    You sir saved me so much work. While I did not need to replace my feeder funnel, I had a large piece of filament lodged in it. I could not remove it (no matter how much I pulled and tugged) and I could not find a video or guide anywhere that explained it. 2 days later, and after some messages to Bambu, this video popped up.
    I now have an AMS that works perfectly fine and Im thrilled' Thank you!

    My first print I did on my Bambu was the AMS Feeder Funnel Wear Protector. It give you a bigger button to push for a release and incorporates a PTFE tube to ware out instead. So glad I printed it and it works flawlessly.

    Seeing the circuit board on the bottom, I feel like if you're going to risk it and use abrasive filaments, stick to the _left most_ feeder, if only because it is a tiny bit easier to access those screws seen at 5:36

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, but, probs best to just use the outside spool for abrasive.

    my part was a little worn but when I pulled the old unit off I noticed what looks like a screw went through the wire.. I mean it still worked I think but hell that could have been my issue all along is that wire looks to be split by the screw. I've never had it apart so I'd assume that was Bambu's fault but how am I going to prove that one to them? Probably can't 😞

    I am about to attempt this repair on all 4 of my AMS slots. I took apart the first feeder and I noticed the gears had small pieces of plastic on them and the gears had some grease on them. Can I clean them off and just add the same type of grease I use for my z axis lubrication?

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never lubed my ams feeder gears. I vote no

    • @charlesdix4831

      @@3DRundown I decided to order two AMS feeder assy's from Bambu and both of had some sort of grease/lubrication on the gears. I also found an issue with a wire harness supplying power to my AMS feeder and it had melted slightly and caused a short I believe. I also replaced the feeder tube coming off the AMS into the P1s with a Capricorn tube and that turns out to be a mistake as well since it's too tight and is causing friction. More fun..

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting! Now I need to look at them again. Also, yes... NO CAPRICORN on any DD setup, or AMS. Only Bowden Setups.

    Great video, I think your videos are extremely thorough and helpful. You give time to show exactly how to do each momentum unlike most other that cut down their videos in a frenzy so short it basically is worse to watch and follow, unlike yours where you actually see everything in a very well weighed pace along with additional tips so everything is extremely clear. I actually went on YT for a complete other troubleshooting but I started to watch and did so all way through since it was so much better than most other tutorials/informational videos. Thanks mate, two thumbs up!

    I usually don't mind disassembling like this but good grief. To me it's worth just buying the whole assembly. $8 vs $35 minus the fiddlyness and minus potentially breaking the plastic housings, yeah it's worth the higher cost. That said this was a phenomenal video, thanks for the details.

    • @3DRundown
      @3DRundown  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This absolutley sucks. The whole unit 1000% makes sense, but, since there are people out there, that are going to attempt this, I figured it was worth it. Creality turned this into a 5 second swap, on the CFS. Too bad I can't show it....

      Did you mention me? 🤣Saving $20 with a little easy assembly is a task for me. If I'm given such a challenge, I'm definitely going to complete it 😁The assembly of these is usually made complicated on purpose so that people buy the complete unit, and I take it as an insult, it's a matter of honor to do it 😆
      But I think a lot of 3D printer owners are like this. The good thing about the whole 3D printing thing is that we can avoid the outrageous pricing of big companies, when they charge a lot of money for a cheap plastic piece of crap, or you can't get it in the first place.
      Of course, I would basically buy a complete unit and replace it quickly if I needed it. Then I could easily repair the faulty unit and it would go into the spare parts.
      Thank you for your instructional video! These help a lot in avoiding the mistakes that occur when disassembling unknown structures.

      I paint as well, but, for some things, there is no replacing multi-material printing. It's super cool. ALSO.... you can have your base colors in it: White, Grey, Black, Whatever you use often... And just print single color, without having to swap out a spool. It's a huge time saver. Especially when you have 2 or 3 of them, and print allot.
