. She was sentenced to life in Israel but was released as part of a deal where an Israeli soldier was taken hostage. Ahed is seen multiple times smiling and laughing with her aunt.
Also Ahmed’s mother was arrested for posting pictures on how to stab people. There were even posts on her Facebook at the time, so she was not all innocent as well.
Funny how Empire files have no issues showing off a few radical Israelis saying they want to see all Arabs dead or misplaced, but when there are hundreds of interviews with Palestinians who say the same about Jews, then no one cares. Oh, and Abby also forgets that Hamas is an elected party which aims to wipe out all Jews from the region. Double standards of bought “independent journalists are insane”.

I have seen Ahed since she was 10, but listening to her frustration and forced maturity, learning about her family suffered abuse and lost hurts and gives a deeper understanding of how hard it is for them this 100 years old occupation and scares me to think that it could happen to anyone of us and nobody will come to the rescue. 😢
